Day 9.

I weighed myself a few hours ago--around 11. Looks like I've stabilized. I'm hoping a good pee will fix that We'll see. I haven't been eating the *required* three meals. I've just been eating at the times I get hungry. I didn't think it'd make a difference...

Heres a link to the thread:CALLANETICS CHALLENGE JUNE 2008, it is a very personalized and unique form of exercise utilizes precise positioning to isolate specific muscle groups and then by using tiny yet powerful movements which cause the muscles to work even deeper requiring more muscle fibers to be recruited

and it also rocks!

Ugh! I did SO good this weekend and the scale hasn't moved! I ate mostly fish and I swam 3 times! I did notice however that I am getting a little stronger while doing laps! and I FEEL pretty good... maybe even smaller, so hopefully the scale will WHOOSH for me in the next day or so.

Day one for me too!! I'm in the process of finishing up a veggie omelet.

TOM came yesterday, so I'm up a pound. Oh, well. I also kind of over-indulged a bit this weekend, in anticipation of phase 1...2 margaritas on Saturday night, and 2 beers and potato salad at a Father's Day cookout. And I never usually drink beer! But I also went on a lot of good walks.

Batty, if you go to the Exercise Board and just keep scrolling down (I think you need to go to the second page), you'll see the before and after thread for Callanetics.

So, to all of us newbies, here's to a successful phase 1!

Good morning SBeachers!

It was a rough weekend for me. Friends of ours invited us to join them for dinner on Friday and it was an Italian restaurant Then on Saturday we had a big family reunion to attend, with a ton of food. And on Sunday, I ended up working in the yard for hours - not really eating all day, so when dinner rolled around I ate like I would never see food again

And of course, all that excess showed up on the scale this morning...Oh well, as I've learned over the last 6+ months, get back on Phase 1 for a day or two and it usually gets you back to square one. I basically gained back what I lost last week, which brings me back to 30.5 lbs down. Not bad, I guess.

This is one of those weeks where I don't see any obstacles for getting my 35 miles of walking in, I've done 10 already between yesterday and today.

Annie - Don't worry, that scale will move. Just hang in there.

Momangel - Great job finishing up school! Don't be in too big of a hurry to find that job

Lil Miss - Great start for Day 1!

Batty - Congrats on the loss!!

Rose - Thanks for starting us off with another beautiful photo!

OK, I've got a pile of work to do. See you later...

Morning Beachers,

This week is gonna be crazy so i probably won't be posting much, My party is Saturday, and i have a TON going on, and while I'm not as toned as i would have like to have been i can tell a major difference, I've noticed that doing crunches everyday helps me get through almost all the reps on the callanetics stomach exercises, and I've been doing weight lifting, My eating has been so-so, i haven't eating enough and I've been skipping meals b/c I'm so busy, i know its not good for me, Anyways everyone

Joining the thread--Just finished cooking up my meal prep stuff for the week--stirfried mustard and turnip greens with onion and tomato and baked a bunch of chicken breasts--rinsed my beans and stored in the fridge and got together my work snacks of ff cottage cheese, celery sticks, hummus and hardboiled eggs--the advance prep seems to really help with sticking to the plan--

I am not weighing myself but am absolutely noticing a new leanness --and the clothes are not so tight!

Good Morning Beach Babes!

Sorry to be MIA last week. I was off from work and just felt "off" all week. Turns out I'm feeling off cause TOM stared visiting me during the night, the pig, LOL.

Had a great fathers day w/DH and kids! Actually the week was crappy, but the weekend was pretty nice. Tonight DS has baseball practice and tomorrow a game. Gonna drop him off at practice and come back home and walk on the treadmill.

I am recommiting to phase 1.5 today. I say 1.5 cause I will probably have at least small servings of fruit occasionally, maybe daily.

