Hi folks,

Another rainy, miserable day today. Hasn't stopped for more than 5 minutes at a time all day. It's been raining for almost 2 weeks straight now. We do need it, but it's starting to get to me.

I was mostly good with P1 yesterday except for wine at lunch. Oh well, I enjoyed it, so I suppose that counts for something!

Yesterday's menu:

B - 1 egg and 2 egg whites, scrambled w/1 sm. onion, serrano ham, 1 LC light; gazpacho and decaf w/a dash of 2% milk
S - a few roasted garbanzos
L - caldo gallego (this is a wonderful soup: broth, chard, white beans, ham and potatoes--I didn't eat the potatoes), grilled salmon, lettuce and tomatoes drizzled w/EVOO and vinegar, red wine
S - none
D - cherry tomatoes, olives, celery w/blue cheese and 1 oz turkey chorizo

Hope you all have a great day!

Rachel- Frittata sounds yummy. Recipe?

Rose- So spill it! How's the new SB book so far?

Have a great day gals and I'll check in tomorrow.
fritatta is just what I call it. Not sure thats what it really is but its 12 eggs a little half and half cheese meat and veggies poured into a quiche dish and bake at 350 till set. It makes 8 servings. its pretty good and they heat up good for fast bfast all week long.

I do. You get to the point where calories do count in the end. I don't count every calorie, but I am aware of what and how much I eat. DD not so much.

No worries Rachel! Thanks for the frittata recipe BTW. :-)

Morning Phase 1 Ladies!

Had a nice day yesterday. I took my mom out to lunch and then we had our nails done. She's had a rough year w/the divorce but yesterday was a good day. I'll be visiting my Dad Tuesday and am going to do a similar day with him. (Well, minus the nails! ) It's kinda weird when your parents are divorcing at 27, but life happens I guess.

Weight was the same this morning. I don't count calories yet, but I anticipate that as I get closer to goal I will need to start.

I am planning on grocery shopping and working out today.

Have a great Sunday all!!

Hello everybody. I went off plan for the past 3 or 4 days......don't know why...I went to work with no OP food.....ate junk all night, and it continued over 4 days. This morning, however, I am back on plan. I will make sure I am always prepared. If I cheat once, it just seems to snowball. I can't cheat. That's the bottem line with me.

I have a couple more questions: where do you buy the different SF syrups? Is it pancake syrup? So you mean, if I put it in ricotta cheese, or plain SF yogurt, it will taste yummy? I just have a hard time imagining this!! How much do you put in? Maybe I need to do that, so I won't be tempted when I am craving something sweet!!!

B: I had 2 scrambled eggs with: mushrooms, onions, and 2 peices chopped canadian bacon. And a SF jello with a bit of sf whipped cream.

Not sure about the rest of the day, but it will be on plan, that's for sure.

Another question: I just seem to have to have 1/2 pack of that "to go" crystal light for your water...in every single bottle of water I drink. I am trying to just drink plain water, but it is blah!!! Does anybody else never drink plain water? I am going to work on it.

I plan on posting more on here. It keeps me accountable.

I have so much weight to lose, I really need to stay on p1 for a month. What do you all think??? Or should I just go ot p2 after 2 weeks, like the book says????

Have a great day!!!

P1ers... I did really well on P1 until Friday dinner and all day Saturday... I was on the go all day and just did not plan.... ugh...

back at it today...

have a great day

Good morning beachers!

Well, yesterday was not a good day at all! I was supposed to accompany a friend from school to a bachelorette party because she didn't want to go alone. I told her I wouldn't go to the restaurant (because I didn't want to eat off-plan), but I would go to the bar w/ her. Well, DH went to have a "man-night" w/ his friend. His friend's fiance got off work early so they were all hanging out together drinking. Meanwhile I got all dressed up, did my makeup, curled my hair, and waited for her to call me. At 10pm I was tired of waiting so I went to meet up w/ Dh & his friends. DH was drunk and we ended up leaving because his friend's fiance was in psycho mode again. DH & I got into an argument and I hit McD's on the way home. I ordered a big mac n' fries. I don't know why I sabotage myself when I get angry, but I really need to stop. Anyway, I was up 1 lb this morning so combined with the 4 lbs I had lost, I am now down 3 lbs. Oh well, I'll try to make up for it this week. Today I'm sticking to a phase 2 menu and tomorrow I'll be back OP phase 1.

Dani: I took a look at the Callanetics before & after thread and I'm convinced that it's probably a great workout, but I wanted to ask you which tape/dvd you're doing? I'm thinking of ordering the 10/10 off ebay.

to all my other beach pals!

Hello folks!! I am here. I went to the Renissance Faire yesterday and had a great walk!! We were there for about 4 hours. It was really fun and I had a steamed artichoke with butter and mayo! Mmmmm....

Well, I am actually on my way out the door. First off I am down 1.4 pounds since last sunday....not bad considering I had a really pretty terrible week. Went to the store last night, which is good!

My menu today:
B: eggwhite omlet, onions, 12 cherry tomatoes, 1 oz 2% velveeta
S: cup coffee, SF syrup, non dairy creamer
L: blackened chicken, and salad (out to eat)

Be back later!!

h20 question

HI everyone beautiful in so calif today. Hope to swim soon and get back into water aerobics.

I do put crystal light into my water and I count it towards my 60-80 ounces a day. Is that what everyones water goal is?

Alsoo use alot of lemons rind and all crushed into my water with a splenda.

