I Need Some Help and Advice

Hello! I have been doing Atkins Induction since April. I did Atkins back in 2004 lost 55 lbs and kept it off until I got PG with my daughter in 2008. The second time around is much harder. I am looking to start South Beach because I need more options. I have gotten to the point that I don't even want to eat because it's the same over and over again. I have been eating an Atkins shake and salad for lunch and that is about it. I think I am stuck because I am not eating enough. Could you please look at the following menu and tell me if this is a good South Beach menu.

B-Atkins Shake,
S hard boiled egg, low fat yogert
L grilled chicken breast salad w/cheese and bacon
s fruit salad (berries, melon, and grapes)
D turkey burger (no bun) Protein Bar

I miss fruit and I miss yogert. Any advice you can give me would be greatly excepted!!!!!!

No, it's not a good menu. Do you have the book? You need protein and veggies at every "meal" and there are practically no veggies there. Never eat fruit by itself, put some protein with it. Lose the shakes and bars. If you don't have the book right now, look at the stickies at the top of the main SB page for menu plans to get an idea of how to put meals together. SB relies heavily on veggies and coming from Atkins, it hard to wrap your mind around all those veggies at first. Since you have been on Atkins induction, you can slide right into phase 2 with some fruits, but keep to small portions and stick to the phase 1 veggies for a while. LF sugar-free yogurt is fine anytime. I combine yogurt with fresh fruit for a delicious snack. If you follow the plan as written, you should do fine. Don't freak if you gain a pound or two, since your induction menus were so limited. to the beach!

Thank you!!!!! I am going to get the book and will look at the stickies. I am excited to get on a different plan one that will help teach me a life long way to eat and give me some different choices. I will do some research from the book and the stickies and come up with a better menu to post. I am expecting to gain a couple pounds since I have not been eating much these days which I know is not good! I will keep you posted!!!!!

I think SB is the very best way to eat for lifelong health. Of course, I'm biased. Once you get the hang of it, you'll love it! Come over and join in on the June thread.June - Summer is coming!
