Transitioning from stillmans to atkins

So I have been on stillmans for 4 days and want to transition back to LC on saturday. Anyone had any experince with this?
How should I go back to LC. Just wake up and start eating higher fat and my veggies again...or make it a slow change? Slowly add the veggies back in, then a few days later up the fat a bit? I just dont want my body to freak out and I start gaining for a couple days. Any advice from some body who has tried it would be appreciated! Thanks!

You must add the veggies, fat, etc. back very slowly. Do that and the weight lost will stay off. At least, mine did.

Yup..best bet it to go ultra slow! Add back in 5 veggie carbs for a few days ( so a small salad very light on the dresing, or some steamed veggies) or even take a week at this level. Then add back in small amounts of fat. I found that if I took about 1-2 weeks to get myself back to Atkins induction levels..I not only didn't gain any of my Stillman's loss back, but would continue to lose just at a slower pace

P.S. Just rememeber, if you go back to your old ways...you'll also get the old results

Ok well I made my first attemp at transition. Was gonna wait till tomorrow. But I gave in tonight.
FOr dinner I had Chicken breast and mushrooms sauteed with garlic ..no fat used...just that pam stuff. I dont think this should effect my loss..its just veggies! And I am still with in decent carb, calories and protein counts.

Heres todays totals.
Cal 803
Fat 26
Carb 16
Protein 118

its pretty good..actually the fat and carbs is much less then some of my other days on stillmans. Crossing my fingers and hoping I still see a loss in the morning.
Tomorrow I think I am gonna add some cooked spinach in with my lunch. YAY.

Lori,

Looks fine to me...Just add some veggies for a few more days..then a bit of fat and you should do great.

So, how much did you lose total on Stillman's??

In 4 days (day 4 I had the mushrooms) i have lost a total of 9.5lbs!
Today I am going to eat pretty much the same stuff...but cut out the cottage cheese and have a big serving of cooked spinach! I know I will have a little alcohol tonight...I figured out on fit day, how much I can have and still stay under 900 calories. Though, I feel soo good with my loss...I may even cut that down...starting to feel like a couple shots of vodka isnt worth a stall or a small gain! yes..i feel good!

The difference between Stillman's and Atkins is two large handfuls of mixed greens.

I thought stillman's was no fat and only lower fat, lean protein. On Atkin's, we have higher fat proteins and are allowed cheese, salad dressings and such. I may be wrong though.

Yeah..on LC I usually eat more beef and pork. ON stillmans I have only had fish and chicken. Looking forward to adding back in the cheese and getting rid of the FF cottage cheese. =P

No, you're right ... although what people tend to forget is that fat is a choice.

Lean protein on Atkins is fine (their new sample menus even included turkey bacon). Certainly we can choose eat 300 calories of salad dressing (one ladle at a salad bar) ... or choose to use low cal Italian and cut it to 50. Guess which produces faster weight loss?

Ditto on carbs. Original Atkins was up to 20 carbs, up to 3 cups of loosely packed salad veggies (2 large handfuls). Some interpret this to mean a minimum of 20 carbs ... or that not all carbs count ... or that calories don't matter.

But back to high fat protein. The difference between a serving of prime rib and skinless chicken breast is several hundreds of calories, all directly affecting weight loss speed.
