Morning!
Pixel - I NEVER weigh myself and always go by how my clothes fit.......I became obsessed with the scale and it wasn't good as it would determine my mood for the day........it sounds like you are doing everything right - and quite successfully as well. Keep on doing what you are doing! Serena - so nice to see you more often!!! ![]() Rose - if our Walmart wasn't the cheapest place in town for health and beauty aids, plus other stuff, I wouldn't go there either..... ![]() Hugs to all and hoping for an OP weekend for all!

Good morning everyone. I'm off to a family reunion weekend, my first major outing in a long long time, so God only knows how I'm going to do with my eating. It's rare I get out of the house like this so although I'm going to stick to plan as much as possible, I'm also going to allow myself to have a good time and enjoy some food I don't normally get to eat. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Jim

Last day of school yesterday! My co-workers and I all went out for lunch once the kiddos were gone. I ate a bit off-plan and had a few Sam Summers, but it was a special day. Stomach is feeling a little bloated this morning, but I'm back on plan. Just had eggs and turkey bacon for breaky.
I'm going to see No Doubt tonight in concert. I love Gwen Stefani and have loved the band since HS...it's also my first time getting to see them perform live. I just hope the rain stays away!! Jim- Hope you have a fun time at your family reunion!! Hope everyone has a great weekend! ![]()

Good morning!
My husband and I got our 5-mile walk and subsequent coffee break sitting outside at a local shop before the rain got here. It looks like a washout today Rain, Rain...go away. Melody, Thanks for the kind words. I've always been a walker, even before I lost my weight (it took me 9 months to lose 43 lbs and I've kept it off now for 9 more months). I started out doing 3 mile walks and then extended it to 5 miles. I did those walks ~5 days a week. But as I lost weight, I had more energy and I also hit a stall. I decided to add some jogging in. So I would walk 3.5 miles and then run the last 1.5 miles to start. Then, I added more running to the point where I was running more than walking. Then I just started running 5 miles! It took a while, but I love it. Also, the running really helped my stall. I lost the last 15 lbs pretty quickly. My current schedule is to run 20 miles and walk 10 miles each week. I try to exercise 6 days a week, unless I am traveling for business and miss a day due to air travel, etc. (But I always take my sneakers - wherever I go!) Good luck to you. I would work on extending your distance walking, then work on getting it done faster (not running, but walking more briskly.) Then, if you feel up to it, start adding some running to the end of your walks and go from there! Rose, too funny. I have not stepped foot in a Walmart in probably over 2 years. Jim, have fun at the reunion! I usually find that I spend so much time gabbing at our family reunions, I don't even eat that much!! Dani, have fun at the concert! Gwen Stefani has always been very cool... Pixel, I am a weigher. I admit to it. I weigh every weekday (now that I am on maintenance, I don't weigh on weekends.) But I have to tell you that since going on maintenance - I have lost 2 more dress sizes! It's all from the exercise (and from the continued good eating!) I totally agree with Rose, I'm much more concerned with zipping up my size 8 jeans than I am with what I weigh. BUT I do weigh myself, because I want to ensure I stay below my Mendoza line (any time I see a 150 on the scale, I know I need to rein myself in and get back to basics.) Our town is supposed to be having this jazz fest today, with a wine garden and crafters. It's not looking too good with the forecast, but we'll see...maybe we'll put our slickers on and wander over on our bikes. ![]() Later gang!

Howdy beachers.
today's menu: B - lf cottage cheese, 1 tbsp nat peanut butter, coffee with skim milk & sweetner S - sf ff iced vanilla latté (I use one cup of skim milk and divide it between my morning coffee and my latté) L - Turkey bacon BLT on WW tortilla with light mayo, pickles on the side (LOTS of lettuce and tomato too... trying to get more vegs) S - 1/2 cup ff plain yogurt, 1/2 cup blueberries D - 3 egg white omlette with mega mega veggies, lean ham, lf cheese, served on a bed of lettuce. (had to cram in all the veggies I could) Dsrt - chai tea with sf vanilla coffee mate I also did 30 day shred phase 1 again and may or may not take an evening walk. I think its a good idea but it depends on how muggy it is outside. Wiz - I keep trying to be a jogger but my knee just does not cooperate with me. ![]() Dani - enjoy the concert. I am sool envious! I love No Doubt. Glad you're feeling better even if you are a bit bloated. (I know that feeling) Jim - have a great family reunion. Pixel - I used to be a chronic weigher, but I don't currently own a scale so that helps in curbing that obsession. however, every time I come near a scale, I hop on it which is a BAD idea because it may be in the middle of the day right after lunch and a huge glass of water fully clothed with jeans on and then you are devastated by the number. (I did that earlier this week and was shattered... back on plan for me and NO weighing at the neighbors right after we finish lunch BAD BAD BAD idea). Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day, Rich & Jim (I'm assuming you have children, I could be wrong... but have a great Guy Day anyway)!

