Hi everyone,

Rose, spectacular pic! Love that one.

Just checking in to mark my spot. I have a busy day ahead of me so no time for more now.

Hope we all have a great on-plan week!

Good morning SBers!!

I just finished up a 5-mile Birthday run!! It's a glorious day here, so although I am not too happy about being 49 (ugh) years old...at least it is a beautiful morning.

We are off to my favorite restaurant tonight, which will be a treat. We haven't been there since our anniversary last year, because it is really on the pricey side. But as my husband says, I have an unerring instinct when it comes to liking pricey things

We had an awesome weekend...lots of beach time, fun parties, bike rides and runs, etc. Of course, the scale is not good - but I'll worry about that after my b-day!!

Rose, thanks for starting us off today!!

Hello to Cindy and Luisa!! And to all of you that check in after me - have a great SB day!!

Hi all,
Forgot to post dinner last night.
Steak, 1 steamed artichoke, bernaise.
Then I had a chocolate craving and had 1 Weight Watcher choco frozen treat. (2pts).

Dh returns from his adventure today.. I took today off. I am just so not into work this week. I do have "to do" list, but once I get in tomorrow, I will start cracking on it.

Wiz - YEA! Happy Birthday! Enjoy.

Well I am off to Reno again this morning. I will be doing all my shopping today as well as going to Trader Joes, I love that place.
Food is unknown yet, I'll post it later. I am up .5 pound but not suprised, anytime I eat steak it does that to me. Tomorrow is my official 1 week WI.
I'm hoping it will be a decent one

Happy birthday, Wiz! I'm right behind ya at 45 4mos. At least we're not getting older and delaying getting in shape!

http://www.hometeamsonline.com/photo...S/homepic1.jpg

Here's a pic to show where I've been for 4 days-DS#2 was in the regional baseball tournament. They took 4th, which isn't bad, considering they start practicing maybe 3 mos later than the top 3. Why is that? I told the one coach, hey, let's start earlier! I am psyched about my little man's baseball ability. Everybody needs a strength, and he certainly gets in trouble a lot-not listening etc. We had our best game of the year against the #3 team to finish, it's good to finish strong.

Anyway, eating OP was a low consideration, being scheduled at the end of each game for whenever we were supposed to show up again. We had a double header to end it, yesterday, had to be there to warm up at 8 am. It was so hot and sunny, everyone had umbrellas up. I was thinking, how can you possibly burn fat in these temps?? Drank a ton of water, went to a restaurant and drank lemonade, lemonade.

Today starts a new week! A short week with more buffets this weekend, tho, let's just keep it together, people. I'm going to get groceries, going to be good.

Good afternoon everyone.
Just stopping in for my weekly howdy-do and all that.

Congrats to all the losers! I peruse the check-in thread everyday and it looks like many of you are doing very well on South Beach.

I had a great on-plan week and am ever so slowly moving toward my goal.

Dani you are totally kicking my butt, girl. Good for you! With the summer heat upon us I'm finding that my appetite is easier to control so my caloric intake has dropped a good bit. Should see some good results here.
To everyone who has been ill these past weeks, hope you feel better!

Cindy I have fallen in love with the Arnold whole wheat sandwich thins. I picked up six packages on sale and tossed them in my freezer. They're very good toasted and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and chopped garlic. Yum!
Wiz, you look fantastic for 29! Hope you enjoy a few of these tonight:

Uh, Jim, I wish I looked 29!! Those days are long gone

Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes!! My husband just got home from work and gave me a couple of nice gifts (sterling ankle bracelet to replace the one I lost , gift card to a local spa, and a Vera Bradley jewelry travel bag!!)

I have every intention of knocking off early especially because it seems like everyone in my company has taken the whole week off!

Later!

Wow Wiz what a sweet DH!! Enjoy your dinner.

LinCo - WTG on the Baseball Tourny. My X DH used to play on a league on Tournys were long weekends.

