Please give examples of your STILLMAN'S MENUS

Please provide ounces of meat and cheese eaten at each meal.

Are you eating 6 small meals a day for better results verses 3 larger ones?

What is Farmer's cheese and Pot cheese?

Deborah...good morning!!

The menu's really vary quite a bit for Stillman's since some do the original Stillman's, which is VERY strict, some add things like yogurt, fat free cheeses etc...and some even add veggies. I just wanted to let you know about that first.

I, myself, am doing the more strict version which is basically all protein and gets you into ketosis pretty quick. I don't believe that there are any %'s to follow as far as fat/carbs/prot, however, the original Stillman's diet was between 500-600 calories per day.

This is a sample menu for me...

B: eggs (scrambled) w/ nonstick spray, coffee (usually 1 or 2 eggs)...some eat alot more at breakfast, but I eat every three hours or so.

L: 4 oz. ground sirloin burger w/ mustard (sometimes 1/2 c. of cottage cheese)

S: fat free chicken broth

D: boiled chicken (about 3 or 4 oz.)

S: more boiled chicken or a sugar free jello.

Now the chicken broth and sugar free jello weren't really part of the original diet so I don't always eat those. Usually if I don't eat them I eat another 3 oz. of lean protein. I am not crazy about hard boiled eggs or I would eat them, alot of people do on Stillman's. Hope this helps...

Nessy

P.S. Farmer's and Pot cheese, i think, are like drained cottage cheeses...you probably can find them at some grocery stores, not sure I don't use them. Maybe someone else can give more info on that.

Hi nessyrae!

Thank you so much for posting. Great tips! I DO WANT the STRICT version of Stillman's because I have been doing the Water Fast (don't know how much longer) but I want to have a plan set to continue my rapid weight loss when I get off the fast.
At this point the strict version of Stillman's would not be restrictive for me at all, it would be an abundant gift after the water fast. LOL

WOW Deborah! The water fast?? Is that just water? I don't know if I could do that. Hey that's great if you are losing well...the strict version of stillmans would definately be right after the water fast. Good luck!

I have lost almost 10 lbs in one week....strict stillmans. It's not hard....simply pick a lean protein and thats it. No fats or carbs or anything. I don't even use the fat free mayo or anything like that. I have eaten fat free cottage cheese, but other than that just lean meats. And I keep my calories to 600 or less.

Yes, just water.

I could not get the scale to move AT ALL after induction and kept playing with the same 4 pounds up and down. I became so frustrated, angry and desparate and this is working. My keto stix are now dark purple for the first time.

My allergies have gone away, which is HUGE. I have been using Afrin for the past 20 yrs and I have not used it in the last 5 days!
I was losing my ability to smell certain things at times and I actually was able to smell the rain the other day. A simple thing, but big to me.

So, something I was eating was causing an allergic reaction, so now I plan to re-introduce foods one at a time and figure out which is the culprit.

Deborah...that's great no allergies! Hopefully you find the culprit. I was stalled right after induction too. Good luck on Stillman's and be sure to visit us at the Stillman challenge daily!

DebT, just wanted to add that if you come from the water fast to Stillman's, you'll probably gain about 3-4 pounds the first few days. Stillman's doesn't have any veggies (fiber), so the protein pretty much sits in your colon until more protein pushes it out -- sorry to be so graphic!!! You're still losing body fat (you'll see your clothes get loser, but the scale will be delayed).

I'm explaining so you don't think fasting had anything to do with the "gain".

My Stillman's menu were as follows:

B - 2 eggs (hard boiled, soft boiled), no nonstick spray because of the odor!

L - 2 chicken legs or leg/thigh

D - 2 thin cut pork chops (all fat removed) or more chicken

Bev - diet sodas, all types, as much as I wanted

Not very sexy, huh?

Hey Kimmer!

Thanks for the input. What about taking phylliums husk pills with Stillman's to fix that prob?

While we are on the subject of breaking the water fast, what diet would you recommend? KISS, Stillmans etc.??? What would you do?

