I'm New Too!

Hello All!

I'm so glad I have found this place. I have been "Googling" South Beach Forums for days trying to find one that was current and it has taken forever to get here... Don't know why?

My uncle was put on South Beach about a year ago by his cardiologist, after suffering a "cardiac incident". My aunt did the diet with him and lost 70 lbs, so here I am!

I'm on day 5 of the SBD and I'm following the menus in the book for Phase I. I lost 4 pounds in the first 4 days, so I was pretty happy with that, but when I stepped on the scale this morning, I had gained 1/2 pound. I don't really understand this? Anyone have any ideas.

Also, I haven't been as "regular" (if you know what I mean) since starting SBD. It seems to me that the veggies should be packed with fibre and things should be moving pretty freely. I added "Benefibre" to my V8s, but things are still pretty sluggish and now my face is breaking out in acne as well...

Can anyone help me figure out what is going on? I'm committed to stick out at least the 2 weeks of Phase I and hope that everything regulates itself.

Cheers!

Depending on how cruddy your diet was before SB, you are getting rid of toxins, therefore the breakouts. Fiber holds water ( I answered you on the other thread, too ) so it's not unusual to hold a little water weight. Be sure to drink enough water.

And to the beach. Obviously, you have seen the result of this way of life first hand.
