Hello all you beautiful beachers - how I've missed this place.

I am happy to report that as of today I am 142. I have been at this weight for almost 2 weeks. Also, I have been very OP as 1/2 my office is now following SBD. This is a new (as of July 1) job for me but it's with people I have known for years; they see the difference.

I am hoping to be in the 130s as of 1/1/09. I will have to do more exercise than I have been doing in order to achieve this mini goal. My running came to a quick halt as the weather got cold. I have been an outside runner and I am having a hard time running in this temperature. I have been considering a gym membership.

I am so happy to have found a few minutes to check-in, but it is my plan to continue to find these few minutes daily. I have let work and extra stuff get in my way - ugg.

- to all!!

TGIF!!

Doesn't it always seem like the week after a holiday goes on forever??? I've got a customer meeting up in North Jersey at 2:30 PM this afternoon. I mean, really, who chooses 2:30 PM on a Friday afternoon to start a meeting??

I am happy to report I am back to my low weight (146.) All Thanksgiving poundage has been lost We don't have too much going on this weekend, so I am hoping to keep things under control...I did get a 4-mile jog in on the boardwalk this morning. It was cold, but at least no wind.

But Anne, Wow!, 142 is great. Glad you checked in, it sounds like the new job is going well and it so excellent to have folks in your office doing SB with you.

The last time I was really successful losing weight was when we had a WW group in our building at work. I did it with a group of friends and we kept each other on the straight and narrow. Kind of like what we do here virtually

Rose, I cannot stand Florida. We definitely think Alabama can take them!! And yes, it would be great for PSU to get another Rose Bowl win before (if?) Joe Paterno retires.

Cindy, I am also feeling back to normal today after last weekend's indulgences. I could really feel it in my abs, I have lost that bloated feeling. Yick. (Probably TMI, too much information )

Cookie, Nothing I like more than a young Eagles fan!! We like to indoctrinate them early, before they start rooting for the Cowboys or something

Cali Girl, another lb. You are doing awesome.

Well, I usually don't post on the weekend, so have a good one!!

Hi beachers!

What a day so far...mostly good, though:

- I weighed the same this morning, none of that kilo I lost yesterday came back!
- The overnight temp. was much higher than it's been, probably around 50º F., so DH managed to get the car started! We spent the WHOLE morning stocking up on groceries, staples, pet food and other things we needed and couldn't get when the car didn't work (3 different stores in 2 different towns --our little town doesn't have a supermarket).
- This was all totally unplanned since we didn't know the car would start, so we ended up having lunch out...and it was NOT on plan. (So I bet there's the kilo back but I really enjoyed it anyway ).

Wiz - Congrats on getting back to your low weight! I know what you mean about Friday p.m. meetings. It's like when I have a client who absolutely has to have a translation turned in on Friday afternoon (yeah, like they're going to do anything with it over the weekend ).

Anne - good to see you back and skinnier! and your siggy says you did the whole C25K!! Wow, I'm impressed. I had to quit because my legs hurt too much, but at least I'm still walking a lot.

Cindy - have fun shopping!

Cookie - I don't even know what to tell you other than . I think your living arrangements would drive me nuts. Hang in there.

Cali Girl - way to go on the loss and the iron willpower, tossing that candy! I don't think I could have made myself do that.

to everyone I missed, and have a great day, and a great weekend!

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot to share this with you...it has had me smiling whenever I think about it. I always have a pretty odd assortment of music in my MP3 player, and most of the time I forget what all is there. Today I was surprised by this pasodoble, complete with the "olés", and it made me burst out laughing (good thing I do my walking in the open country and no one else was around). (Of course, now I've had it as an ear worm all day.) This video is very wobbly, but it's the best I could find, and I love the conductor.

Chantel - have you ever seen Tracy Effinger who does the squeeze workouts? Every time I see your pretty avatar I can't help but think that you resemble her. It's a compliment.

Off to home to do the rest of my workout.

Hey beachers,

Just a quick post from me this evening...I'm super tired and cranky...the teenagers drove me crazy this week.

On a positive note, I'm only one pound away from signature so most of the Thanksgiving gain is gone!

Anne- So glad to "see" you back! Wow, 142! You are doing so great!!

to everyone else. I'll post more this weekend!

Good Morning Guys

Cookie: I sure hope you get that job too. Nothing like a fresh start...without the extra baggage. I am thinking you are from Pennsylvania after your comment about Penn State. I used to live in Philly (and South Jersey) at one time in my other life. My DH and I are planning to return to the area in the next couple of years. He is off to Philly tom. for a week...lucky boy.

Luisa: Was just reviewing the week's contributions and saw your pasodoble utube contribution. I can just see you walking to that!

Anne and Rainbowlaserdragon glad to see you girls back on board.

