Hello

I am new here. And I think I am going to try the SBD. I have the book already and it seems the least extreme of the low-carb diets.

I know I need to eat a carb controlled diet because I have insulin resistance and PCOS.

So my plan is to re-read the SBD this week and lurk around here a bit to get more information.

Hi Lola,

I also have PCOS and insulin resistance... I've been on the beach for almost 6 months and feel better than I have in a very long time.

If you haven't checked out this thread yet you should:
PHASE 1 FOOD LIST AND SAMPLE MENU

It has a list of all the SB Phase 1 approved foods and at the bottom of that list there is a Phase 1 Sample Menu. The first month or so I was on the beach I had a copy of the sample menu out in front of me every night while I planned my menu for the next day. It helped me immensely.

Please feel free to ask if you have any questions at all.

Ellen

Hey thanks for the welcomes, rose and 1oftheLuvs.

I will check out that thread now. I'm so excited to be getting back on track.

How long is a person supposed to stay on phase 1?

Two weeks, then move to phase 2. You will be resetting your chemistry in phase 1, then eating for life in phase 2.

Hello and welcome. I'm new to this board too. But have been on SB for a year. You will love this WOE. It's the only one that has worked for me.

I don't think we can use signatures from tickerfactory here. I tried to get mine to work and it wouldn't.

You can't put it in your signature; you have to post it each day. They're fun to use, though.

Lola, you're doing great! I just saw your stats and it looks like you're doing pretty dang good! You'll do great, you must have a lot of determination and motivation, keep it up!

Now I know why my ticker doesn't work! LOL

to SB, Lola.

Pop over to the weekly thread. We talk about all kind of things and it's a great place for information, support and recipes. Some of the ladies are real whizzes in the kitchen.

Glad to have you and I wish you much success in your journey.
