Does anyone follow Stillman's?
I have been looking at my ratios and calories today and am concluding that low fat, low calorie, low carb seems to be working best for me.
I think this is closest to Stillman's. Does anyone do this. Are any of you have success with low fat, low calorie, low carb? |

Hey Shulamite -
You're so sweet to me... Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am really trying to find out what works for me. My first post to this site was on 9/17. I came here out of pure desperation. I had been on Atkins induction for 6 weeks with no weight loss. I had done Atkins 2 years ago lost 55 lbs in 6 months! I didn't see it as a WOL; however, and I returned to my old ways. I'm still hitting myself over the head for that. Now, I feel that I am extremely metabolically resistant. I really want to find a WOE that works for me and can be my WOL. I am really afraid of doing more damage, however. The last two weeks I have made some changes and by using fitday I have really been following ratios and calories. I am honing in on what works for me. It is clear that I have to be much more restrictive than I had to my first time around - it seems I can't even eat fats liberaly and even veggies are stalling me and kicking me out of ketosis. These two facts really scare me and make me feel hopeless. I want to see if anyone else is similar in their ratios/calories because as I said, I am weary of causing more damage and the ability to stick with a plan long-term. Thanks again, Shumalite... Your kindness has made a world of difference!

i remember your first post...
you are gonna find the WOE that works for you... dont be afraid... and i did 45lbs initially on just your basic induction in 2003... and i dont know why as well but after blowing it and going back up 30lbs i dont seem to be able to have the results i had back then.. i wasnt even trying to workout i just kept in under 20 and those 45 lbs melted off in 3 months...now i workout and i cant seem to get the results i had then... i love it and love to see youhoning in on what works for you..... i watch you on the boards and hope the very best for you... because ...well... your my pretty k-a-t-e!

i kind of feel like im barely hanging on as far as finding a WOE that works for me as well...but i always go back to basic induction...but i notice really good results or at least i feel better when my fat ratio is higher...
im a faster... i have been water fasting the days recently and eating a meal at night... i do not recommend you following any of my suggestions ha ha.. i want to see you get into something consistant... i have been using the cla/gla combo and im sure you have read some of the threads alot of us are experimenting with it...i absolutely love it... typical menu for a eating day for me is like this... 2-3 eggs over medium (sometimes with meat) tuna, mayo, lettuce meat and lettuce if i have hamburger patty or bacon early i try and make it lean chicken at night... hope that helps... i have to keep it simple... when i had great success in 2003 i ate eggs and bacon every morning... hamburger patty and lettuce for lunch or dinner occasionally i might have broccoli... i was just in a zone... melting... wish i could get back there again... also...i drank alot off coffee and water... and i didnt drink low carb beer... which i bet if i would cut that out i would probably see that scale move... |

Hi Kate - I'm so sorry regular lowcarb is not working for you. Have you tried to find out if there is something phsically keeping you from losing weight? I remember one faithful poster who struggled to find what would work for her. She finally found a doctor who was willing to help her find what her problem was. I don't remember what caused it but she did find the answer and became a very successful loser. Don't see her on here much anymore but hope she is maintaining well.
You will find the answer. As far as Stillman is concerned you might try it to see if you could jumpstart things but I don't think it would be something you would want to have to live off of for the rest of your life. In my case, I used it once when I had a stall. Stayed on it for three weeks and it did the trick. Jumpstarted me again and it was all downhill (on the scale that is) afterward. Good Luck.
