Hi everyone

Checking in and marking my spot. Just did my 4-mile power walk and had breakfast (HB egg, boiled ham and gazpacho), and now I'm going out for coffee with DH. Will try to BBL.

Me too, Jim - after being sick on and off for about three weeks and not being able to eat as on plan as I usually do, I am refocusing this week!

Hello all!

Finished up a 5-mile run on the boardwalk this morning! And was only up 1 lb from my weekend fun. So, it looks like the start of a normal week for me

Hmmm...on the diet soda front. I did wonderfully during the week (and am once again drinking water today.) However, I realized that for our family get-together at our local coffee shop on Saturday morning (the whole Wiz family gets together - BiLs, SiLs, nieces, etc.), I didn't want water. Everyone else has coffee, tea or those crazy frappacino things the kids drink. I, too, wanted my shot of caffeine. So, yes, I had a 1 Diet Coke. One soda a week (compared to the 10 I was drinking before) isn't too bad. FYI. I hate all forms of coffee and tea. Hot, cold - doesn't make a difference. I really dislike the flavor...

Gotta get back to work. I hope everyone has a very OP week!!

Morning.... I had a good weekend and the scale actually dropped a few
I'm not really keeping rack until I get on my meds. but I was happy with the loss none the less. Today I am taking my son to see UP in 3D, my daughter will go to Day Care, its a day for just me and my son. My 4 y/o takes up so much of my time so once in awhile I like to spend time with just my 10 y/o son. I have a plan, NO popcorn for me. I will bring a bottle of water, and we will go out for a healthy lunch before hand.

B - Egg Salad, coffee, cream

L - salad or something healthy

D - roast in the Crockpot, green chilis, broccoli, green salad.

I'm a medical transcriptionist. I worked in a hospital for about 15 years and then went home about 10 years ago to work for myself. It can be a blessing and a curse.

What do you do?

Kim, I'm a freelance translator (Spanish to English). And I hear you about the blessing and curse--love working in my "play clothes" and being able to take a day off if I need one, hate having to work weekends and odd hours sometimes to make a deadline.

Hello, Everyone!

I'm not new to LCF but am to SB... I've just finished Phase 1, have dropped 10 lbs since June 1st and I'm feeling fantastic! (oh how I wish weight loss could continue as it does in the first weeks )

I am really happy with the SB plan and am so sorry I didn't start it years ago, but am looking forward to all the life changes I will experience in the future with my new WOE!!

Happy Monday!

Hi everyone! Just stoppin by to say hi. I have some sort of stomach virus...don't think it's anything serious, but I have to visit the bathroom just about every hour. Great weight loss plan, but needless to say, could not go to work.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Welcome Tracy!

Good morning everyone!

I hope that everyone that was sick is feeling much better. And I hope you start to feel better soon Susie. So not fun to keep running back and forth to the bathroom.

cookie - photogenic or not... you look sensational. I would NEVER have believed you were a grandma!! I'd love to look half as good as you, even in photos

Renomom - Any number change on the scale make you feel better, doesn't it? I know what you mean about the little ones taking time away from the others. I spend so much time with my 21 month old that it's a real treat when I can spend time with my 10 year old son. I need to make it happen more often.

Tracy and congrats on your loss! Wouldn't it be nice if you could keep dropping that way? LOL I keep telling myself I'm like that little turtle and slow and steady will win the race.

I had a busy weekend with a wedding shower to go to on Saturday and a birthday dinner for my mom yesterday. The shower was just another event filled with food that I couldn't eat. It was definately a test of my willpower to have my daughter sit on my knee and eat her "pupcake" while I sipped my water bottle! Since I made my mom's birthday dinner, I was able to control what we had. She really wanted chili, so we had that with WW garlic bread and a large salad and for desert I made a nice fruit salad. I probably had more fruit than I should have this weekend, but I was thrilled to see the scale go down another 2 pounds this morning! YEAH! I think it was more about the fact that every spare moment was spent working on my daughter's new room. Painting furniture, building new furniture and constantly moving.

Hope you are all doing well.

Friends,
I was happy to catch up on everybody's week last night, but decided if I posted, it'd get left behind on the last week's thread. So please, all, just feel the warm, fuzzy personal replies I had in my head to give to each.

We all had fun at church camp, although I think it always seems like a hassle when I'm not there. I couldn't believe the eats, tho, the first night we were with the group, it was mashed potatoes and stroganoff. I haven't eaten flippin' mashed potatoes in forever!! I am absolutely NOT stepping on the scale till my Thurs weigh in.

I've been reading a lot of other LC journeys on this board, and am trying a little bit different program for the next 5 weeks, until I go back to Virginia. Will keep you posted. Not un-SB, just different from what I've been eating. I'm also forcing myself off that second cup of coffee, which is much sugarier than the first. I just made myself a cup of yerba mate tea and put 1/3 tsp. honey in it.

