Stillmans VS. Fat Fast...Bunch of questions...
Which have you all been on?
How long were you on it? How much did you lose? How long is it safe to be on either one? If you are already in ketosis will you still lose quickly on either one? If you have done both... which did you find easier to do and easier to lose on? Sample menu's from either?? Thanks!!!! |

I don't have many answer but I went on Stillmans last week for three days. I had been on a 6 week stall. I lost 6 pounds last week.
I ate boiled eggs for breakfast, and chicken or beef. lunch was a chuck of beef or chicken and cottage cheese dinner if i was hungry was a chuck of meat...i wasn't hungry at all I was in ketosis before i started it. I went back to stillmans for three days this week...it's easy to give up the veggies for three days. |

warmsummerbreeze,
So...are you just doing stillmans 3 days out of the week and eating induction the rest of the week? I started a fat fast today but I am wondering if I would do better on stillmans. I would be ok giving up the carbs too. |

i am on week 6 doing Stillmans, have lost 22lb so far on it,
Dr Stillman says it is safe to do untill you have lost all the extra fat, am/have been in ketosis and am still losing around 3/5lb a week, re which one... i think maybe its whatever suits you best, remember, what works for me, might not work for you sample menu : b- i slice bacon (nuked) 1 hb egg l- skinless/boneless chicken breast ( broiled) 1 hb egg d- another breast or .5 can tuna ( dry) 1 hb egg or cup lettuce, s- sf jello (if needed ) i eat this pretty much every day, sometimes i dont need the egg's at lunch and dinner .... i have to remind myself to eat alot of the time, never feel hungry, yes its boring at first, but i have pretty much got to the stage where food is just fuel, and what kind it is .... doesnt really matter, i still doubletake sometimes when i see myself typing this its so different to my old ways of eating, if you decide to try Stillmans, please pop over to the Stillmans challenge thread and say hello.... ask questions, they are a great bunch of gals, good luck with whatever you decide to try

I saw the foods Atkins had suggested for the Fat Fast. It just wasn't for me. I went on a modified meat fast, which is one of the fasts in Stillman's book, I believe. It worked for me to break the stall and lose 3 pounds (in two days), but I went back to my regular Induction menu after the two days cuz I decided I wanted some salads in my diet.
On the modified meat fast, I had 2 scrambled eggs for breakast, then 8 ounces of beef or chicken for both lunch and dinner. Actually, instead of calling it the modified meat fast, I should just call it the Stillman diet, because, that's basically what it was. I would still try Stillmans again if I get into another stall. This time, though, I won't wait 3 or 4 weeks to do it!

I'm just on day two of Stillman's. I am NOT hungry at all. I love it. Plan to do it one more day or maybe I will finish out the week -- who knows? -- I just know I love tweaking this WOE. . . for me!

Right now I am on day 2 of the FF. I will probably do FF for 5 days(if I am losing on it) then switch to stillmans for a few weeks. I am not worried about being hungry on either because I have had no appetite since being in ketosis.

I have done both.....i was stalled for a few weeks and tried stillman's....I wasn't all that hungry but I didn't lose...I tried twice. Now I am on FF and lost three pounds plus four I had gained back= 7 lbs. in first five day try. Wowser! I am not hungry at all and with stillman's I wouldn't register on the sticks whereas FF I do. Comparitively i am less hungry on FF. Also the food choices do seem weird.....but I'm loving it so much more than I thought possible. Some people, like myself, need more fat to lose. Try one, then the other and see what works for you. I wouldn't reccommend alternating the two.....it seems like too low of calories for an extended period of time....u don't want your body to get used to having too little because then when u go back to eating more u may gain. Hope this helps.

Yesterday I got done with a 7 day Stillmans, Lost one pound the second day and that was it. The days after I had I high activity day I felt like I went through the wringer. I'm glad I tried it, curiousity settled. Seems like all I could think about were vegetables the last couple days. Craving celery sounds crazy, but I had some the very next morning for breakfast.
Don't have any experience with the Fat Fast, but am curious so I will probably try that ..........later. I need some more vegetables right now. ![]() |

KSS yes I am doing Stillmans three days a week and Atkins Induction the other 4. It's really easy doing it like this IF your prepared. Which today I wasn't and ended up having to eat some veggies...which might have not be Stillmans but it won't throw me out of ketosis.
I'll do Stillmans an extra day. I'm down 7lbs since last Sunday. I can stand to lose about a lb a day. Life is good! |
