Start Date: August 1, 2013!
** JANUARY CHALLENGE **

I am new to the SB Diet. I was doing Atkins for the past 5 months and lost 50 lbs, but am now stalling. I hope to finally reach goal by March and will try the South Beach approach.

Anyone else just starting out?

I hope to lose at least 5 lbs by the end of January (in 8 days).

Please share your weight loss progress on this plan.

I'm looking at your numbers and you are steadily losing in a way that most people would give an arm for. You aren't stalling, in fact I'm surprised that your rate of loss didn't slow down way before now. I'd keep on with what you're doing.

While this is certainly a healthy way to eat and offers more flexibility, switching to South Beach isn't going to get 5 lbs off in 8 days. In fact,most people who make the switch see a gain of a few pounds before they start losing again. I'd hate for you to be disappointed if you don't lose a certain amount in a time frame . Best wishes to you!

I can attest to the gain from a few years ago.. I started out on Atkins (lost 30lbs or so, never gained that back!) and did gain about 3/4lbs when I switched before it came off.
