I thought I blew it...I was at an antique auction today and ended up eating while there. The only remotely good choice was a home-made vegetable, chicken and barley soup. I could not for the life of me remember if barley was on the Ph 2 list or not.

But yes! It is legal.

You always did look good in wings, Rose.

FYI. We went out to a local pub and watched one of my favs, the Temple Owls go down in double OT. Darn it. But, I had a great petite filet coated in peppercorns with this huge helping of broccoli (I was able to sub a veggie for the starch!!) My husband and I split a tasty mozzarella pinwheel app. Fresh mozzarella cheese wrapped around fresh spinah, roasted red pepper, and tomato. Delish! And yes, I did have wine - but hey, it is on the Ph 2 food list.

That has to be one of the most OP Saturdays I've had in a while....now I just need to avoid any temptations today.

Oh, you two are too funny.

I made it through without eating cookies or cake or soda bread. These monthly tea parties are killing me.

Eating a huge salad right now. (Dons halo.)

Ok I'm not in for the weekend challenge

I caved. I have trouble figuring out what to eat because SBD equals healthy food which equals cooking and I didn't plan and I was hungry and hubby and kids wanted mexican and well I will just leave it at that...

Grrrrrrrr. I'm so annoyed. I hope you all did better that I did!

Sure, let's do it! I will commit to eating completely on plan until I take off for Munich (on business) next Saturday. Once I am on a 9.5 hour plane trip, at the mercy of their food selections, all bets are off.

In fact, what I want to do is hold off on my weigh-in until Friday morning.

I'm having leftovers tonight...I made a super ragout last night, with chicken breast meat, spicy low fat chicken sausage, tomatoes, onion, garlic, carrots, fennel seed, rosemary, etc. Loads of flavor, yum.

Come on gang!! Here's a super good week.

Ok. We'll do it. I'm getting REALLY frustrated with these four pounds. I keep bouncing down and up, down one-up one, down two-up two, down two-up one, down one-up two. Get the drift?

Yup, I know exactly what you mean! I seem to have dropped 3 lbs "permanently" since January, but then the next 3 lbs have been on and off every other week. It is so frustrating.

Well, yesterday was another good day of eating. I had a few too many blueberries (gosh, they were good ), but hey, they are OP. The rule this week is no off plan foods.

Heading to the supermarket today, the fridge is looking pretty bare! I don't know about you all, but fresh produce is wildly expensive right now in NJ. It is tough to find any bargains! I usually plan my weekly menus around whatever veggies are on sale that week - but really, nothing much is on sale.

By the way, I had a great 5-mile run today. My ankle appears to be fully healed!! Yea!!

Sorry to thread jack, and not sure if this is the place to ask, but was just curious have any of you switched from atkins to south beach??..I am considering switching due to very high cholesterol numbers that are scary to me....just wondering..thanks for any input you can pass on to me...I am not on typical atkins but have been on vlc ( less than 5 carbs a day)...

Well, at one point, many years ago, I did do Atkins but to be honest - it was just too much protein for me. But hey, I've also done Weight Watchers and a host of other diet plans!

I like the variety of SB. I really, really enjoy all my veggies, fruits, etc. I am not a big grain eater, although I do love sweet potatoes. Maybe once or twice a week I have some type of grain, like a whole wheat english muffin.

If you decide to join us, this is the right place. Our fearless leader , Rose, starts a new thread once a month and this is where we talk about our issues, menus, etc.

ty for your help wiz..I am not much of a grain eater nor a veggie eater and LOVE my meats...BUT if it is going to take me to take changing my likes to better my health that is what I will do...I thought dropping the weight, exercising and meds were the answer, but obviously not...:0(

Hi Missouri!

Our fearless leader, Rose () is also a Librarian!!!!

I believe alot of folks have made the switch - it's just a healthier way of eating, IMO, and more variety as well.........I did do Atkins a while ago, and found it was too restrictive for me.

Thanks Wiz, you're much too kind. The good news is that I've almost lost the 8 pounds that my new scale so rudely added to my weight last month, so my stats over there will finally be correct again. I guess that's a short-term goal in itself. Maybe I should alternate between the two. When I'm having a bad day I'll use the 'happy scale' and when I'm having a good day I'll use the 'scale of truth'.

HELLO everyone!

I've been MIA for AWHILE now.... thought I'd drop a line. Been busy as everyone is these days. Seems like the SCALE is the most popular subject. Mine is STUCK-- so...... no comments.

I've been trying to stick to the salads... I REALLY DO NOT like salmon (other than GRILLED)-- a little EXPENSIVE now as everything else! So-- I tried the salmon in the POUCH... mixed w/ LIGHT mayo and GREEK yogurt and mixed in the salad today. I ATE it all...WISH I would LOVE it- but don't!

incorporating FISH is really hard for me!

I'm kinda SICK of eating MEAT!

Any good mild FISH ideas??????
