I went shopping today for phase one foods. I bought lots of goodies, & now I need to find some recipes. I saw a lot of great sounding dishes last night on this site. I like to cook & don't ususally follow recipes, but it is a little different when you have to watch your carbs I'm sure I will come up with something.

Two fudgesickles are allowed daily.

Two fudgesickles, that is great. I'm not a big sweet eater but i really am missing my fruit. I usually eat at least 3 or 4 pieces of fruit a day. Also a big bread eater.

Don't worry! In less than 2 weeks you will be able to start having fruit again! Those frozen treats have really helped me as I am chocolate's biggest fan. You might be also able to find frozen fruit/Popsicles, too. That will at least give you the taste of fruit. We found frozen lime and strawberry pops when we were on vacation. We were big bread eaters too before starting SB. Now I can be satisfied with a small amount.

Going on my eighth day. I have lost 9 pounds, which is great. I am really needing something. I'm not sure what. I am a creative cook but nothing is satisfying me so I find myself not eating much of anything. I know that something has to give. Has anyone else felt this way?

Are you having the munchies or are you just feeling lacking? One thing I can think of is to not go TOO low in fat. When I need a little something, I have a spot of hot tea. Are you getting the snacks in?

I felt that way. Nothing satisfied and I always felt hungry even when sticking to plan completely. One day I was ready to quit and tried butter beans and a small steak and that got me over that bad spot and I finally felt full. It was easier for me after that. But I never lost as quickly as you! Keep up the great work!!

I really don't know. Sometimes I am afraid I have eaten too much because I wait too long to eat. I find it really hard to find things to take with me to work so I skip lunch & overeat at dinner. I don't think I am eating the wrong foods but it could be that I am not getting the right ballance, so I am trying to be stricter with the combonations that I eat. What are some of the things you guys take with you to work for lunch?

Have you tried taking romaine lettuce leaves with roast beef to make a wrap? Or hummus and celery sticks? You can make vegetable quiches in muffin tins and reheat that at work. Light string cheese? I like Laughing Cow light cheese spread on celery stalks, too. You can wash veggies and put in ziplock bag and carry that in your purse so you can snack on that to keep you from getting hungry. Hope this helps!

I hope you come back and check-in with us! 9lbs was quite an accomplishment.. nearly 1/3 of the weight you wanted to lose!

Hi Summer
I used to take a small can of v-8 and 2 low fat mozzarella sticks to work with me. I would never eat breakfast before leaving the house, so I would have that as my breakfast/snack before lunch. It got me over the hump.

Hi Glitter, It's been 5 weeks now & I am down 15 pounds. After phase one I didn't think any more weight was going to come off, & I wanted to give up but for some reason I just couldn't put those sweets in my mouth. After a week or so I started to see the scales go down. Not as fast as I would like of course, but when I put it all in perspective, 15 lbs. in five weeks is nothing to bee disapointed in. I have had a few days of wrong foods. It isn't easy when you have dinner meetings & you don't have choices but I just eat the least offensive foods & go back onto phase one for a day or two. I have a work lunchen Friday & I am sure the choices will be slim, but I am not giving up & it really isn't that hard anymore. Especially when I can get out some of my winter clothes & fit back into them.

You are doing a great job and doing the best you can. That is a great start to making this a life change!!!

Don't be afraid to ask for better choices. Working in IT over the years has usually meant if there is an emergency or planned maintenance for extended hours, the boss usually orders pizza. I asked for salad and had no problems. I did the same thing when I moved jobs. Usually an intern has handled the order, they had to go ask but still not a big deal. Even at lunch meetings, I can usually get a plain salad and I take out the middles of the sandwiches for some protein.
