Mornin' beachers. Up bright and early to say goodbye to MIL and her hubby. They're headed to minneapolis so she can get some more tests done. Hopefully they'll pass through here on the way back. Wasn't able to go to the gym this weekend as I was preparing for their quick visit. Ate OP, just very little yesterday. Come to think of it, hubby brought us Panera for dinner last night and I'm not sure the bread for my sandwich was whole grain. I told DH to ask for whole grain, but it looked different than the bread I had last time. I hope it was.

Yesterday's menu:
B: flatout pizza
S: none
L: none
D: c cheddar broccoli soup & turkey/bacon sandwich, both from Panera

Good Morning Beachers

Eating yesterday was not what it needs to be. DH and I spent the whole day at the hospital. We each grabbed an apple on the way out the door. His grandma was being taken off of the ventilator (per her wishes) and the nurses basically said she was terminal. She passed during the night.

1of - No worries! Rose is way more eloquent than I am and made is sound much better about the snacks/meals things. I probably had it all jumbled up!

Keep up the good work everyone, I don't know how often I'll get back in over the next few days.

Tina - I'm so sorry for your loss!

I went a bit overboard this weekend, but mostly OP.

Here's to a better week. TOM is here and with full force

Vero - I pronounce your name with the hispanic accent even though English is my first language.

Cindy - I know you love coffee, me too, but have you tried that gingerbread tea? I was wondering if it was any good. My Starbucks doesn't have the SF gingerbread syrup.

Good morning ladies!

Tina - very sorry about your loss. My prayers are with ya'll and your families.

It is supposed to be a gorgeous day here, maybe get to 72....if the girls feel remotely better I might haul them out for a walk. Pushing that ginormous stroller gives me quite an upper body work out, and then the walk on top of it ...We will see.
Yesterday's menu was crap, Sundays tend to be, but I will post it any way.

B: coffee, SB cereal bar on the way to church
L: lc whole wheat burrito with lean deer meat, tomatoes and 1 tsp lf sour cream
S: 1 string cheese
D: steak with collard greens
S: 1 x 2 square of choco pb cake

oh yeah, gave the girls collards for the first time yesterday and they LOVED them. Didnt give them much, glad of that now...diapers were out of this world!

Oppsie to me for posting on last week's thread today.

Good morning, ladies!

Well, I did stay OP, but it didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked. I had y break, snack, and lunch without a problem, but I wasn't hungry AT ALL for dinner. I ended up eating a NSA fudgsicle and then late that evening (9:00 p.m.) I had my dinner. Ouch. I think I might have to cut back on portion sizes, because it is actually hard to eat this much. Do you think my portions are too big? I'm not sure how to fit it all in. My breakfast is as early as possible for me. I have to feed the kids first. We wake up around 6:30, change diapers, change clothes and then they eat around 7:15, and then I can cook for myself and eat by 8:00). Is this problematic?

Here's my menu from yesterday:
B: 3 egg omelet (2 egg whites/1 whole egg), a pinch of shredded spinach, cheese, 2 mushrooms and 3 slices of onion 8:00 a.m.

S: V-8 and string cheese 11:00 a.m.)

L: 1/2 chicken breast with ricotta cheese topping (oregano, salt, pepper) and crushed tomato topping (1/2 cup) and steamed broccoli casserole (1/2 cup) made with evap milk, egg, FF cottage cheese, FF parmesean cheese and spices. (2:00 p.m.)

S: NSA fudgsicle (I had this around 7:00 p.m.)

D: 1/2 chicken breast with ricotta cheese topping (oregano, salt, pepper) and crushed tomato topping (1/2 cup). (9:00 p.m.)

Vero: Yeah for staying the course, despite the temptation!!! Pizza is such a tempting food for me.

Wendalina: OMG - triplets!! How rewarding and challenging!! That is such a great mommy honor. Your body will start reacting soon. It's so frustrating when our hard work isn't showing fast enough. Remember, though, if you stick the course, your body will have no choice but to eventually work with you. It WILL happen!

heahyou: Good luck on the new job!!

