Good morning SBeachers!!

I'm all over having another 35-mile walk week!! Went Sunday morning at 6:15 AM (because we were going to early church for my niece's confirmation!) and got another 5 in today. 10 miles down, 25 to go

I was actually pretty much OP for the weekend, so I was not unhappy to see an extra 1/2 lb this morning. For me, that's practically like losing weight over the weekend

Our contractor has told us that all house work will be done by the end of this week. (Although I'll believe it when I see it....) It's all looking so nice, I can't wait to start cooking in my updated kitchen. The tile backsplash was finished on Saturday morning and looks especially cool. My husband and I are so, so tired of either going out or grilling every night. It will be so good to have a cooktop and a (double wall!!!) oven again.

I paraded around town in my new size 12s this weekend and was surprised how many people noticed that I have lost weight. The moral of that story is you need to wear clothes that fit you! No, I'm not going to spend a lot of $$ on clothes until I hit my goal (I'm about ~12 lbs away) but you do need to at least have a couple items that fit well. Baggy clothes are fine for around the house, but it's really a big morale boost to look good when you're losing weight.

Rasmus - Welcome!! I'm a recent (Jan 2008) convert to SB and I am loving it. I hope you feel the same once you've been doing it for a while.

Rose - That photo on this week's thread is pretty wild. First of all, I'd love having all those steps - think how much exercise you'd get!! but wow, it looks like that house is perched pretty precariously

Momangel - What a great new pic of you and your family! You look phenomenal, and your family is adorable.

Dani - Saw from last week's thread that you are down another lb. You are my hero!!

OK, all, have a great week! Stay focused and OP.

Very true! I've found that I'd rather buy a pair of well-fitting capri's on sale at Penney's or T.J. Maxx and look good while in the weight loss process, than hide even a modest weight loss under baggie clothes. That is so great, Wiz - 12 pounds to go. You're almost there.

My family and I just returned from a vacation at DisneyWorld, and I was determined to stick to as much of the South Beach plan as humanly possible. I think I did pretty well considering that they do add sugar to salad dressings, and other sneaky things.

I decided I'd allow myself one dessert while we were there (Pistachio Gelato at the Italian restaurant at Epcot on Friday night) and a couple of glasses of red wine throughout the vacation. I did have sushi at the Japanese restaurant yesterday, but you just can't have sushi without the rice!

Luckily with all of the walking I think my little indescretions didn't amount to a major setback. My pants didn't fit any differently anyway! Whew.

I'm going to weigh myself in a couple of days now that I'm home and back to being able to totally control what I eat. (Hello flax, I missed you coconut oil.) I just can't weigh myself today, I'm too sckeered.

It's great reading through everyone's check-in on this thread and last week's. Gets me back in the mindset, and feeling like there are others on this same road. Keep up the good work everyone!

Stuck to my menu again, except ricotta for desert and green beans instead of broccoli. It was a littl hard to stay out of candy today as I forgot my nuts and cheese, but I had coffee instead and it got me through!

Hi everyone!

Finally got rid of the job I was working on (*breathes a giant sigh of relief*). That one really had me going.

I'm still on phase 1 to get back on track (since Monday of last week) and it is definitely working! I was down about a pound and a half this morning, so I've now lost 25.5 total. I'll probably do the rest of the week on phase 1 and start phase 2 next week. I feel really good about this because I hadn't been doing so great in the last month and now I feel like I can move forward again.

Rasmus and Adream -

Wiz - good for you in your new size 12's! I am in 12's in some of my jeans but the others are still muffin top city, so I was really glad to see the scale move this morning. It would be great to finally ditch all of the 14's for good but I can't until I have more of a selection among the 12's.

Vero - good luck with your finals.