I followed Stillman for about three weeks - was about all I could handle but it worked! Broke a big stall and lost about 10 pounds in the process. My menu was B - 2 boiled eggs, L - Plain tuna and a boiled egg or left over baked chicken, D - More chicken or lean pork chops (2) and a salad with no dressing consisting of lettuce, cucumber, and celery. I also drank about 160 oz. of water and still had to have my 3 cups of coffee (1/2 caffeine). I absolutely love the chicken breast baked with Frank's hot sauce. It was a real big asset to me because it gave me a little extra zest in my eating. Good luck! I'm a slow loser and was real pleased with the 10 lbs.

Deb, I think psyllium would be a great idea!

What I would do (depending on how much you have to lose), is stay with Stillman's, but add 2 small mixed salads a day with lowfat or nonfat salad dressing -- tired of salad? Try a SMALL amount of other veggie, really watch the butter. I'm guessing this is similar to KISS? If so, that's what I recommend.

BTW, someone just PMd me that she started Stillman's last Friday and has lost 9 pounds! She's shy about posting so I don't want to mention her name until she makes an 'appearance'.

Deb, funny you should mention that! When people criticized the low calories in my Fitday, I couldn't figure it out (first, why anyone would care, LOL?) ... after nothing but water for 45 days, 800 calories is like a luxurious feast!

I live in the South and don't know if Frank's hot sauce is only found there or not. But I can find it at any grocery store around; Super Walmart, Kroger, BiLo, Winn-Dixie, Publix and the list goes on.

Hunni! I just had to say I LOVED your ODE TO THE WOOSH FAIRY! YOu should put that in your siggy.

Ode to the Whoosh Fairy

Now I lay me down to sleep...
A cup of splenda at my feet...
I'll be good and drink my water --
Leave the grapejuice for my daughter..
I promise to eat all my eggs..
Now take those bulges from my legs..
I'll eat my pork -- I'll eat a steer..
Just takes these bumps from my rear..
I'll never even look at jelly..
Please take the blub out of my belly..
These lips will never touch a sweet
Oh, if only... I could see my feet..
So, please tonight before I wake..
A few more pounds Whoosh Fairy Take!

RE: What is farmer's cheese

FARMERS CHEESE

Cottage cheese is the fresh drained curds of slightly soured, low fat pasteurized milk. When the curds are drained, the cheese is called cottage cheese; allow the curds to drain longer and it is called pot cheese. Press the remaining moisture out so it becomes drier and crumbly, and it is called farmer's cheese.

Thanks EW1!

I would assume this is not a Walmart item, since I've never seen it.

Anyone buying this stuff? If so where?

edited: I tried Hickory Farms (on-line)
1. We don't even have a Hickory Farms in Oklahoma, which doesn't surprise me.
2. Hickory Farms doesn't have Farmers cheese of Pot Cheese.

And the search is on.

Just found this:

Farmers' cheese, sometimes referred to as Pot cheese, is cottage cheese from which the liquid has been pressed. It is made from cow's milk and is fresh, not aged, which accounts for its mild flavor. It usually has a fairly soft texture, although some very dry, crumbly farmer's cheese is sold in loaves. Look for the cheese in a specialty cheese shop, gourmet store, or at a farmer's market.

MAybe I will just keep life simple and eat the cottage cheese.

I bet you could use the straining technique like making the yocheese and come out with a drier cottage cheese. WHATEVER.

Farmers/Pot Cheese in Oklahoma

Deborah,

You should be able to find the Farmers/Pot cheese at Albertson's or SuperWalmart in Tulsa. It should be in the cases around the deli with the specialty cheeses. You may try the Wal-Mart Family Market (the Wal-Mart grocery only store) in Jenks.

What happens when you come off of Stillmans. I have been toying with the idea. I am really happy with my weight loss so far, but would really like to have 10 more pounds off in the next 2 weeks. (Going on vacation)
When you get off Stillmans and go back to Atkins, do you gain back any of that weight you have lost since you are putting fat back into your diet?

KSS... hi, i believe some ppl have successfully used riccotta instead.... am just starting my 6th week on Stillmans and personally i just go without and stick to the lean meat, fish, eggs and a little salad veg occasionally

Aluce..... not having gone back to Atkins thus far, i'm not sure about that, i do know some ppl that did Atkins on the weekend and Stillmans weekdays, i think they had a small gain during their Atkins days, but the loss on Stillmans was greater than and the weekly net weight was a loss
