New and nervous

Hi All,

I am officially starting SB tomorrow (though dinner tonight is going to be a SB meal...) and I am nervous even posting that. I have started/stopped many plans over the last few years and hope that I actually move forward this time. I usually sabotage myself a few days in and then throw in the towel altogether-but SB looks to be doable and I have a new outlook this time. I guess it's fear of success that holds me back-hopefully with the support I'm witnessing here, I will succeed this time!

I haven't stepped on a scale since early summer and will do that tomorrow am. I know I need to lose in the 60lb range-the reality of that is daunting but I am comitted to working through it! DH and I formed an exercise plan this weekend so I will hit the gym in the morning-no sense letting that membership gather dust anymore!

I look forward to joining all of you with diminishing numbers!

Dear Pixie, South Beach is probably the most "doable" for life plan there is. It was developed in the beginning for heart health and the weight loss was a surprising side effect.

This is the most supportive group around, in my opinion. There are many successful South Beachers here who are more than willing to help. We will tell it like it is, but in a supportive way.

There are more than a few who have lost 50-60-even 100 lbs or more, so we know the trials and will lift you up when you need it. Please join the new check-in thread tomorrow; it helps to talk to friends.

Hi Pixie,
to the Beach! I started off in a similar position to you over 2 years ago, and I lost 70 pounds while following this plan. (I am up a little bit from my lowest low). As Rose said, this is a plan for life. We have a great support system on the daily check-in thread. Hope you'll join us!

Hi Pixie!

Another SB Vet here; I have been following this way of life for almost 2.5 years and it is VERY doable and for LIFE! I never feel deprived and know this is a weight loss plan, but it really is a very healthy way of eating that includes all the important things.....

Stop in the daily thread and say hi and get some great support - there are folks there in all phases so you will get some great support!

Here is the link; Rose starts us up each and every Sunday/Monday for the new week!

Welcome. I am a newbie myself and have fallen off many wagons in my past but the hubby and I are determined to stick with this one. I really love all the receipe ideas out here and can't wait to try most of them. Stick with it and we can help each other and I know the SB experts will guide us along the way!
