Second Day of Phase 1
I have 20# to lose. I'm really doing it because I have a MAJOR sugar addiction. I need some advice because the Lucky Charms are calling Me!
![]() I have a sweet tooth like you wouldn't believe. |

Maria - join the club with the sweet tooth but Holy, Cow, Lucky Charms???
Have you tried the NSA fudgcicles? They help me. Or maybe a "little bit" of dark chocolate? That helps too. Give it some time. Your sweet tooth will eventually back off. In the mean time, find what will satisfy the craving or just tough it out. There's just no good way to deal with that demon except out-stubborn it. Hope that helps. |

stick with this for 4 days, and that sweet tooth will be a thing of the past
Maybe some of the 10 calorie NSA popsicles would get you through it, or a walk, or a bubblebath or a big drink of water?? |

Um - Step away from the Lucky Charms!!! Try some deep breathing and stretches, and visualize yourself feeling fabulous and looking hot after those 20 pounds are gone!

Oh - and try eating something like a few almonds (naturally sweet, good fat - but don't overdo) or a string cheese, or a little bit of low-fat cottage cheese, or maybe celery with peanut butter or laughing cow cheese. Protein with a little fat will help to satisfy your cravings. Just give it time!

The best thing to do is to kill the sweet tooth. Kill the need to always have something sweet. Since you have a real sugar addiction, continuing to feed it with artificial sweeteners is not a wise idea. Eat some protein. Try string cheese, cottage cheese sprinkled with cinnamon, hummus and raw vegetables, celery and peanut butter, yogurt mixed with protein powder, egg salad.
Clear your kitchen of all junk. If it's not there, you can't eat it. |

Rose and Antonya have the best approach....but if you are having a hard time of it cold turkey then a diet soda (I use SF Jello) can take the edge off.....although it is rife with potential for abuse....so make sure to limit yourself.
If it was an addiction, then coming off your 'drug' will be hard....but you can do it. |

Maria - Sorry, I've been on vacation and I just checked this thread.
NSA - no sugar added. I've actually found that there's no good remedy for the demon sweet tooth. Rose is right - try the protein route. I've also used sf/ff yogurt mixed with various flavorings. I can't stand the yogurt plain but if you dress it up with some lemon extract or sf davinci's syrup it gives the sweet tooth the boot plus gives you the satisfaction of protein. You just kinda have to find what works for you. I'm actually from Beaver County so you've lived all around me in the past. Isn't that strange? ![]()
