I wounder if our Whole Foods store carried these Balsamic Vinegars. Honestly I think I need to fall in love with a new salad dressing, I'm getting bored with my salads lately. I'm still eating them though.

Well I am down 3.5 pounds for the week. Honestly I have to say I am disappointed. I really thought Id see closer to 5 since I was weighing during the week and seeing better numbers. I am also hoping these pills help with my Metabolism, I have already cut calories and started walking. Oh well what am I to do but keep moving forward.

Todays plan:

B - Fage yogurt, coffee

L - salad greens and turkey meatballs

D - Chicken, broccoli

I bought some Sunflower seed butter at TJ's yesterday. It's really good. I love this on celery for a snack.

Hi all, I've been really good lately, eating zero grains. I feel great physically eating this way, no more body aches and the pain in my knee is all but gone. The problem is that I'm starving all the time. Nothing seems to fill me up like grains do.

Here is what I've eaten yesterday and today-

B- made mock hash browns- I grated cauliflower and onion and cooked it in a little olive oil until it was just getting tender then added one egg (scrambled) to kind of hold it together, salt, pepper and a little garlic. It turned out really good, I ate it with carb 1 ketchup and 2 strips of bacon.
L-Cream of broccoli soup and a little sloppy joe meat
S- peanuts, an apple and cheese
D- Roast pork w/ cranberry sauce, broccoli and cheese
s- Cottage cheese w/ sf jello powder

Today-
B- cream of broccoli soup
L- Salad w/ blackened chicken, salsa and sour cream
s- Peanuts, Cottage cheese, Some left over pork roast
D- Loaded broccoli bake, baby carrots
s- Apple and cheese

Tomorrow morning I'm going to a menonite produce Auction. I can't wait to see what kinds of goodies I can find.

Beth, if you are truly starving, stomach hunger, not head hunger, then you are not eating enough. I don't know what size your servings are, but don't skimp. It won't serve you well in the long run. Eat some protein when you feel hungry, just a few bites.

Good morning!

Today was a rest day from running, so I did a light workout of 30 minutes of uphill walking (10 incline at 4.5 mph) on my treadmill. Just enough to get sweaty

For the first time since Christmas, I can't seem to get my butt in gear to get back on a clean path with my eating. As I mentioned, I'm eating on plan about 90% of the time, but my portions have gotten too big and I'm probably not eating enough veggies. I'm taking some vacation time (have Thursday through Monday off) for the holiday weekend, so will try to maintain where I am. But darn it, on Tuesday, I am re-focusing!!

Oh and by the way, Pepperidge Farm has entered into the sandwich thins war! Their version is called Deli Flats, I just saw them at the supermarket. I have a coupon for them, so when they go on sale - I'll give them a try.

Later all!

WIz - Let us know what you think of the Deli Flats, I haven't seen them here yet.

Well todays another day and I plan to be a 100% good. I am having problems getting my water in though.

B- Fage, coffee

L - salad, chicken

D - pork roast, onion, peppers, salad

Reno...3.5 lbs is great!!

For you Fage fans out there....does Fage taste just like plain yogurt or is it better? I've seen it in the stores, just wondering.

I'm having a bad weigh-in morning...I've been OP (phase 1.5) and I actually gained weight. 6 lbs. to be exact. I think my big weight loss last week was due to me being sick for the week prior & not really eating. And, I just got over TOM, but still, I am very frustrated. I haven't been working out as I should be, so, maybe that's a contributor? Oh well, I'm going to look over my food diary tonight and see if I see a pattern. Oh, and to add to my weight gain anger, DH weighs himself and loses another 5 lbs.! UGH!

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Susie, Yes men It seems to come so easy for them.
Fage is not as runny as regular yogurt, really thick, but tastes like plain.

Hi gang,
I've been doing well all day til Dinner lately. I am actually creating a huge menu/shopping plan for the month today. We are reducing our monthly eating by over 1/2!

Wiz -
I've gotta try the Pepperidge Farm ones, as I cannot find those Arnolds thins anywhere - my Costco doesn't have them. GRRRR.

