a few Stillman questions.......

I'm going to do this and Atkins. Something like Atkins four days a week and Stillmans three days a week. I just have a few questions.

How long do you stay on it when you do it and could I eat chicken and hard boiled eggs for three days? And how well do you do on weight loss?

Some people on stillman subsist on just that... chicken and boiled eggs. If you do that, it will drive you crazy... there is too much that you can have on the list for you to only limit yourself to that. Don't make it harder than it has to be. Don't forget that stillman was written before the lowfat craze... there are lowfat products you can incorporate that will work, such as plain FF yogurt, sf Davinci syrup to flavor, Kraft FF cheese, sf jello, etc. Explore, vary.. and check out the recipes, I think it will make Stillman more enjoyable.

As far as switching from Atkins to Stillman, I've never been able to do it successfully. Generally I stay on Stillman and have a few Atkins MEALS but not a full day. My body just can't take all that switching between hi and lowfat.

I can't tell you what kind of weight you'll lose with the switching back and forth. I am losing about 3- 4 lbs a week, some people lose a 1lb a day but you have to be doing Stillman HARD CORE.

not just lowfat...plain non fat yogurt has the least amount of carbs in it. Use the Davinci syrups to flavor it.

If those items are all you have, then that's all you've got.

Question: is atkins working for you? I mean true atkins- doing the plan by the book the right way, are you losing pounds and inches?

If so, there is no reason for you to do Stillman. You are young and I do not want you to damage your body. You don't have to try every little thing that comes along just because other people are doing it.

Make sure it makes sense for you!

If you're going to do stillman, make a batch of cola chicken... it will make it much easier!

Yes. True Atkins does work for me. I just have this hump that I would really like to get over.

"You are young and I do not want you to damage your body."

Would that be from lossing to fast? Or just screwing my my metablism?

Thanks again You rock

Doing something as drastic as STillman MIGHT mess with your metabolism. You'll just have to see how it works out for you.

I would not recommend staying on such a drastic plan for an extended amount of time.....just enough to get your over the ATkins hump.

As far as your stall, how long has it been that you've not lost? Have you tried all the traditional ways to make an impact on your loss, ie: raising your carb level (on traditional atkins, I lose much better on about 30 g of carbs a day), reinducting, trying a fat fast or a meat fast.

Make sure you explore all of your options and if STillman still sounds like something you want to try, please please please join the stillman challenge group- Lisa Rae and Hunni are usually there and give GOOD advice.

Good luck to ya!

Hey Skinny, What's cola chicken??
I've been on Atkins--by the book since Jan--I'm so stalled that I was thinking about Stillmans too, but I'll look into your other ideas instead...
Thanks-Christie

I don't mean to sound anti- Stillman... I'm doing it and several others are doing it and it DOES work... but sometimes people jump on the bandwagon not realizing what they are getting into or trying other things first. Stillman makes you DREAM about the variety on ATkins, so if you're finding ATkins hard to stick to, STillman will be hell on earth.

Here ya go!

4 skinless boneless chicken breasts
1 cup catsup
1 (12 ounce) can diet cola

Put chicken in nonstick skillet. Pour catsup and diet cola over the top. Bring to boil. Cover, reduce heat and cook for 45 minutes.

Uncover, turn up the heat and continue to cook until the sauce becomes thick and adheres to the chicken.

I like to brown the chicken a bit first so it doesn't get tough while cooking. And you can vary the kind of soda you use for a different flavor... diet rite, or diet black cherry soda gives it a different taste than regular diet soda... which is just as good.

A hint- make enough to freeze and try not to eat the whole pan at once... IT'S GOOOOOOOOOOD!

Sounds good. I think i'll try it

It's not a stall as much as it is a mental thing. I'm worried that if I don't get out of the 200's soon (I weight 210 right now) that I might go higher then I go lower. Ya know? I only plan on doing Stillmans for a day or two.

Thanks for the info again Skinny Did I already mention you rock

Trying to get under the 200's as well... I want to hit 199 by Memorial Day.

I think if you do it for a few days it will be fine... don't stay on it too long but 10 or 11 lbs will no problem for Stillman to get rid of.

So you know how I feel It's like this annoying road block that if you don't get over then you might not for a long time

Oh and can you have parsley? I cut up some chicken breasts and put them in some water with salt, pepper, etc and wanted parsley but I wasn't sure it it was okay.

I think so... most of your seasonings are going to be fine... just watch any ingredients with sugar in them.

If your going to boil it, throw in some bouillon cubes for flavor... but ewwww I would not boil it. Just season it and bake it at 350, about 35 mins if it's a boneless breast abut an hour if it has bones.

angel did u see the thread about cooking on the GF???? use foil on top and below the chix, make sure u spray with PAM.(the foil)..this comes out much better and doesnt have those nasty burnt marks from the grill, BUT it takes longer to cook

I tried the cola chix 3 years ago and thought it was nasty.maybe cause I dont like diet cola? what i remember saying to bruce afterwards was it tasted like chix with ketchup
