Who else started on Stillmans today?

I did. I'm hoping to kick myself back into ketosis and get the weight to start coming off again.

Beginning weight...191.8

I'm still not sure if I'm going to do this for 3 days or the total 5.

I have everything for 5 days so may try that.

My husband and I started today! I even had coffee this AM without cream.

We are planning to do it 3 days to get our metabolism moving a bit.

Good luck!

It's a no carb meat, cheese and egg diet.

There are links in other threads.

I'm using it as a tool to help start kick things back into action.

I just realized that I made a mistake tho.... I bought regular cottage cheese opposed to skim. I don't have a choice but to eat it for lunch, since that is what I brought to work.

ABGirl. I'm not going to do any of the recipes. I'm sticking strickly to what it says on the link.

For short term it shouldn't be too difficult. Just think how great those veggies are gonna taste when we go back to Atkins...lol

slowmoe318 - wow...I sure hope i share your success. I've been stuck at 193 for the longest. I got a new scale...but dont' believe that weight yet....lol..not until Friday!

JodeEye - Great...it's more fun and much easier when there are others to talk to and compare notes with.

Ilovecats! Don't you hate when you do things like that...I made the mistake of bringing sausage along with the other means I cooked. Dang the sausage looks so much more tasty then the meats I CAN have...lol...BTW - I love cats too! we have 4 kittens and 3 adult cats. They are such sweeties. But the two new puppies are upsetting the balance...lol

My menu for the day so far is...

B - 2 boiled eggs a small piece of tenderized steak.

L - Not sure...I think cottage cheese and a slice of beef steak.

D - Grilled chicken...if the kids leave me any...if not then roasted chicken breast strips.

And for a snack lets see....maybe I'll have....ummm...more water...

How much water do you guys drink?

I try to get in at least 144oz a day. Some days more some days less but always at least 100.

I started today, too! I cannot eat another egg, though because I am sooooo sick of them! Can we keep taking our CLA with this, or do we have to wait until we stop in a few days? So far today I had:

B: Nada
L: about 4 oz. cut up chicken in a bag
D: Dunno yet, I'll have to check the freezer.

I just went to the store yesterday, I should have something that is o.k. I bought ground chicken breast, is it o.k. to fry in a skilllet like hamburger meat on this? I don't know any other way to cook it since it is ground. Let me know if there are any suggestions if I can't fry it!

I don't use them. I did at first but they usually have a lot of sodium in it and made me retain water.

I've read the more you can stay away from processed foods the better.

Armour I think is the brand makes a ready cooked meat that is pretty good. They all have gravey so they show 2 or 3 carbs per serving, I like them, I just drain off the gravy and eat the meat.

I keep them in the fridge here at work as well as my boxed veggies I like with them. I eat in at work about 4 days out of 5.

Wow Susan that is great!

I sure would like to lose 5 lbs. To get below 190 is a mini-goal of mine.

Is anyone else just not hungry? I ate breakfast at 7:30am and it's 1:30pm and I'm just now feeling like I should eat.

So far so good.

Menu thus far:

B: one HB egg and coffee with splenda (no cream)
Lunch: 8 oz steak - about 2 teaspoons of regular cottage cheese (that was a mistake and I am planning on stopping at the store on my home from work).
Dinner: Probably chicken.

I am trying to get at least 100 oz of water, I am closing in on 90 oz.

Night time is always the hardest time for me.

I weigh every morning! I don't get discouraged, it motivates me! Can we grill meats on Stillman? That is usually how I cook mine. Looks like we can just bake, broil or boil..... Let me know!

I would think that grilling would be one of the better ways to cook meat. The fat usually drops off in the process.

I have to agree with Ilovecats. Grilling I would imagine is good.

I sure hope so...I plan on having grilled chicken for dinner.

I'm going to weigh every morning on my new scale at home...see if the carbs i had on saturday come back to haunt me.

it will be a learning experience I think.

Grilling is an excellent way to cook meat on Stillmans. I have done Stillmans a couple of times since being on this WOE (I lose real slow) and I grilled half the time.

I have a question though. When I have done Stillmans before I had my own personal office now I have a new job (due to layoffs ) and I now sit at a desk where people can walk by and see what I am eating. I would think my regular hard boil egg as a snack might smell and not look to good. Can anyone think of any other snacks that do not look "weird" to others?

Thanks

With only being able to have cottage cheese, boiled eggs and meat there isn't a very big choice.

Maybe peel the egg in the kitchen and cut it in there then eat it.

People are gonna snicker no matter what...lol

Hunni - wow 5 lbs a week. I wish I could stick to this for longer then a week...but I miss my veggies too much.

I think though that a few days a month I could handle.

BUT...if I go back to ATkins and stop losing weight...I'm right back here...

NOTHING tastes as good as skinny feels!!!!

Terri..... i am just into my 5th week, and loving it, a couple of days a month or even a week isnt soo long that you will start missing anything, and almost everyone i know that does it... looses, if you are following the plan.... or even modifying it a little with some salad occasionally, theres really no way that you cant loose !!

good luck with it,

Thanks Hunni. I've been doing Atkins since May 1st of this year. I was doing so well then blamo...the weightloss just stopped.

I tried everything that everyone suggested except listening to my body...finally I decided to try it and I think finally I've hit on what works for me.

Of course I have Kimmer to thank for that...lol
