Menu: B - ham, cheese, tomato, onion, & green pepper omlette. light key lime yogurt, coffee with skim milk L - grilled chicken salad D - not sure yet |

Hi Everyone!
I bought 32 qts of strawberries at the produce auction yesterday so I was up late last night making jam. Today is another birthday. With 9 kids, it seems like we have a birthday every week... Actually we won't have any more birthdays now until fall, which is good because all the goodies are so tempting. This is what I've eaten so far today- B-mock hash browns (shredded cauliflower) and 2 strips of bacon, 8 cherries L- Pizza minus the crust, small salad and a dish of strawberries D-cream of broccoli soup S cottage cheese w/ sf jello powder Beth~ |

Suzie, I'm glad you figured it out!! I have been eating more nuts, too.
Beth, everytime I read your posts, I crave cream of broccoli! Stella, WTG on hot yoga. OK, Reno, I won't bug you about Crystal Lite. What's going to work? You won't lose well w/o water! I read what readers had to say about Oxygen Magazine's plan for losing the last 10 pds. I hadn't gotten that issue, tho, so I think I might order it. Sounds like they have you really cut back for 3 wks. Today was weigh-in day, and I'm back above my low after the tournament weekend. I changed things up, to lower carb (Phase 1.5, I think), after church camp last month and it worked quick, but now I think I'm drifting. I'm also eating a lot of dairy, which I usually don't eat so much. I wonder if there's only so much dairy I can take!! What are youall fixing for the 4th??

OK, Reno, I won't bug you about Crystal Lite. What's going to work? You won't lose well w/o water!
[/B][/quote][/B] Maybe if I cook with a lot of salt ![]() Seriously I just need to pull my head out of my butt and do it!I did do better today. Well tomorrow I am off early to the pool with the kids, we are also going to the river to watch the Kyakers. They are fun to watch. Saturday we are going fishing at the lake, and then home for a BBQ before heading to the race track and fireworks. Long day on Saturday. Sunday we are going back to the lake with the Jet Ski. DH is out right now buying some Fly fishing gear. He really wants to give this a whirl ![]() So now onto food. My neighbor is cooking the ribs with a special Cajun dry rub, no sauce. He said there is no sugar. He is also making his spicy pinto beans. Hes a bachelor 71 (wife died 4 years ago) we have him over for dinner every weekend so he insisted on cooking these items. I'll throw in a veggie and a fruit salad. Sunday I'm thinking of grilling some burgers, easy.... Now for lunches Im thinking egg salad on thin bread, and maybe a 3 bean salad too. I'm still trying to piece it all together in my head.

day 2 done..
Good morning, all! Well, I'm happy to report another good day yesterday. This way of eating is really new and a little tough for me, but I know it's just the first few days. I had the headache of the century yesterday and NO energy. I eat sooooooo much sugar normally, though, so I'm sure that's why. I actually feel pretty good this morning!
For tomorrow (the 4th) we're headed to a bbq at a friend's house. So I'm planning to take a pork tenderloin to grill and some sort of coleslaw. I'm gonna look up a SB-friendly one. Any ideas?? Have a wonderful day, everybody!

Good Morning,
It's raining here in kC! Sheesh! I'm off today and need to tidy up the house. How did it get so darn messy? Amy - keep up the good work! As long as your coleslaw is vinegar based you should be okay - no sugar, obviously ...There are lots of recipes online for SB coleslaw..yum! |

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I've been gone so long, I was battling deep depression over the health issues and let it derail me. But I'm back on track now, shaky I admit but back. I am on my computer at work, before my shift starts, my home computer is in the shop. so you still may not here much from me the next 2 weeks, but I wanted to drop in and say HI and wish everyone a Safe and Happy 4th. Hey beachers,
If I don't check-in much over the next few days, I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July weekend! The bikram yoga is really helping my appetite...not thinking about food at all and I'm eating well...not stuffing my face. Hoping that this will continue into the weekend. I'm going again to class this afternoon. The sun is out here so I'm off to go be outside! Hugs to all! Jean- Welcome back! Glad you are back on track! ![]() |

