Does STILLMAN'S keep you out of starvation mode?

Curious because I read something about stillmans and it said eat until satisfied of lean meat and eggs. But on Stillman thread here is says 600-700 calories per day. That seems like it would put you in starvation mode.

Anyone know?

I think it all depends on whether you buy into the "starvation mode" theory or not. I personally don't buy it. I started Stillman's eating around 1200 calories per day. Now somedays it is a struggle to get in 600-700. I've lost 16 pounds in 8 days and if you follow the starvation mode theory, I should not be losing.

Also, try doing a search on Kimmer....she doesn't buy the starvation mode either.

Wow, didn't realize it was a theory. So, is this the first time you been on Stillman's? If you've been on it before did you gain any back?

I want to give it a try starting tomorrow. Just scared my body will shut down.
Thanks for the info

Do you have any other tips on Stillmans.

Also my menu planned is
3 cans tuna in water
3 boiled egg. It comes to about 660 calories.
How does that sound?

This is the first time I have been on Stillman's. Hunni has been on it since the start. (She's the "ringleader" on the Stillman's challenge thread)

I would say your menu looks fine. I have been eating 2 fried eggs for breakfast, then 2 fried eggs, 2 slices ff american cheese, and 2 slices of canadian ham for lunch and dinner. Pretty much have stuck to that. Have had a few variations in there, but not much.

I wouldn't limit what you eat the first few days. Just like Atkins, eat until satisfied, but not stuffed. By the 3rd day, your appetite will be severly decreased.

Good luck to you! Come join us on the Stillman's thread!

at 'ringleader' ... more probably the only one *mad enough* to do it longer term

this is my opinion and experience only, but i too dont agree with the notion of starvation mode, i have been doing a mixture of Stillmans and Atkins for ages and have lost a total of 119lb since i started last May.... i still exercise regularly, have lots of energy and certainly have not 'shut down' also if you search back through some of the amazing fasting threads..... girls there fasted for upto 30 days, losing big amounts of weight and were still functioning well ( i have to mention that water fasting is not best done purely for weightloss... its just a great side effect )

if you want to join us over on the Stillmans thread... we would love to have you, those girls are full of support, advice and motivation,
re tips... keep it simple, its pretty much a no brainer when it comes to food, no %'s to worry about, as Kim said so wonderfully already... eat untill you are satisfied for a few days... and then you hit what Kimmer calls *real ketosis* and your appetite diminishes loads,
