I guess you could say coffee is our vice.
We mail order special coffee. We did away with our big pot and bought a 4 c. maker , which actually makes 3 c. so we wouldn't drink so much. Now if we want more, we have to actually make another batch. |

Hello lovely Beach Babes.
Do you mind if I join in again? Some of you may remember me. I was a regular a couple of months ago and have done pretty well. Made it into Onederland AND the 40+ club... but now I have stalled cause I have not even been trying. I don't mind the stall since I have been maintaining with no effort... kinda nice. BUT, after a lot of emotional stuff, I am ready to get back into it and try to drop the other 35+ that will put me at goal. Dani - I LOVE the avatar. Look at all your hair! Beautiful. Vero - still not eating breakfast? I have actually adopted that habit and need to break it. Rose - OH, I am a coffee junky! Bonafide, certifide, coffee-holic!

Good morning!
Cookie, it is so nice to see you back! Congrats on maintaining this whole time I'm still having trouble finding something to eat for breakfast when I'm in phase 1. In phase 2 I have so many more options, so it's not a problem. Yes, you definitely need to break the habit just as badly as I do. P.s. your avi pic is so cute!Dani: Congrats on the loss! You are rocking GF! Traditionally, "charro" beans are homemade pinto beans cooked w/ chopped up hot dog links, bacon, chorizo, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, hot sauce, and beer.Since I'm usually in a hurry, I improvise and use canned ranch style beans that come with jalapeno slices. I add in chorizo, chopped up: hot dog links, turkey bacon, onions, tomatoes, and jalapenos. I add in the hot sauce (I use Tapatio sauce) and omit the beer (darn!, LOL!). They are really yummy, and my DH loves them. As a matter of fact, when I got home last night around 8:45, he had already eaten 3/4 of the pot of beans! Well, since DH and I received orders yesterday to move back to Tx by Aug, I have to start calling the universities and finding out where I have to transfer...what a pain! On top of that I have a lot of school work to do and I also want to get in some sort of exercise. I'm gonna be very busy today. I've decided to stay off the scale till weekend challenge weigh ins on Fridays. Teresa, Rose, Rachel, & anyone else I missed. BBL!

Another day. I CAN do this. I have a ton to do today...just can't seem to get motivated right now.:annoyed:
DANI: YOU GO GIRL!!! You rock!! EXCELLENT job on your weight loss so far...send the loss this way!![]() COOKIE: We would be happy for you to join us here at the restart of PH 1. We are all in the same "stalled" or "gained" boat. ![]() LONGINGTOBELITTLE: You seem to like faux potato salad. ![]() VERO: breakfast girlie!! Do you like NF yogart?? MY MENU FOR THE DAY: B: eggs, LS v8...coffee or tea S: 8 oz FF hood milk, whey protein L: 8 oz FFP yogart, SF syrup, steamed brussel sprouts D: meatless chik'n cutlet, steamed veggies, 1 TBS SF bbq sauce ![]() **not sure what my other snack will be** Does anything look wrong here? Do you think I am eating too much or too little of anything? ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. FYI- I do not eat meat everyday if you haven't noticed. I just find that it is a lot of extra calories and I just try not to eat it ALL the time. I would rather fill up on other things. It is a "health" thing for me...that's all.

hey everyone!!
i would liketo join this thread!! i am on day nine of phase one.....i am a former weightwatchers gal, but got sick of keeping track of all the counting!!!! last night, when i was roaming the msg boards, i came across one of the lc recipe threads...do any of you incoorperate lc recipes with this way of eating? for example, the oopsie roll recipe, would that be somthing that would benefit this woe?? just thinking about what pahses two and three will be like, and if i should do a lc alternative in certain situations??? ![]() have a great day! i will post a menu of what my eating is for the day later on!! ![]() vivian |

Hi everyone,
I'm in on this Phase1 thing too, I went back Monday and have been doing pretty good. All I'm really eating is a huge variety of vegetables with feta and a little butter, fish, seafood, and eggs. So there's my menus! LOL I walk between 3/4 miles a day too, every day. That's the exercise program! My mom is going to be here in a week and she's the one that got me started on South Beach so I really want to WOW her with my weight loss, she hasn't seen me in 30#! And it was the 30 lbs that made the difference between plain old fat and overweight so I know I look a lot different... it'll be fun to see her! Good job everyone and Vero thanks for the charro "recipe", my husband will love that... we eat a lot of mexican/texmex... how exciting to be moving too! OK gotta run...

![]() A lot of people here really like the oopsie rolls. I hear they are DELISH!! I have never made them....I know, people probably think I am nuts. Honestly I am afraid that they will be so yummy that I will eat a ton! ![]() As far as the phases go....just think about PH 1 for now. PH 2 you will be able to add some fruits and starches like whole wheat and whole grain. Add them in slowly though...don't go overboard. See how your body reacts to them. Everyone is different. As far as the LC recipes...sure they are totally fine. Just make sure that they are made with lean meats and whole grains/wheat. I also try to make sure that they aren't too fatty. Some recipes call for butter, cream, LOADS of cheese, etc....Sure that is LC, but not healthy. Sometimes you can alter things. If you have any questions just ask us. You will do great!! Southbeach is wonderful!! |

YES! I have done Southbeach since March 20, 2005 to be exact! I have loved every step of the way. I reached my goal last March 2007, and since then I put on about 18 pounds (as of today). So that is why I am back on to PH 1. School has been REALLY stressful and I just kinda forgot about myself and health. Obviously I have tried many other "diets" in the past and have found success as far as weight loss, but they were NOT ways of living for me. The thing is, is you have to find a lifestyle that works for YOU. Some things work great for some, but not for others. I haven't tried the egg cream shake. Where did you get the recipe? Did you use the FF half and half? That stuff isn't too bad in taste really. I have to measure it otherwise I won't realize how much I am using. That would be bad news for me. ![]() Last edited by teresawilliams0701 : 04-16-2008 at 01:30 PM. |

teresa- I made to much of the faux potato salad. I still have 2-3 servings left LOL... I have been eating off it since sunday. It is pretty good though.
thinkfast- welcome Hi to everyone else. The board has been quite active today ! Today for me has been good so far. I went to work and wanted to kick my grumpy old lady I worked for. She is so mean. I got in trouble for washing the counters with wendex and a paper towel and for not taking everything off the bed every time I make it. Just out of curiosity how many of you actually remove everything from your bed flat sheet and all every time you make it?? Also what do you clean your counter with?? I was instructed that everyone knows that you make a sink full of sudsy water (dish soap and water) and use the rag you wash your dishes with to clean it with?? Ok I am done complaining now. LOL I will post my menu later. Have a GREAT DAY!! |
