Hi everyone I've been lurking for a month and thought I would stop that and be active. New Year and new determination yadda yadda blah. DH and I finished P1 and we are into our second week of P2. We both feel really good. Foods been great. Meal planning is coming along. I even found an activity I like. Zumba on the Ps3 move. I love all dancing shows and have always wanted to do it but never had the umph to. Well now I can in the privacy of my own home and it is a blast. Now I want to try a real zumba class in front of other people *gasp*

Lots of familiar folks. Love that! I'm so glad to see people who continue to make this a lifestyle and not just the dreaded D word.

Hi Elaine,

You know I wonder if the holiday carb indulgences get our blood sugar fluctuating up and down so wildly that the cravings and crashes put us back into binge-eating mode. I found that there was really no way through it except to eat on-plan, tough out the hunger pangs, and say 'no' to myself a lot. After a few days everything normalized again and I was back in the saddle.

Killer bike by the way! If I ever lose this big gut hanging in front of me I might even fit in the rear seat of that monster.

Hang in there!

Hi, Berta. This looks really good. That is turkey bacon, right? That's about all I would be able to eat on that schedule. Actually my days look like that sometimes. Now, post menus for a few more days and let's see what the pattern is.

How is your mom doing?

Well I made a big pot of vegetarian chili with the tempeh last night and the most polite thing I can say about the flavor is that it didn't actually cause me to throw up. I don't think I'll be trying that again. I do love experimenting with new foods though and I'm sure my lack of culinary skills had much to do with it. But nonetheless... I'll just be saying no to tempeh in the future.

Oh I would never take another person's advice about something like that. I like way too many foods that other people don't like. If we don't experiment with new foods for ourselves, we miss out on a lot of good stuff!

Just wanted to say hello. Work has been crazy and I have gotten sick (again). Going into work again this morning

If I have any advice to offer others, it is to freeze single portions of meals when you cook. If you take the time to make yourself a yummy phase 1 or 2 meal, soup, stew, casserole....make extra and freeze some single portions in those nifty reusable Glad containers. This has really saved me! When I have been snowed in and couldnt replenish groceries on time, when I worked too much and was too tired to cook, sick and not feeling like cooking, called into work atleast the last minute and need a meal for there. I have been doing it for months...and really..these past few days, I was so grateful they were there. And you are never wasting!

Ok, enough about that. Menu today: (Called in again)

2 scrambled eggs with cheese,V8

yogurt with nuts

lettuce, onion, olives with scoop of chicken salad (I made it, OP)

LF cottage cheese, fruit (cantelope, strawberries, blueberries)

Hope everyone is well, Have a great day!

Hello all,

Finally, I am home all week - no business travel. I had such good intentions to be OP, but all these flights and business meals out really sabotaged me the last 2 weeks. I am just spinning my wheels, not really losing.

So I hope to see some progress this week. Lots of veggies, lots of water, lots of exercise!!

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Welcome back Texoma!!

wiz staying OP and travel is so hard sometimes. I always have the best intentions, and try to plan ahead; but sometimes it is just out of your control. Im traveling again coast to coast in a couple of weeks and already dreading food choices. I even eat when Im NOT hungry sometimes if there is a good choice available to me, instead of setting myself up to fail later. It is so hard though.

lanie I was in this same boat you are in FOR MONTHS! Just could not get back OP for the life of me. I thought I was motivated; but the cravings took over. I would do great all day, and then blow it at night after supper before bed. What I have found for me, is it takes me about 4 days on phase 1 to get the cravings under control. Once they are under control again, getting back on track isnt so hard. It's just getting through those first 4 days...lol

Well I'm excited, weighed in this morning and down 1.5 lbs! Not gonna complain about it slowly coming off, because it is staying off. Feeling a little better today too, so gonna try some Callanetics again.

Hello to everyone else!!! Hope everyone is doing great!

We are getting MORE snow here in the NE....so I'm gonna cook and freeze today! Probably will make my DD's a baked dessert treat for tonight (I love to bake)

Menu:

2 scrambled eggs, cheese, V8

celery with chunky peanut butter

salad with grilled chicken breast

Small portion of whole wheat spaghetti, homemade OP sauce with sausage and meatball (pulling the sauce out of the freezer, will just keep in mind portion sizes for this meal) green salad

cheese stick, glass of white wine

Have a great day!

Ugh! When I get stressed my mind turns to food. I'm stress over vacation of all things. Vacation is turning into vacations and we just can't make two cross country trips in the same summer. Flying a whole family ANYWHERE is sooooo expensive. I'm stressed and don't know how to tell the extended family that we have to choose one over the other. Blahhhh

B Coffee, coffee, carbmasters yogurt
L 2 egg omelet w/ turkey sausage and rf cheese
S Clementine
D 1 enchilada made with a ww flatout tortilla, refried beans.
S sf fudgesicle
Let's see if I can critique my own menu. The breakfast is skimpy. Eat more. Where's the vegetables? Lunch, put some spinach on that omelet! Dinner, where's the vegetables? Are you drinking your water? ... no I didn't *hangs head in shame*
I'm going to go put a 64oz pitch of water in the freeze for tomorrow. Man I make some kickin enchiladas!!!!
We have been iced in and I'm going nuts!!!
