I haven't been on SB for sometime so I don't remember if greek yogurt is a food choice. But I love Greek Fage 0%yogurt with frozen strawberries or black berries with some sweetner and a bit of coconut unsweetend milk or unsweetened almond milk to thin it a bit. You can also add ice cubes if so desired.Just mix it all up in a blender for a yummy smoothie

I have also used HOOD Carbcountdown Dairy drink love it too!!!

I put Robb Wolf Whey protein powder into my greek yogurt and have that with blueberries. Sometimes I'll add flax meal to that and eat out of a bowl. Sometimes I have low fat sm. curd cottage cheese instead of the gk yogurt. I change back and forth.

Sorry to hear of your loss Wiz...my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Hi Radmom and Berta and ofcourse Rose

And anyone else that I may have forgot, and hello to the newbies

I signed up again on the SB website...I figured if I pay my dues that will hold me more accountable. Restarted today and had a good day. Life is good, taking some new directions and I'm done with the excuses!

We are filled with great sadness.

I'll be back later this week after all the arrangements are over. Think good thoughts for us, the next couple days are going to be very challenging.

And I can't even talk about what I'm eating...between eating cafeteria food from the hospital to having all my neighbors drop off cartloads of food, it's been very non-SB friendly. Oh well, back to normal later this week.
For you and your family Wiz.Sorry for your loss.

Hello all,

Thanks for your kind words and thoughts. It was a very tough week. My MiL was a lifelong resident of our town and was beloved by many. We even had ladies we never met that she knew from the gym coming to the wake and/or church service. It was an outpouring of love.

And of course, many of our cousins, Aunts, Uncles, etc. who we rarely get to see were here all week. I always see that as being the silver lining in the cloud, it's so good to catch up - even when it is for a sad reason.

In any case, the good news is that all the fatty, carby foods are out of my house! I ran 5 miles this morning, am eating egg beaters with veggies, have a nice salad planned for lunch, etc. Both my husband and I were very ready to get back into our routine.

But with the lack of exercise, the truckloads of food that were delivered to my house (we hosted the repast following the memorial service at the church for 85 people and about 25 family members the night before!), and just general mindless eating...I have not weighed in. Maybe Monday morning!

Thanks again for your kind words.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss Wiz but it is great to know she was so loved.

I am coming back here after years since I last done this diet. I was doing good and tracked my meals and have all my old notes but I can not put my hand on my book. I started phase 1 today and I believe I done pretty good. I do remember it is not about counting carbs and had to reninforce that today when I logged my food into my journal and saw the one cup of milk was 11g's hahaha

I look forward to getting back on track!

back. You can use the stickies for the most basic information until you find your book. And ask any question you have.

Wow, so good to get back into my normal routine. Exercise, good eating, and yes, even work! It keeps me sane in times of trouble.

I did finally weigh in, and no surprise, I was up 2.2lbs. But I am doing some strict Phase 1 days and hope to be back where I was by Friday.

And glad to see you joined us lc_b3mom!! Yes, if you are coming from a very low carb diet, SB can take some getting used to. It's all about good carbs - not counting them! You may find that some carbs impact you more than others, but once you find the right balance that fits your metabolism - it's a plan you can stay on for life.

Hope all is well with everyone!!

Yes, Rose, I totally agree. Both my husband and I will continue to have moments of sadness, but by keeping busy - we're not thinking about it 24x7. Although I still cry a bit every morning when I run by myself. She was such a huge part of our every day life since she lived around the corner.

But on a much happier note...I weighed in the morning and those extra lbs were gone. Yea! Nothing like a couple of strict days to get yourself back on track.

Folks, I made a good, easy Phase 2 dinner (had carrots in it, which I eat all the time anyway. )

You julienne about a half cup of baby carrots, half cup of (dry) sun-dried tomatoes, and mince 2 cloves of garlic. Saute with 2 breasts of boneless chicken that have been cut into strips. Add in 1 teas of fennel seeds, about a half cup of white wine (or broth) and cook on low until about half the wine has evaporated. Top with some parm cheese. My husband loves this dish!

later gang!

I just realized my 2 weeks will be up on the 10th and we leave for our first vacation in years on Sept 6th and come back on the 10th. I already have some meals grilled and in the freezer for our trip like steaks and chicken breast but now I realize I am going to have to plan even more. I know there will be two days we are on the beach all day and we usually do sandwiches for convenience but I am going to need something portable and easy. I am going to look into chicken salad. My kids love it wrapped in a tortilla and I could make me one wrapped in lettuce and then carry some pepper strips and grape tomatoes maybe... Wow I am really going to have to do some study to stay on plan for this trip because my bunch loves to eat out and eat junk on trips!!

I live in a beach town and I often take chicken salad or tuna salad to the beach. I use the small plastic containers from things like parm cheese or fresh salsa and I put lettuce, other veggies as desired, and then top with either plain chicken, or tuna/chicken salad. Pack a plastic fork and you are good to go! I then toss the plastic container in the recyling bin at the beach so there is no cleanup! And whatever I am having, I make into a sandwich for my husband.

Good luck!!

I am on day 6 of my first week on phase 1 and my kids went to stay with their grandparents tonight and my mom informs me she is fixing chicken n' dumplings for lunch tomorrow. she makes the best dumplings!! Any other time I would eat just a little and swear I was getting back on track then go the beach this coming up weekend and put another 10 lbs on over the next year while waiting to starting over again....One day at a time!!