We went to Walmart this weekend and got the kids Dance Dance Revolution as their "treat" since they both had all As & Bs on their final report cards. It has an exercise section, I'm thinking about checking out! This is the first game that DD8 has EVER wanted to play on the PS2, LOL. We can spend some time together bonding doing DDR! LOL

Also, someone on last weeks thread was asking about what to order at starbucks. You can order any of their drinks "skinny" and they are made w/sf syrup and ff milk. I know a lot of folks like the cinamin dolce and I like the skinny mocha frap.

And protein powder is allowed, just make sure the kind you get does not have sugar. I bought the vanilla flavored Body Fortress that walmart sells.

I'm on the last day of TOM.

I was bad all weekend. No low carb friendly food at the US Open. But, I did walk miles and miles and miles. We had a blast.

I just decided to write the whole weekend off. Had 2 glasses of wine Saturday night and had pizza yesterday. Didn't gain anything.

I did, however, notice this morning that I've lost more than an inch off my waist. My work trousers are hanging really low on my hips. Button goes about 2 inches past the hole.

I'm loving those vitamins. I usually have a hard time waking up in the morning and I don't sleep well, plus I'm usually exhausted by the time I get home from work. Now, I'm not having to wrestle myself out of bed in morning, I'm not crawling into bed at 9:30pm and I'm sleeping better. Plus I'm not taking 50 different vitamins to get what I need. I really didn't think they'd make that big of a difference, but they are.

Good Morning!

Hello to all you beautiful SB goddesses out there!

How is everyone doing?

I FINALLY conquered the plateau! Dropped two more lbs. I've lost 12.2 in four weeks. Not as much as I would have liked, but can't complain. At least I didn't gain 12.2lbs in the last month! .

I am getting ready to make the quiche cups Thanks for suggestion, Rose! You always have such possitive suggestions...much appreciated.

Linda

Tina THANK you so much for the starbucks and protein powder info!

Hi to all, I am JAZZED to be starting! All is going well so far, but it's only noon

I was BAD all weekend at the beach and once again, I saw how eating carbs gave me heartburn and made me feel yucky. I am a long time atkineer, who hasnt been able to stick to it since going off when I got pregnant and then was nursing. I am psyched about SB, DH is doing it with me,which really helps...

I will have to check out the callanetics thread sometime, its hard now with my three little guys out of school....

Oh yeah, soulwings, TOM here too.

Linda-12.2 in 4 weeks is GREAT! I hope to do as well!

Ouizoid, I plan on not weighing either, I am too brutal on myself when the scale fluctuates...

Hi to batty, Antonya, Wiz, Annie, [dont worry the scale will move again] NenaP, mom angel and rose and anyone else I might have missed! Thanks for sharing all your stories and info!

Me too! Scary, isn't it, how TOM has been getting around?

All of you Callanetics people have convinced me. I am going to order a DVD. I haven't done any exercises in years (I just do my walking), so I'm really not sure whether I can get the "10 years younger in 10 hours" or would need to get the "Beginning Callanetics". I don't mind if it takes me a while to get the hang of the 10/10 one; I just don't want to get something that's completely beyond my capabilities (I'm a grade-A klutz but at least I'm pretty flexible). Any opinions from those of you who know about this? Rose?

Tina, glad you're back! Good luck with your recommit.

Nena - good luck with the party preps! but don't forget to take care of yourself.

Lil miss, Antonya, Debra - hope you all get off to a great start with Phase 1!

Annie - the scale does funny things sometimes, so just try to ignore it (yeah, I know...I'm a scale junky so I'm not one to talk, really )

Wiz - I'm sure you'll get rid of the weekend weight in just a day or two.

Congrats to those with losses, and to everyone I missed! (and I guess I'd better get back to work, since it isn't going away).

They're called Passion 4 Life. No carbs, no calories, no sugar. Their website isn't set up to take orders yet. We bought ours directly from the owners daughter. But, if you want to give them a try, I'd be happy to get some from the owner's daughter and send it to you.
