How long to stay on Stillman's/MeatEgg fast?

Just finished my 7th day on Stillman's and am so pleased with the loss--7 pounds--but I woke up to the most horrible leg (calf) cramps and killer headache last night. I'm thinking I might have to start adding back some carbs and veggies soon. Is there a typical amount of time that you spend on this way of eating? My carbs have been limited to 5 and under per day and calories to between 800-1000. I LOVE the appetite suppression, but don't want to be stupid about it...Thanks in advance!!

The leg cramps on Stillman's are the same as on Atkins and probably due to rapid water/potassium loss ... the 7 lbs in 7 days.

Dr. Stillman's plan suggested adding low carb veggies based on the individual preference of the person ... as you get closer to goal. You're relatively close now.

The carbs to add back would be healthy veggie carbs, not cheesecake or Atkins Endulge bar carbs, LOL!

Something to keep in mind is that you lost 4-5 lbs of water weight which would indicate you were 'over' on carbs before. If you return to that type of eating, you'll regain.

Be sure to take a Centrum type vitamin each day!

Kimmer, thanks so much for the info! I do take a multi each day, but might supplement with potassium now.

I've used fitday faithfully since starting Stillman's, it's so easy with the little that I eat. It was a little more time consuming when I was on Atkins Induction since I was eating more things like tuna salad and recipe-type things, so I didn't use it much. You're right, I must have been over on carbs, even tho I called myself in "Induction". Veggies will be what I start adding back slowly, I have to forget about the creme cheese and whipped cream--they are killers for me and I know I'm very sensitive to dairy.

See how smart you've gotten?

Oops, forgot to add ... there was a recent thread about potassium in various foods. Several have more potassium than bananas, including meat!

Some add potassium by using 'lite' salt, but mix it with something because the taste is kind of iffy.

Good job!