Jim - I also love them sandwich Thins, I bought more today for my egg salad. I'll have to try the garlic yum.

Okay so today was good. I took my son with me to Reno. We stopped at Chilis and had lunch. I had Mesquite chicken breast on a bed of greens with Ranch on the side. We did all the shopping and made it to Trader Joes. Tonight for dinner I will make a Rotissere Chicken with a salad and side of broccoli, Rice for the fam. I kinda skipped breakfast.

Water needs to be better especially since its 104. Funny thing I have noticed on this Synthroid is I am often cold. Very strange for me, but I'm not complaining during these hot summer months.

Balsamic vinegar

This is legal, right???? DH and I strolled downtown stores yesterday and came upon a new store...a balsamic vinegar / olive oil store. They had many different kinds to taste and purchase -- all wonderfully good. We ended up purchasing a blood orange infused olive oil and fig infused balsamic vinegar (not actually in the vinegar/oil) -- oh my gosh -- we both thought we died and went to heaven with our salads tonight -- greens, chopped pecans, sliced pears, and crumbled blue cheese with the vinegar and oil. YUM.

Now I'm wondering if this is legal -- I can't find my book at the moment - long story but if you own a fridge with an icemaker/water dispenser you may want to check the water connection -- we live in a trilevel and have water damage to all levels from the connection on the wall leaking --everything is boxed and torn apart from floors to ceilings to cabinets and on and on ... I'll never own another ... but that is too much info for the moment.

So ... is the balasmic vinegar legal???

Stinks about your fridge! We have one of those...I am now making a mental note to keep an eye on the water! Hope you can get stuff fixed without costing too much moo-lah!

balsamic vinegar

Thanks for the update on the vinegar to all those responding!

If anyone is curious about the oil & vinegar store, here is the web site:

Fustini's Oils and Vinegars

Like I said -- YUM!

PS - while they may seem expensive keep in mind that these vinegar and oils *usually* last quite a while (although I have a feeling that will not be the case at our house)--a little bit can go a long way.

Kim - we have a store here that does the same thing; they have samples all around the store to try - with big hunks of WHITE FRENCH BREAD! Wonder if I could bring in my own whole wheat???

You have me itching to try all these oils and vinegars now!

YAY JIM!! Keep up the good work! I just started bikram yoga yesterday...wow, was it intense, but I think it is going be great exercise for me.

I those Arnold sandwhich thins too. My fav is the multi-grain, although the whole wheat are yummy too. I am going to try your "crouton" recipe for them!

Good morning!!

Thanks for the b-day wishes! It was a lovely day. We had a really nice dinner (I had champagne, lobster bisque and filet/scallops in a port wine demi glaze with shitake mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes. YUM!)

However, the scale revealed an ugly truth...like Serena, I have not been on track for several days now. I really need to rein myself in before the long weekend starts!! So today will include lots of water, I rode my bike and did a 4-mile run with a neighbor, grilled chicken and veggies for dinner, etc. It's not so much that I have eaten off plan foods (well, let's exclude the lobster bisque - that was kinda of like my dessert ) but my portion control has been horrible. I need more veggies and less other stuff. And like Laurie, I am going shopping today to stock up on those veggies!!

Jim, Dani, Reno, we also love the Arnold sandwich thins. Costco carries the Multi-grain version and they are much cheaper there than our supermarket...

Kim, I'm with Cindy and Susie, I eat balsamic vinegar and just about any other kind of vinegar I can get my hands on. Vinegar adds so much flavor, without the fat and calories!

Today is end of quarter, so gotta get back to work!! BBL

Cindy, the store here does not offer bread. They use itty bitty tasting cups! But I am SURE it wouldn't look at all strange if you pulled out a loaf of WW bread from your purse!

Here is a favorite "dessert" of mine -- reduce balsamic vinegar by at least half (I toss it on the heat and let it bubble away until I think it's reduced enough to look like Hershey's syrup) and pour it over sliced strawberries -- YUMMY~