Rose, Tina, Dani, Nena, Melrose, Wendy -

Yesterday's menu:

B - 1 egg, 2 Canadian bacon, gazpacho, decaf w/2% milk
S - cashews (I guess 15-20, there were too many broken bits to count, near the end of the can, and then that's it. Cashews are too dangerous for me, so I'll stick to walnuts, pistachios and almonds in the future. They're more resistible )
L - broiled lamb chops, big salad (mixed lettuce, tomato and cuke) w/Italian dressing, ff sf yogurt with vanilla
S - 1 slice RF Havarti cheese
D - tuna salad, celery w/blue cheese, grape tomatoes

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi ladies!

Just peeking in to say good morning before my first final. I'm being really bad tho because I know I'm transfering to a school in Texas, so my grade won't transfer, all that shows up is that I took the course and passed. This is making me feel very lazy, like why study? who needs an A anyway? I don't know, I guess I should at least put in a little effort. Anyway, gotta go. I'll BBL!

Good morning!

It's a beautiful day here in NJ (finally ) and I got another 5-mile walk in! (15 miles down for the week, 20 to go...) Funny thing, I actually had strangers (well, these are people I see every day on the boardwalk and I say Hi to them, but don't "know" them) ask me about my weight loss! In a way, it's kind of embarassing because I'm thinking - just how chubby did I look all winter??? Oh well, I'll focus on the positive

I don't know whether to be happy or nervous - my husband is really kicking my butt this week on the scale! He's been losing weight right along with me, but not as much (because, of course, he never gave up drinking lite beer and he also sneaks in pizza when I am traveling for business ) But he hit the 20 lb mark this week, so now I need to put things in high gear. I can't have him passing me!! The competition begins

Vero - Good luck on your finals!

Luisa - Great job on getting your focus back, it looks like Phase 1 has done the trick and you are back to your losing ways We're neck and neck again! I lost the 1/2 lb weekend weight gain and another 1/2 lb this morning, so also at 25.5 off!

Wendy - Your menu looks great, awesome job staying away from the sweets! every time I conquer one of those cravings, it's like another mountain has been climbed.

Hi to everyone else! Have a great OP day

Good Morning Beach Babes!

yesterday's eats:
b - 2 eggs, rr
s - taco soup, cheese stick
l - egg cream, green beans w/T of bacon bits
s - 2 eggs, rr
d - wings, celery w/ranch

Man it was quiet in here yesterday! I'm back tho, so no more of that! I'll keep our thread count up!

NYC was great! Too bad it was only a day trip. I really want to go back. It was so chaotic tho because we did not have a plan. Definately have a plan for next time! I would like to take the kids there someday also. We had dinner at Planet Hollywood which was cool.

I did not weigh myself this morning. Day one down! Don't get me wrong I wanted to, but i didn't. I'll see how tomorrow goes. (challenging myself to weigh at the most once a week!)

Baseball game tonight, thank goodness it is a home game, no DQ after!

Summy - You've been a busy gal!

Wiz - My DH and I are challenging each other right now also. This week though he is at his mothers place in virginia eating her home cooking, so I'm hoping I can win!

Luisa - 25.5 lbs! You rock! That's awesome!

Wendy - Fiesta or siesta? NEITHER! Work and it's very irritating!

Melrose - How are things going for ya?

Nena - an 80s theme sounds cool, you know, of course that we'll need pics!

and to the new SBers!

Stinking work is calling again! BBL is I can!

Morning everyone. I was looking at pics of myself from last summer & am shocked at what I saw. Why is it when we gain weight we don't really see ourselves like that? I still have a ways to go but 25 lbs gone feels great.

Not having a good day today. I picked up my twins from their sitter of 4 years yesterday & one of them had some bruises on her face & arm. The sitter didn't "hit" her but she lost her temper & squeezed her arm while lifting her over a deck where she supposedly bumped her face. My girls said she yelled at them, scared them, pushed them, etc.. We have NEVER had a problem with the sitter in the past; she has been wonderful. But her husband has been laid off of work for a few months & she's showing signs of frustration. Regardless, these are my girls & I can't bring them back there. They are asking me why they aren't going there today because they miss their friends. I'm doing the right thing, right? Sorry so long.

Tina - They turned 4 in March. They've been going to the same sitter since they were about 5 months old.