Beth - hope you got lots of yummies at the auction! That is really cool. We joined a organic CSA for the summer and it's okay - but I'd like to do something different next year

hi there

Hey there! Well, I'm currently reading South Beach Supercharged, and I was gonna wait to start til Monday (after I get groceries), but why should I wait and keep eating crud til then? So I've decided to just start right this minute........but I don't have much in the house. I have a thing of egg beaters and some cheese..so I think I'll try to make some sort of omelette with whatever veggies are in there too! I WILL be heading to the market before lunchtime, though, or I'll crack! Nice to meet you all. You WILL be seeing me around here. I'm committed!

hey

So I thought I'd come back real quick and tell you all that the omelette was actually a success. Red onions and cilantro and a little cheese with egg beaters. Who knew that was yummy? ha. I really need to get out and get some beans and lean meat, though, and more veggies. But just thought I'd tell you about my morning success so far! At this rate you guys are gonna get sick of me telling you about each and every meal I eat! just kidding.

Hope you all have an awesome day! Thanks for the welcome already!

Hi everyone.
Try not to be too shocked that I'm posting twice in one week.

Okay folks, so these Arnold sandwich thins are really tasty and on-plan and everything, but oh dear lord I can eat a bunch of them.

Wiz: I do envy you being so close to the beach. I miss the ocean!

Cindy: Because of my HCM I could never actually run in a marathon, in fact I am specifically advised not to do these sorts of things, but I would love to at least walk one and say that I did it. Is there some sort of time limit, or can people walk the route and not be totally embarrassed at taking three extra hours to complete it?

Rose: Stay out of the ML! Us evil low-fat Beachers aren't welcome there.

I've never actually posted a menu before but tonight I am throwing a bunch of stuff into a pot and calling it dinner:

Small head of cabbage
Several large onions
Baby carrots
Veggie Italian sausage
Soy sauce
Fresh garlic
Black pepper

Being a bachelor I'm ALL about simple and easy. Or maybe I'm just plain easy.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Hi all...I have followed Atkins in the past but could never wrap my head around eating such high fat foods...now I have discovered South Beach! Healthy food and easy to follow!

My DH and I started on June 23rd...my weigh in was yesterday and I am down 7.2 pounds...I was looking for a healthy way to eat and to lose some weight and I've found it!

Jim!!!

I love that you have posted more than once!

Alot of the marathons out there have both run AND walk components and for me I do both.........I can't run the whole thing; my knees could never take it.

Yeah, Arnold Sandwich Thins are dangerous! I love them toasted with a little olive oil Fleishman's!

Hi friends!

Suzi, I think you have to be a scientist of YOU. Glad you're keeping a journal. What did you find?

Reno, have you tried Crystal Lite? You gotta get more water. First thing every day, I drink warm water with lemon, it's good for your cholesterol.

Wiz, I hear ya! Remember it's easier to stay in shape then get back in shape. Hang on with your fingernails! Hey, wait, did you ditch diet soda and now your eating is screwy??

Kim, I've got to try that salad. I love love pears, but hate that they're often grainy.

Cindy, my hip is getting creaky! Have you had your knees adjusted ever?

Jim, you're a riot, thanks!

Beth, don't let your metabolism tank by not eating enough! You'll lose your muscle and your metabolism will go lower.

Stella, I eat after dinner if I fake on the breakfast and first snack-like today! I better have my pm snack!

Amy, I love cilantro, it's peeking up in my garden!

Determind, good job!

Serena, Dani, hiya!

We are hit with hot weather, probably last another 6 wks. I usually eat a lot more fruit during hot weather, now I'm sticking with my salads and salads. Oh, wait, I had leftover stuffed zucc. for lunch and am making skabetti for dinner. I just have some sauce and caesar salad, the fam has noodles. Celery and peanut butter sounds good, too! Think I'll have that for snack.

We are taking a day to do a lot of cleaning, since we've been out and about quite a bit. Easier to pack for our brief 4th camping trip if the house is clean, too. I was thinking of making that cabbage and ramen salad for our big family potluck, DH and DS#1 are cooking quiche lorraine-not OP. I cooked a bag of chicken breasts last night.

Peeps, I'd overeat those sandwich thins for sure, I ain't goin' there.

B - turkey bacon, coffee
L - grilled chicken salad, 1/2 cup skim milk, 1/2 banana
S - lf cottage cheese
D - red beans, brown rice, ground turkey (made red beans & rice style), salad, ff sf key lime yogurt

did my hour of callanetics today and added some push ups and tricep push ups and some extra leg stretches.

