stillmans vs induction?

I am currently on induction considering stillmans. My question is what are the pros and cons? Dr. Atkins really stressed the importance of fat in the diet to induce ketosis and weight loss stillmans stresses lean proteins.Anyone out there that has tried them both and can shed some light on the subject?

I have not done Stillman's, but my mother did and this is her experience. When I was a year-old and she was 39, she did Stillman's for an entire 30 days and lost 28 pounds. She was only about forty pounds overweight at the time and ate nothing but a mixture of cottage cheese and tuna fish for those 30 days. I "tried" this and couldn't do it. She told me that at the time, she wanted the weight off so badly, that it didn't matter what she ate. She has Stillman's "quick weight loss" book and says he has several weird ways to drop weight quickly. Another one of his ways is "buttermilk and bananas."

Now she's 74 and over 200 pounds at 5'8". She and my stepfather - who is morbidly obese - did Atkins about five years ago. He lost 100 pounds in six months and she lost about 35 pounds in the same period of time. She quit because she wasn't satisfied with her results, but I told her that men lose quicker than women. My stepdad is so huge, that even with that loss, it was hard to tell he had lost any weight. Now they're both fat and miserable.

I think Stillman's book is out of print, but you can do an online search. The cottage cheese and tuna diet was just my mother's experiment, this is by no means the only way to drop weight quickly. Good luck and let us know what you decide!