Hi friends!
Tried to make today a medium carb day, but ended up at a baseball double-header w/ DS#1. He had two great games, but his team didn't do so well first game. Thank goodness they came back 2nd game. They need to handle adversity better! Isn't that a good lesson to learn young?! That's what I like about sports for my kids, plus the physical fitness. Anyway, we were headed home too late to make cauliflower pizza. Had a grilled bacon ranch salad from McD's instead. We have another game at 10 tomorrow morning! If we make it to the top 3, we'll go to state. DS#2 is already in his state tourney. Wiz, we had rain, too. DH is camping with buddies this weekend (good for him!), and it drizzled all day.

Hi all,
I feel bad, I've hardly had time to be on line in the past few days and I can barely keep up with reading all the post, much less commenting on anything... I weighed myself this morning and lost nothing last week. it's depressing, but I know I need to cut back on the fruit. Darn it! This is what I ate today- B-2 low carb pancakes, small amount of scrambled eggs and sausage (less than 1 egg) L- stuffed pepper, broccoli salad S-8 sweet cherries D- Hamburger patty on romaine lettuce, dill pickle, roasted cauliflower, spinach/garden lettuce salad w/ vinaigrette, a few more cherries and 2 slices of mango S-? What really want is more fruit! ![]() I wish I could share some lettuce and spinach with all of you! My garden has gone wild with all the rain we've had recently. Anyone else growing their own veggies? Beth ~ |

Rose, I got the recipe off from this site (Annie's low carb no flour pancakes) but I tweaked it a little.
1/2 cup cottage cheese 1/2 cup rolled oats 6 egg whites Put it all in the blender. Supposedly 5 carbs per pancake I use 3 whole eggs and I add I tsp baking powder, 1 tbsp coconut oil, a little vanilla and a little cinnamon. Sometimes I add a few blueberries or blend in a half of a banana for sweetness. Beth ~ |

Sounds delicious. How many does this make? How do they freeze?
DD makes pancakes and waffles from protein powder. Btw, you aren't necessarily going to lose pounds every week. And 8 cherries and a few more and 2 slices of mango? That's barely one serving total. You do need some protein with the cherry snack though. |

It usually makes 8 good sized pancakes. They never last long enough to freeze.
![]() I was making the revoloppsie rolls and eating them like pancakes. These are 1000 times better, especially with blueberries, and way easier to make! Beth ~ Last edited by Thefarmerswife; 06-20-2009 at 08:48 PM.. |

Good morning all!
Beth, thanks for the pancake recipe! DH and I are inveterate vegetable gardeners. We also have several fruit trees and berry bushes. (Also chickens and we raise steers.) We're at such an elevation-6,500 ft-that the garden doesn't produce this early, but it's started and we didn't have a mid-June hard freeze like last year. The sun here is hard on greens, I have a shade cloth but it's still tough. My lower squash garden isn't planted right now, because we're supposed to have a barn going in. I wish they'd finish so I could plant it! DH did plant spaghetti squash and butternut, but I want acorn also. Hey, friends, this is my favorite day of the year-the summer solstice! The longest day. Luckily, it'll be mostly sunny here today. Enjoy it! And keep your fingers crossed for my son's baseball game! |

Tee hee! For the rest of the summer, we will be thinking about worms. I have green tomatoes and I picked two cherry tomatoes yesterday. I have one jalapeno ready to pick.
Lisa, the grouchy pills are Hyland's Calms or Clams Forte. They are homeopathic remedies and have no side effects at all. They just sorta smooth out your brain. Forte has cell salts in combination with the herbal remedy. We find them at Walgreens or some health food stores OR online. (Hylands with the usual before and afters.) They have wonderful products: teething tablets, colic tablets and on and on. Beth, tried the pancakes today. They are really, REALLY good. ![]() Jim, I hope you're having a great time.

Tried the cauliflower pizza-DH and I both *love* it. DS#2 liked it a lot, DS#1 said "it's ok," and DD tried to be picky. We told her the story of her eating cauliflower soup at age 5 mos. It is very cheesy, it should be called mozzarella pizza crust with cauliflower! It is 1 cup cauliflower, 1 cup cheese. I tripled the recipe and added 1tsp italian seasoning, 1 tsp onion and 1tsp garlic powders. It would've tolerated quite a bit more garlic. PS I don't have a ricer, so I chopped the cauliflower fine with a knife.

Just read about the Calm's Forte......We take Melatonin at our house. I take it nightly and so does DD19 - non addicting, and it's what your body produces naturally to help you sleep........

This week I get to try my cauli pizza too, hoping to have good success w/it too.. i read a friend of mine on another forum uses her potato masher for the cauliflower and that helps mash it up too...
hmm the 5htp..ill have to look for that maybe... I tried melatonin, but it did absolutely nothing to help me ;( I may try the forte instead of the sleep md im using although both say they are 100% natural... ok.i see a new forum is up..oops sorry lol |

that is what im curious about... the sleep md i take definately helps w/that... i still wake up during the night, but not as frequently and then i fall back asleep sooooo much quicker, its the only thing that has worked that is natural so far.. im afraid to switch but im curious about the forte too...