Jim - ok, so you're easy but are you cheap? (sorry couldn't resist) You gotta keep it simple or it ain't gonna happen.

Thursday

Hey, all! I'm back......and I had a full day on plan yesterday! I went to Walmart and got lots of veggies and lean meat, etc. So there's no excuse. If I'm hungry, the fridge is full of good food!

I need to start some form of exercise, though. This has been tough since having a baby....and he's 18 months now so I have no excuse! Any ideas?

Things have been a bit stressful for me cuz we're selling our house right now....and if you've done it before, you know what I'm talking about...offer, inspection, wait, wait, wait! My DH is Air Force and we're moving so we've gotta sell the house.

One day at a time!

Good morning gang!

This will be quick because I am officially on vacation until Tuesday. Woohoo!!! I did my 5-mile run, cleaned up one last work item and now will make some dark chocolate covered strawberries for the graduation party we are going to tonight. Then I am off to the beach with a big fat book, my lunch, and my iPod. Life IS good

Amy and Determind1 - Welcome!! And lots of luck to both of you.

Cookie, where have you been hiding all week??? Although we did hear from Jim twice this week, so somehow that balances out!!

Laurie, you are reading my mind!! Ever since I gave up (well, let's say I cut back severely ) the Diet Coke, my eating has been off and the scale has gone up. Coincidence...I think not! I may have to re-think this whole thing.

Have a great OP day folks!!

Wiz, what about adding in some healthier caffeine instead of DC? I was reading that green tea is helpful in weight loss. Altho I tried going off my 2nd cup of joe and gave up, but aspartame is worse.http://images.lowcarbfriends.com/lcf...ilies/hugs.gif

Now I know for some this doesn't work, but for me the diet soda can help curb my apetite........I do not drink alot of soda, but I do know when I am really watching my food intake, there is nothing like a good old diet coke to help ME with my cravings and take the edge off.

HI gang,

Last day at work til Monday. Yea! I've got more Six Feet Under to watch tomorrow while DH is at work.
Eating was OP yesterday + hot yoga. I'm weighing 4th of July as a "milestone" weigh in instead of Friday.

LinCo - YES! That little hard boiled egg (1) is not cutting it for me and then I turn into a snacky snacker at bedtime. Time to beef up the breakfast!

Wiz, Cindy- I think YMMV (Your mileage may vary) applies to the diet soda issue. What works for some, may not work for others. I personally feel so much better after giving up diet coke (now in my 2nd month) but on the other hand, my coffee consumption has gone up. I used to be just a one cup a day girl (just to get me going in the morning) and when I stopped the diet soda in May I found myself reaching for a coffee in the afternoon too. Although now that I think about it, I haven't been drinking it in the afternoon since joining Bikram this week. Yay! Anyways, I say do what works for you. Maybe add it back in Wiz, just don't drink as much?

Laurie - Believe it or not I do not like flavor in my water, only plain. I just need to force myself to drink more even when I am not thirsty.

Amy - WTG, keep this up and you'll lose in no time.

Well peeps I don't know what to do. You always hear calories in, calories out. Well I have been sticking to low for a few days and my scale is not budging. I am getting very discouraged as I have so much weight to lose. I am watching everything I put in my mouth. Maybe I need a higher dose of Synthroid, I don't know. I have to be on this for 5 weeks first. I know my metabolism is shot, I need help!

Well the plan for today is work, and healthy food of course. So here we go.

B - coffee, ??

L - turkey meatballs, small salad

D - shredded pork, onion, peppers, small salad

Wiz and Dani - I have been having issues with the wifi connection at home and the home pc is a dinosaur! That thing is so slow that I can't stand using it. Soooo... I took my laptop to my best friend's house and am using it there.

Getting ready to have breakfast and will check in more later.

Boy...you guys have been busy! I too will be away most of the weekend, so I hope everyone has a fun & safe 4th of July!

As for my journal...I think I found the problem....too many nuts! I have almonds as a snack just about everyday...the stupid nuts do it to me everytime. This last week I wasn't eating as many veggies as I usually do...so I'm upping the veggies & cuttin back on the nuts...let's see what happens next week!
