I substitute 3 pieces of Louis Rich turkey bacon for the bread at breakfast. I have a wheat intolerance and so I eat the turkey bacon and one grapefruit for breakfast.. Also another treat on the scaresdale is I buy sugar free and low carb yougurt. The vanilla Cream and then put in frozen rasberries or blueberries.. This freezes the yougart. Makes a fun lunch and really helps me with my love for ice cream. I had lost and kept off with the scaresdale.. and when I went off gained.. so I am back doing a scaresdale type south beach approach and losing again.. But after reading your posts I am going all scaresdale again thanks for the inspiration and getting me back on track.. I cannot give up my fruit and vegs.. and feel this is a a life change of eating and I can eat like this the rest of my life on the other phaze of the scaresdale andkeep off this time..

I do the two weeks on, two weeks off, but during the two weeks off I am VERY strict. For the two weeks off, I loosely follow the regular two weeks on, adding a small amount of fats and another slice of bread a day. If I had very much to lose, I would do the two on/two off until I reached goal. I think this will probably be the last two weeks on that I will have to do for now.

well i am about to go for a jog because i feel like i have more energy than i have in ages...and i hardly had very much to eat, either!
half a grapefruit and black coffee for breakfast,
then later i mixed a can of tuna with salsa and had it on LC Bran Toast.
For dinner I am going to make a great big salad, add in 1/2 cup of cottage cheese.

I thought for certain i would be missing fats by now...its really strange how this diet works, i feel great!

Yep. No fat! I couldn't get used to it, Sandy!
BUT--I lost more weight with Scarsdale than ANY other plan.

Do you have to drink coffee with breakfast? I hate coffee.

In my two weeks on plan I use Maple Grove sugar free/fat free vinagrette.....during the two weeks on stay slim, I use a low carb low fat dressing with some low fat cottage cheese mixed in.....it works for the creaminess (not a LOT of cc.....just some). It has been HARD to give up my mayo, but I realize that it was too much fat AKA calories, for ME.

I got my Scarsdale book at the bookstore. It is an old book, so not very pricey. I have seen it online too.....it was worth the read.

You never HAVE to drink coffee. It always gives you the choice between coffee, diet soda, water, or tea (cept bfast, I think the diet soda isn't there).

I may try this. I lose very well with lowered fat. And I feel better that way too. When I tried doing the meat/egg fast, or the fat fast, ugh, I can't describe how weird I felt. Is there a Scarsdale challenge group perchance? Or shall we start one?

I'd like to start one!

I lost well on Scarsdale in college and I'm starting again tomorrow!

Thanks,

Theresa
