kimmer's vs. Stillmans...what's the difference??

As far as I can tell, the only difference is that Kimmer (M/E fast) says you can use limited amounts of fat/oil, but Stillman says 0. They both advocate lean meats, poulty, fish. So how is one better than the other? Which would make you lose quicker in three days?
I just don't understand??????????

Also, on Stillman's you can have soft cheeses ( like pot cheese and ff cottage) and it does have a calorie amount to shoot for ( 800 calories)

Kimmers was meant to be a 3 days "fast" to help you get in deep ketosis, get rid of cravings, and a way to see if you were overdueing carbs.

Stillman's ( the one most talk about here) is just one part of Stillman's book/plan. He has many fasts to choose from to switch things-up. It is also a long-term plan to get all your weight off. ( I know some do Kimmers longer then 3 days..but I don't think that was the original intent.

On Stillman's, you use no fats or oils to cook with. So, broiled, baked, crock pot, steamed for protein ( again..with no added oil or butter)

On Kimmers..you can use small amounts of oil and or butter. Just enogh to make it work..not drowned your food in.

Last..Kimmer is a low carber. She's not a doctor, or done long-term studies on her 3 day plan. Stillman's is a doctor with a published long-term weightloss plan. ( Note* this is not to say Kimmers plan doesn't work..it's simply part of my answer to the diffrences)

As to which is better? hard to say.as I haven't done the m/egg fast before. I have done Stillman's a few times..and it does work. However, it's a very strict plan and not easy. If your someone that has trouble with cheats....or going off and on a regular woe..Stillman's will be a very hard way to eat for sure...

Never tried Stillmans but have read good things about it here. There is a challenge thread i think.

I've been doing M/E since June 05. Love it cuz its simple and I lose on a steady basis. I feel good eating this way. I say give one a try if it shounds like fun, if it does not work, try the other one. There are lots of options to choose from if you want to do lc in different ways. Check out the challenge board for some ideas.

Good luck.
