Protein Shakes??

Can someone direct me to some Phase 1 friendly Protein Shakes that are actually good?? I have always enjoyed the Muscle Milk Protein Shakes but I am not sure how those equate in the South Beach world? They have 22g of Protein, 12 Carbs, Dietary Fiber 2g, Sugars 5g. Does anyone know? Any information would be great!

Thanks!!

I do not know what SB phase 1 allows but I will tell you that my new favorite protein shake is Dymatize Elite Whey in Choc Mint or Cafe Mocha (choc coffee). One serving is mixed with 6 oz water giving about 115 cal, 24 g protein, and 2 to 2.5 g carbs. Post workout, I usually have 2 servings mixed with 12 oz water and some crushed ice.

BTW: Muscle Milk are generally considered a pretty high carb protein shake. There are many protein shakes out there with much fewer carbs.

Thanks so much for the info! Do you know what maybe the max carb count I should look out for? Just so that I know for a benchmark.

thanks!

Hi Newbie!

You would be better off staying away from all those canned/packaged shakes......you'd be better off making your own.

Most of us who have been around awhile use a combo of Yogurt (Fage is wonderful), ice, milk, extracts, protein powder....once you move on to p2 you can add other OP ingredients and fruit!

Absolutely. Find a good, clean protein powder and make your own.