Hi beachers,
It's so hot here (mid-upper 90s) that I think I could melt. Phew. I gave all of the potted plants on the patio a good soaking last night, but the marigolds are wilting (and I know just how they feel!). to the newbies!Stella - Send some of that rain this way, please! Jean - good to see you again. Hang in there! ![]() Cookie - key lime yogurt, mmmm...I remember that was one of my favorite kinds (none here, of course )Amy - you asked about exercise the other day. I ordered some of Leslie Sansone's walk at home DVDs from Amazon a couple months ago and I really like them. You get a good workout, and they're divided up with markers so you can do just 1 or 2 miles if you want. I have been alternating the "3 mile weight loss walk" (with hand weights) and "4 really big miles" with the "firm band" (aka torture instrument ). You can check them out on YouTube to get an idea of what they're about. to everyone I missed - gotta get back to work. Hope you all have a great holiday weekend.

Hi all, hope you all have a great 4th. We are taking the kids to a parade in the morning. Our new Ethiopian girls have no clue what a parade is but they are excited because our other children told them they would get candy.
![]() This is what I ate today- B- two eggs and two strips of bacon L- loaded broccoli bake S- cottage cheese w/ sf jello powder, 1/2 an apple D- 2 hamburgers 1 hot dog and a few pieces of chocolate Oh, and a little fish. We cooked dinner over a campfire at our pond. Our 11 yr old daughter caught an 18 1/2 inch long catfish so along w/ hamburgers, hot dogs and smores, we all had a little fish that was cooked over the fire. Not a good night food wise, but we had fun! S- sweet cherries Beth ~ |

HI all,
Yesterday was fairly OP. Resisted booze and dessert! ![]() Had BBQ for dinner and a few onion rings. Nothing major but we have no plans for today so I'm planning on an OP day. I measured myself this morning. I have lost about 6 inches overall since January (started SB in late April, practicing yoga since Jan!). Slow and steady, I guess! I seem to have problems losing the leg and arm inches. Dani - My 30 day challenge starts at my studio tomorrow (the 5th!). Think I'm gonna go for 5X week practice with the other two days as "bonus" days... ![]()

4th
Good morning! Well, things are going well here. I had my third day on program yesterday! I marinated some salmon to take to the bbq today and made Kalyn's bleu cheese cole slaw (with splenda). I think it's gonna be yum! It has a very little bit of bleu cheese for two bags of cole slaw. I tried some ff greek yogurt this morning with pecans and it wasn't bad. DH ran the 4-mile 4th of July run this morning and the yogurt was a good on-the-go breakfast. It's only been three days, but my pants are noticeably looser! Have a good one!

I should have taken measurements on Monday when I started the bikram, because capris that I wore on Tuesday are now loose on me today! I went again this morning so that made 6 days in a row. I really wish I could go tomorrow too, but I am heading the beach with my girlfriends and we need to leave by 9 AM. My teacher told us today that he dropped 67 pounds after doing bikram yoga for a year. He says he lost 8 inches off his waist alone the first few months. I am going to try to aim for 6 days a week over the next month and after I come back from London in August, maybe attempt a 30 day challenge.

sunday
Good morning, all! Well, I'm happy to report that I stuck with my plan and ate my salmon and cole slaw at the bbq, despite the delish looking dessert there. It's just a huge thing for me that I didn't make excuses and say I'd get back on track the next day! I'm pumped! I wanted to wait a week to check, but since it's day 5 I thought I'd peak...and I'm down 5.2 pounds already! Feeling good. One day at a time.........

Hi!
4th of July was so so eating wise..portions were under control, though but we were so lazy yesterday. Watched He's Just Not that...and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. DH was so tired of my gloomy Six Feet Under..so I'm giving him a break to watch silly stuff. We saw Away We Go at the theatre on Sat. It was cute..but all the funny lines were in the previews. Food for Sunday (did yoga 9AM) B: Fage w/ a few craisens L: Taco Salad D: roast and zucchini/onion gratin Kim - just try yoga out! Tell them you are new and that sort of just overcomes the fear of being embarrassed in my opinion. Everyone is new at some point. Dani - I started the 30 day at my studio today w/ a 5X week min. commitment. One of the prizes is the nonskid towel which I want soo bad and is $$$. |