Here's so far today:
B: 1/2c. ff cottage cheese, whey protein, 1/4 c. all bran, 1tsp. coconut oil (hmm, no veggie)
S: turkey, 1/2 small avocado, salsa, tea
L plan: salad w/ chicken, salsa, 1T. sour cream
S plan: peanut butter/whey/flax deal
D plan: hamburger, caesar salad

Kim/Luisa, I work from home part of my (part time) workweek. I am starting to hate it! I am naturally a bit unfocused (need that 2nd cup of coffee!), and sometimes I read low carb bulletin boards when I should be working. During the school year, I started taking my laptop to the library after Pilates one day a week, and got my reports written MUCH faster.

Darn it, Cookie! You got all my photogenic-ness! I swear I have so little, I was asked the other day at the bank what my date of birth was. I think they didn't believe the photo was me. I should scan it and post it for y'all. UG-LEE.

WTG, all you peeps who're having good losses.

MJMama, is that your screenname? Are you breast feeding and drinking only 40 oz water?? I find when I'm dehydrated, water is hard to get down. You have to force it down-I am not above using Crystal Lite at times-then you can drink what you're supposed to more easily. That's my advice for you! I also recommend the weight loss journal called carb cycling or something. That gal documents a long, persistent effort. Stick with it!

Awww, that is so cute! Is that a pic of your daughter in your avatar? She's adorable!

I know how it is when you're around all this temptation and it's like daggers in the chest to resist!! I feel like I deserve a standing ovation for my restraint, yet, of course, no one notices.

Laurie,
Unfotrunately, I'm not BFing. My twins were in the NICU for quite some time and, despite my best efforts, I just couldn't keep up with their needs. That being said, I still know I need to drink more water. Thanks for the encouragement.

I haven;t had a good couple of days. Yesterday I had a small emotional binge due to the babies not cooperating and me letting it get me off track Thankfully, it was early in the day and so I didn't eat anything else after that and my weight stayed the same.

HOWEVER< today, i had 2 TBSP of semisweet choc. chips. I'm not sure what's wrong with me. Feeling cloudy and icky. Anyway here's to a MUCH better week than it has started;

Don't beat yourself up...pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start right back at it. Know what? I find DH and I do much better if I have NOTHING in the house that we may consume too much of -- like chocolate chips. This has really helped this time around -- especially with cases of spontaneous consumption

You can do it! Today is a new day.

UGH! I know about the focus problems! I've been working at home for at least the last 10 years and the last couple of years I've had the toughest time focusing.

I really need to quit strolling around the net ... too bad it didn't burn as many calories as real walking!

Which is exactly why I have not sincerely pursued a work-at-home project. I would love to work independently, but I know that I am too easily distracted and a natural procrastinator. I would HAVE to take my laptop to Starbuck's or something with free WIFI to get things done in a timely manner and that would open me up to all kinds of temptations... can you just imagine being in Starbucks for a couple of hours at a time? I can't afford the calories or the expense! Ha! Would be kinda nice just the same.

The other problem(s) with working at home -- friends and family think you don't have a "real" job and can just drop in, call, etc. whenever they feel like it and the fact that you can never escape work (or the refrigerator)! Of course, there are many perks to working at home though!

I have never had a problem focusing until the last couple of years ... Short of Ritalin, I don't have the slightest clue what I can do to regain my focus.

My fever finally broke last night. Temperature is back to normal, but sore throat and stuffy nose persist. Was feeling really fatigued this morning so decided to stay out of work. May go in tomorrow. We'll see.

Hope to be back to feeling like myself soon!

Last week I posted a Bananarama tune, this week it's Divine...

Anyone remember this song? I actually met Divine in person back in the 80's in Pittsburgh. Woo hoo!

It's all about being comfortable with who you are folks... we're all beautiful!

Mind if I join/say hi?

Hello ladies and gentleman..lol..

I am not new to low carbing nor to this site what so ever, however, somewhat new to Southbeach... Not to bore you w/details but this is my 3rd and LAST time to lose close to or over 100 lbs. Tubes tied after my last child was born last late May, in my much later 30's agewise and married to a supportive husband. I was on Atkins to lose 80 of these pounds this time and wanted something less fatty and attempted to Eat Clean, do a Fat Flush and was STARVING and finally dusted off my SouthBeach book and here I am on day 5 of induction... I absolutely love this way of eating, I drink a TON of water, this isn't new but I find myself lurking more then posting and thought I'd say an official hello!

I've seen a couple of you here for years now so I would love to be a part of the SB team to hear different tips/tricks like I have learned so I can finish losing the rest of this weight. I have only lost 1 lb on induction so far but just today finished my TOM so maybe the scale will budge a little..it may not since eating 'good' isn't new to my body but hoping the SB change will shock it into gear, lol. I'm looking to lose my last 25lbs and ofcourse maintain lifelong on SB as well..
