Hi lunchlady!

I am a South Beach Vet, having been on this program for over a year and a half and have been quite successful. I came by the way of Weight Watchers, Atkins, GLD.......I'm short, so 10-15 lbs is a lot for me, and always battled that same 10-15!

Anyway, I might get in trouble for this, but I can't give up my cream either. I have never cut it out - on Weight Watchers (the other programs it was ok), or SB. I just measure and use in moderation. I use regular half and half, and honestly, compared to some of the *junk* out there, I think it's pretty safe!

What are you using? If it's the powdered stuff, I would stay away from it, because it is full of junk, but if it's regular or ff half and half, measure it.

Other than that, follow the program to a T!

Sugar Free International Delight French Vanilla

[COLOR="Magenta"]Since we are talking about creamers, is corn syrup the same as high fructose corn syrup? The reason I'm asking is because I have some cream in the fridge and I was going to use it but it has corn syrup in it. I know we're not allowed high fructose corn syrup. The cream is sugar free french vanilla by International Delight. It claims there is splenda in it but also a trivial amount of corn syrup. Can I have it?

Yes, corn syrup and HFCS are one in the same. You'd be better off using half and half and avoid any foods that have corn syrup or HFCS in them.

I use the FF French Vanilla. I measure it. I only have 1 tablespoon just to have a little flavor. I don't like black coffee but can do with out sugar. I need the cream. I love half and half but have better weight loss by going with FF stuff.

I would check the ingredients of your FF French Vanilla - my guess there is some kind of sugar in it.....you'd be better off with your half and half and measure that. If you read my post above, I have never given up my half and half!

I LOVE Half and half so the idea of having it back is awesome. Would the fat free be better or just not worry about such small details? Sorry about the questions...I want to get this right. I tried this before and didn't follow thru now I want to make it a good life change rather than a fad diet.

Its all about learning to make the best choices for you. I use half and half in my coffee after using FF H&H and realizing it had HFCS in it. I'd rather pick my poison, if you know what I mean.

I opt for a bit more fat and calories just to not have the HFCS. Its really a personal choice. BUT...I have one large mug of coffee per day. If I had coffee every hour, I'd switch to something less in calories.

I never would have thought that I'd become the person I am today with all that I think about re: food. But its worth it to me!!

Here's my opinion. I would prefer plain half and half, although the book says ff. FF is adulterated. Some of us old-timers don't always agree with the book. So "right" would be ff. Experience tell us that real half and half, used wisely, works for us. Me, I drink coffee New Orleans style, half coffee, half hot, steaming milk. I count it as my milk allotment for the day.

Just remember that small details are important and do add up, so choose your details wisely. You have a great attitude; glad to have you with us.

In conjuction with Judy and Rose - you need to decide what's the best choice for you. FF half and half has what I call *junk* in it, that I don't need. In moderation, I haven't had a problem with half and half. I probably drink about three cups of coffee on average, daily........which is probably the same as Judy's *big * cup!

corn syrup?

WOW...I didn't know that FF half n half had corn syrup in it? Cant believe I didn't read the label...like I always do. Cant remember if it was on a message board or in the book ,But I read somewhere that it was recommended for SB? Sorry for the mistake. I would not recommend any thing with CS in it.
looks like Ill be making a switch too.

Unbelievable, but true. I go on a periodic rant about things like Cool Whip, ff half and half, and the SB "products" that are filled with sugar and other crud. Like their brains took a temporary vacation.

I am really looking at the sides of packages now. I'd much rather have the real stuff and not the "diet" stuff anyways.

I agree with that. Now, instead of the sweetened creamers I was using, I use regular half and half, and toss in some DaVinci's Sugar Free caramel syrup. It tastes good, and I don't overdo it.

walmart usually carries a couple of flavors in the coffee isle. My walmart does not have a big selection though. Mainly vanilla and hazelnut, I think.

I picked it up at Sam's Club. It's like a 55-gallon Econo-Size.

Just kidding! It was a pretty normal size bottle.
