Dr. Stillman's Repetition Diets

A few people have asked, so I typed them out from Dr. Stillman's Book, The Doctor's Quick Inches-Off Diet, pages 134-141. Choose 1 each day.

Egg Diet~ 1 egg- 3 times a day

Skim-Milk Diet~ 1 glass of skim milk- 3 times a day

Buttermilk Diet~ 1 glass of buttermilk- 4 times a day

Cottage Cheese Diet~ 4 Tbsp cottage cheese- 3 times a day

Meat/Vegetable Diet~ 3 oz hamburger (lean, broiled) & 1/2 cup green vegetable salad- 2 times a day

Chicken/Vegetable Diet~ 1 chicken leg (w/o skin) & 1/2 cup green vegetable salad- 2 times a day

Steak/Vegetable Diet~ 3 oz steak (lean, broiled) & 1/2 cup green vegetable salad- 2 times a day

Fish/Tomato Diet~ 4 oz fish (baked or broiled) & 1 tomato- 2 times a day

Melon/Cottage Cheese Diet~ 1/2 melon & 2 Tbsp cottage cheese- 3 times a day

Banana Diet~ 1 banana- 3 times a day

Crabmeat/Lettuce Diet~ 1 moderate piece of crabmeat & 1/4 head of lettuce- 2 times a day

Shrimp/Lettuce Diet~ 12 medium sized shrimps & 1/4 head of lettuce- 2 times a day

Tuna/Lettuce Diet~ 4 oz white tuna (water-packed) & 1/4 head of lettuce- 2 times a day

Salmon/Lettuce Diet~ 4 oz salmon (water-packed) & 1/4 head of lettuce- 2 times a day

Additional Information
1. A minimum of 8-10 beverages should be consumed each day, which include water, diet soda, coffee, and tea.
2. In addition, you can have 2-3 generous servings of geletins and 2 servings of broths.
3. The doctor encourages plenty of brisk walking daily.
4. Just one week or less will take off about 10 pounds of overweight. The average is a 1-2 pound loss per day.
5. You don't have to follow the same repetition diet each day. For example, you can do the Banana Diet on Monday, Egg Diet on Tuesday, and Steak/Vegetable Diet on Wednesday...

Yes, the calories are low... 180 to 420... on these diets per day!

The doctor didn't state how long to stay on these diets, but he did say that a lot of people who don't believe they can make it the whole week end up following these diets a second week.

Please be careful when attempting these diets.

There are other Stillman ones with higher cal intake. I personally think these are too extreme...this coming from someone who has the book and occassionally alternates with some of his diets.

I agree, his Quick Weight Loss diet is marvelous!

In regard to his Repetition Diets he says, "You may be one of these overweights who can stick with a diet best, and lose weight astonishingly fast, when you're limited to one or two foods a day and eat those foods at every meal. Numbers of my patients have found this the way to dieting success. Since my goal is to help you take off excess pounds quickly and healthfully, I've created a wide choice of Repetition Quick Weight Loss Diets for you."

I got a chuckle out of Stillman's book how he created a new noun -- Overweights. It reminded me of the Sugarbusters book that constantly wrote SUGARBUSTERS! every time they wanted to refer to their plan.

Doug~ Yeah, I was laughing at how he calls his patients overweights, too. I've used the term several times now. He is pretty dry, although he certainly has a lot of different plans to suit almost everyone. He even has a plan fro Vegetarians that suits Vegans, too. I like the thought of that, although I am loving all this fish, steak, chicken, and shrimp!

I don't have the book. I would like to get it, but in the mean time could you or someone else post the veggie diet?

Doit,
See the STICKY dated 6/22, the second thread in this forum, titled THE INCHES-OFF DIET. That's the vegetarian one. It's a fun change of pace from the high-protein diets.

I just noticed that there are some diets missing here....

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >
MEAT ONLY DIET:

This diet is limited to a half a pound of any meat wanted, 3 times a day, along with plenty of water and othe non-caloric drinks. For lots of those who like meat very much, this has proved an effective quick reducing diet. On this diet eat only lean meats, only when hungry and only enough to take away the hunger. You'll lose great amounts of fat quickly, safely and surely. **This is a repetition diet-choose only one sort of meat to eat a day.

YOGURT ONLY DIET:

For this diet take 120 calories of yogurt (I would choose no fat-or- lowest in fat...seems to be lowest in carbs) 5 to 6 times a day (total of 600 to 720 calories). You may vary flavors as much as you please, keeping the total calories under 900 daily. If you become constitipated take milk of magnesia to help.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I found this on another site and these were there.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
These weren't..............lol

2. In addition, you can have 2-3 generous servings of geletins and 2 servings of broths.

be very careful with this. when you start to eat like normal -weight people do, you will gain it all back. better to switch to 'south beach' diet after 2 weeks. its the way normal people eat

how can U say the way normal people eat??? The way "normal" people eat is how most of the USA got heavy in the first place......Nothing is wrong with South Beach but this site is for ALL low carb plans not just ONE! No- One PLan works for everyone!! I suggest you read more on the boards, because there are plenty of people here that have done low carbing for years

The longest I did these diets consecutively is 3 days. I did the Egg Diet, the Meat & Vegetable Diet, and the Fish & Tomato Diet.

They are listed in his book The Doctor's Quick Inches Off Diet. I found the copy on Amazon a few years ago.

I believe there was a rumor Renee Zellweger or maybe it was Nicole Kidman(?) did the 3 day egg diet when filming Cold Mountain.

THEY ONLY EAT BOILED EGGS
During the filming of "Cold Mountain," there were rumors that one famous actress on set ate only boiled eggs. She would rise in the morning and eat one and then have one or two at the end of the day.
That was her entire diet. And apparently she is not alone.
Celebrity trainer David Kirsch says, "I had a client who was getting ready for the Oscars and all she ate was one meal a day - of two boiled eggs! I was able to persuade her to add some almonds and a protein shake and some vitamin supplements.
"It's a self-defeating strategy," says Kirsch. "You need to eat enough, particularly protein, to build lean and toned muscle in the first place."

Eggs are kind of gross to me. I've only eaten them in the last maybe 2 or 3 years. Stillman's Repetition Diets can be changed each day, so no need to live off eggs for days.

So, is this part of the Inches-off diet (as sort of a suggested 'meal-plan' during this phase), or to be used alone for fast slimming?

I'm afraid I'm still very new at all of this *blushes*