Hi all,

Congrats to everyone who's managed to stay "clean"...but I see that I'm not the only one who has slipped up. Yesterday I was good except for wine with lunch, and today it was a brownie . I don't know what is the matter with me sometimes. That brownie sat here for days and I was fine with it until my husband told me he wasn't going to eat it, and I ate it myself rather than throwing it out. again.

Today's menu:

B - 1 egg, scrambled w/2 egg whites and onion, serrano ham, 1 LC light; gazpacho and decaf w/2% milk
S - 30 pistachios
L - roast chicken, asparagus and sliced tomatoes
S - café con leche, brownie
D - tuna salad w/onion, sliced tomatoes, HB egg

Oh, I also ordered the book/DVD

Caper, you can find some of the SF syrups at Wal-Mart, for example, or can order online here: DaVinci Sugar Free Syrups

Vero, Turtle, Caper - let's see if we can get back on track tomorrow.

I still have a couple hours of work left, so I'd better quit procrastinating.

Dr. A addresses this in the new book. "Phase 1 is not meant to be a long-term eating plan." ...t"here's a key reason to go on to phase 2. We don't want you to miss out on the myriad vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that come from reintroducing whole fruits and whole gtrians to your diet, not to mention the added fiber." He goes on, "For the diet to truly become a lifestyle--one that allows you to sustain weight loss and garner all the related health benefits--there has to be variety and satisfaction in your eating plan." Etc. In other words, go to phase 2.

He also discusses the need to curb sugar cravings. To continually feed yourself sweet things feeds these cravings, whether your sweet is sugar free or not. If you continually have a sweet taste all day, there is no chance that you can curb these cravings. Also, just the sweet taste sets up an insulin response in your body and your brain thinks that food will follow. If there is no food in the offing, then you store fat.

Posting yesterday's food.

Western omelette, V-8, big salad with proteiny things in it, string cheese, almonds, Black bean soup, salsa guacamole, sour cream. There must have been something else, but darned if I can remember.

Well, today is the last day of the first week of phase 1. How did we do? Who's doing another week?

Hi ladies!

Just checking in to say that I am sooo ready to get back to phase 1 tomorrow morning. I hope that meal last night doesn't have too bad an effect. DH & I drove around looking for cars all day and then I walked my dogs, so that's the only exercise I got in today.

Rose: Thanks for the info. I'm doing at least 1 more week. I've never tried staying on for more than that, but since I have a goal in mind before I get back to Tx, I'm thinking I might do 2 more weeks of phase1 Mon-Fri and phase 2 on the weekends.

Teresa: Congrats on the loss!

Pokey: I never set a daily water goal for myself, though I should probably start. 60-80 oz sounds right to me.

Luisa: For sure we're back to phase 1 tomorrow morning. I can't wait.

Goodnight everyone!

Thanks to those who answered my questions. I am starting my 2 weeks of phase 1 all over again....where I was off it for 4 days. I am afraid to get back on the scale, because I bet I have gained back most of what I lost. I will go to phase 2 after 2 weeks. And I will strive to drink plain water....or taper my crystal light additives down until I don't need any anymore.

Another thing....I need to start exercizing again. Haven't done a thing in over 7 days!!! I think I need a swift kick in the rear!!!!

Good day to all!!!

Everyone ready for Phase 1 Week 2?!? I am! Got all my groceries ready for the week. It will be a little more challenging for me this week as I am on vacation and won't have the regularity of my work schedule, but I aim to stay OP! I lost 3 lbs. last week and I hope to lose at least another 3 this week.

new posters!

Vero- I own the 10 in 10 video. It is great!! With more practice, I think I will eventually buy the Callanetics Evolution and Super Callanetics, since I hear those ones are more difficult.

Exercise yesterday: 1 Hour callanetics

Yesterday's Eats:
B: 2 scrambled eggs, 2 canadian bacon pieces
S: 2 string cheeses
L: hummus and veggies
S: 15 almonds
D: grilled chicken, veggies
S: NSA chocolate mousse

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!

I just posted this this question on the daily check in....glad to see your response here rose. i am wondering though, when you do phase one, and have a slip up such as i did last night--i ate rolls with honey butter, and not just one! is it important to continue with phase one in order to make sure your sugar cravings dont surface again?? and this time, WITH NO CHEATS????

i hope i am explaining myself clearly

posting my menu later!

take care!!!!!!!!!

POKEY: Nice. I bet it is nice to have animals...horses and mini donkeys. That is really cool. I would want to always be outside to be with them. That is so wonderful!!

Well, I weighed myself today and lost a fraction more...nothing to write home about. Only like. 0.4 pound. I am trying to stay positive though. One thing that I did realize is that when I have cool whip or rediwhip at home I want to always eat it all. Also if I make pudding or dessert that is "supposed" to be more than one serving I try to eat all of it.

I tried to make mousse yesterday but it ended up turning out like coolwhip consistancy that has a taste of vanilla pudding....so what did I do? Put 3 TBS of PB in it!!! Ugh...so that is what I had for breakfast today!! I am gonna dump the remainder out because there is whipping cream in it and that is a heck of a lot of calories and I have already had a crap load today!!

MENU:
B: 2-3 TBS NPB mixed with "homemade" mousse whip?! (heavy whip cream, FF milk, FFSF vanilla pudding mix, splenda, 3 TBS NPB) I ate a ton...I hope it will not affect my weight.
L: Gee...should I even attempt to eat anything?
D: Again...should I?

Gonna go to the gym here in a bit after I do some research for my sister and after I dump out the rest of my "homemade" concoction.

Take care all!! Wish me luck...