Wiz - congrats on getting back to where you were before thanksgiving . Gives you a real high when that happens, doesnt it? Me, too

Dani: I know where you are coming from with your comment on the teens. I thought HS for 6 years in New Jersey. They can be trying sometimes. Just think..you have a nice and well deserved holiday coming up

Looks like the Spanish contingent has stopped the weight loss roll...but only for the moment...right Luisa? I didnt loose anymore yesterday and I was sure I would...being so good, and all Did an another hour of callenetics this am. Well, maybe the way I do them they should be called calinetics. Well, gotta go..have a ton of ironing staring me in the eye.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Cali - Nope, never been to Pennsylvania in my life. I'm an Oklahoma girl born and bred. But the job is in Philly, my son is a fan, and I am ready for East Coast life after 5 years in France. I'm not sure that Oklahoma will let me back in at this point.

Shopping was fun yesterday, but didn't get much done. My hardest this year are DDs BFs 21 and 22!

Anne - good to see you back! You are doing great!

I am heading out of town for the rest of the weekend to visit DD19 for her birthday (Thursday).

Hold down the fort and have a great weekend. See you soon!

Menu on target at breakfast but went rapidly downhill from there. But at least I got my hour of exercise in.

Have a great weekend all.

Hey beachers,

We're off to go see "Twilight" in a little while and then we will probably catch a bite to eat afterwards. The 3 ladies attending have all read the book while the guys haven't, so it should be interesting. DH's gone to see all the Harry Potter movies with me even though he hasn't read the books and he's likes them, so hopefully he'll like this one too, lol.

Yesterday was a lazy day for me. I was in the dumps and basically stayed in my PJs all day long. I haven't done that in a long time. I feel better this morning and am looking forward to spending today with DH and friends.

It's snowing here! First time of the season. I like the first snowfall...after that, I'm over it! Reminds me though that I need to get my tires replaced...they weren't great last winter.

Cali Girl- Yes, teenagers today are crazy sometimes!! It's the constant cell phone/IPod battle, and general attitude that gets to me sometimes. I usually take things in stride but this week there were several rude kids. What subject did you used to teach?

Cookie, Chantel, Rose, Cindy, Anne and the rest of the beach crew

Hey y'all, sick here and have a sick kid. Would LOVE to open up a can of soup, Amy's Organic Tomato bisque is what I am craving, do you think that would be SB friendly?

Hey all.

Had a totally on program day. Yippee. Did not get my callanetics done as planned but I did take a nice long walk and my legs and booty were screaming for a break after several days in a row of callanetics.

Lil Miss - hope you feel better

Chantel - enjoy the walk with your pooch.

Dani - do NOT tell me about the movie. I just got the books on Friday so I need to read them first. Hope you enjoy the movie and that your blues are all gone away.

Have a peaceful Sunday.

Not REALLY friendly; it contains added sugar and 20+ carbs for a 1 cup serving, so with that information you can decide if it's worth it.

Sometimes when you're sick you just want what you want.

Hey guys, I'm very new to the boards and have only been TRULY on SBD for a week (with the first 3 days being not exactly on target, thanks Rose for your help!). Glad to be here!

I was complaining a bit because I halfway started SBD a week before Thanksgiving, ate light on turkey day, looked at my self this past Monday and wondered why I hadn't lost any weight. I further complained when I went from Monday to Wednesday eating a half-hearted SBD with weak snacks and less vegetables than required and STILL complained about no weight loss though I did get to 165 which was better than my usual 168.

I can happily say that from Thursday to Sunday I am now down to 162. It's the kitchen scale and it tends to lie but the line is clearly below the 165 mark so I'll call it 162 until I get to the work scale tomorrow morning.

My biggest changes - veggies almost every meal or snack, snacks with either protein & dairy or protein & vegetable, and water water water (less than half a diet coke a day). I've got my gym bag packed and my iPod ready with tunes so I'm going to be on the treadmill at least 3 times next week. Wish me luck!

Home from my weekend!

Paulie - good to see you made it over here!!!

Lil Miss - I figure when you are sick; sometimes you just have to eat what sounds good, otherwise you may not eat at all. You will be fine and once you feel better, get back to it. And you will hear from me probably tomorrow!

Had a pretty good weekend eating wise and even got up at the hotel this morning and worked out! I am pround of myself!

Have a good Sunday night and see you all tomorrow!

Rose, I LOVE your avi.

I lost 1.5 this past week. I thought that I would lose more, but I think my bod is so confused with the "are you dieting this week or not" so I'm just happy that I lost. I can't wait to be able to have fruit, I really miss my fruit. I have one more week to go.

And I agree, Rose about the tomato soup, but I love the Campbells and there's so much sugar and sugar wanabees in it that it's not a good choice. I use water when I make mine, my Mom and DD use milk, but I prefer water in mine, that's the way my school use to make it when I was little, so that's what gives me the warm and fuzzy feelings when I eat it.

Talk to you all later, have a great Monday everyone.
