The Scoop on the New Book

I have the library copy of the new book and although we can't display it until April 28, I brought it home to preview. I was a little bit afraid that I would be disappointed in it, but I am thrilled. The presentation of the "diet" is considerably clearer; food lists are more precise; he discusses new research and how it applies to South Beach; there is a chapter on supercharged foods; a section in which Dr. A, himself, answers the most frequently asked questions; the recipe section is wonderful and there are new ideas for "snacks"; references, which were lacking in the original book; there is a chapter about our children, " A Generation Overfed and Undernourished"; there is a section about exactly how one might move into phase 2, which was confusing in the original book. Just a few highlights.

Importantly, there is a comprehensive section on the importance of exercise and a three phase exercise program which incorporates some work with light hand weights. You are eased into the program in a non-threatening way and ladies who have not exercised before will be able to handle the beginning program. Serious exercisers might find the program too easy, but for most ladies, it is a good, balanced program.

If you pre-order, you will receive the workout DVD free. If you have pre-ordered, you definitely haven't wasted your money.
