A few quick suggestions. When you read the menu plans, you will notice that every meal and snack ( I prefer to call them mini meals) includes protein and vegetables ( or fruit in phase 2). Your food for the day is really light on veggies. You should have at least 1/2 c. of vegs with breakfast and about 4 c. more throughout the day.It is very important to eat regularly and not skip meals to keep your blood sugar stable. Some protein and vegetables about every three hours will do this. Good for you for realizing that you need lunch! And from an oldtimer, count your nuts! Nuts have been the downfall of many of us. ![]()

Have some celery, cucumber, cherry tomatoes with the cheese. For Breakfast, you often see V-8 juice on the menus for a quickie vegetable serving, but you can add many veggies to your omelettes. Green pepper, onion, mushrooms, spinach, asparagus, zucchini, broccoli. You can make a crustless quiche loaded with veggies and cheese to last for several days. Check your book and the recipe sticky for ideas. Get some veggies in there at lunch, also. It's hard to think South Beach style when you have been on Atkins. You'll be fine. ![]() Last edited by rose1 : 09-04-2008 at 03:29 PM. |

Oh I will try........this vegie thing is hard....wonder why?
I DONT LIKE THEM! ![]() Letuce, broccolli, mushrooms, and greenbeans it about all I can think of that I like. I think I might have to check out V-8......oh it better taste good!! lol I will look at the menus tonight.....I finished off the nuts today so I wont/cant eat anymore if there not in the house!! ![]() Thanks for the help And yes it is hard doing South Beach when I use to do Atkins....... Its hard to think VEGIE VEGIE VEGIE when you were only suppose to have 2 cups. Then the carb count in some menus scare me.....I think that is the scariest thing so far. |