1of: Thanks for posting the recipes. I will be on Phase II by then!! I can't wait to try them!

rose: Yum - minced garlic and red pepper flakes! That's a good idea! When you say Italian seasonings, do you mean the salad dressing packet?

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE!!

Good Morning ladies,
I am bummed out, I skipped the candy all weekend and still didnt lose any weight, I am guessing my water intake is lacking, so thats my goal today, no candy and more water. We will see what sort of affect it has, its been too many days without dropping any weight, I really want to reach my goals.
By the way I tried the pancakes this morning that I posted and they were so good!! I added frozen blueberries to them and I love them. The batch made a ton, so I am putting them into individual bags and freezing them so I can grab them whenever i choose.
My menu from yesterday:

b- scrambled eggs w/cheese and 2 strips turkey bacon
s- sf, ff, gingerbread latte- I loved it and I dont drink coffee
s- v-8 and string cheese
d- chicken enchiladas and ff refried beans

I didnt have lunch yesterday cause I woke up late, I had an early dinner, before 5.

Good afternoon, beachers.

Well, I had an eventful Friday night. I ended up in the hospital!! DH thought I was having a heart attach (so did I, actually) and called the paramedics. We were at a social gathering and I was horrified for them to come in so I met them in the parking lot. Then they had the audacity to keep me in the hospital on Friday night. Long story short - My heart is fine but they think I have acid reflux. Does anyone know anything about this? The current problem is the medicine they gave me. We have random drug tests here at work and the medicine they gave me, Protonix, says it can cause a false positive for marijuana. What a fix!! I'm waiting for the doctor's office to call. Sheeees, what a way to screw up the weekend.

Now you would think with all the blood they took in the hospital that it would make me lighter. Not a chance - scale was up a pound this morning. At least they had a low-carb menu in the hospital so I stayed OP when I was allowed to eat. Did you know they take your water from you? That's not right!!

Tina - I'm so sorry for your loss. for you and DH. You'll be in my prayers.

Kelly - maybe your scale is related to mine. You've been doing great so KUTGW.

Today's menu:

B - HB egg, V8
S - raspberry bean cake
L - salad, cottage cheese, SF jello
S - apple
D - parmesan chicken, broccoli & cauli
S - ?

Talk to you later. Have a great day.

Hi Girls!
So I broke even for the weekend but am still up the 2 pounds I gained at the end of last week which I'm okay with. It's all part of this 2 pound roller coaster I've been on for a while so I'm used to it. I expect most of it will gone by the end of the week anyway. We start the Maintain Not Gain challenge at work this week. We were supposed to weigh in today but I think one of the girls is out today so it might have to wait until tomorrow. I'll keep you posted. I still haven't double checked the cookie counts yet - as soon as I do I'll get the recipe posted.

Vero - It's like they don't think you're serious or they don't know that just one bite can send you over the edge and into an all out off plan binge. There will come a day when having the one slice won't send you over the edge. You'll enjoy your pizza knowing that at the next meal you are right back on plan - just something to look forward to! I only cook a turkey - how many people are you having?

Wendy - you just started 3 weeks ago - don't give up yet! Everyone has stalls. As Rose said it's a little early to throw in a cheat meal. Another less "shocking" thing to do is to eat Fiber One cereal which is OP for P2 with a little OP fruit for breakfast 2 days in a row followed by extra water on those days. This will get your digestive system going and may jumpstart you again. Good Luck! BTW - 21 pounds in 3 weeks is nothing to sneeze at! It took me 4 months to lose that much! Your Sunday menu doesn't really look bad at all!

Kitty - I would cut down on the qtys you eat at each meal - they seem pretty hefty to me. Eating less at each meal is much better than skipping a meal. You have to keep your metabolism fire burning and the only way to do that is with regular eating.

Tina - sorry to hear about your loss - will be thinking of you today.

Kelly - Have a great first day tomorrow!

Tip for today: People often eat to relieve stress or to get something off their minds. The kicker is that stress, and the insulin jump that goes with it, may actually cause you to crave high sugar, high carbohydrate foods – foods that go straight to your waistline and cause you even more stress. Here are a few suggestions to combat your emotions......
Get your trigger foods out of the house, get your crutch foods out of arms' reach. Go for a walk or jog. Do deep breathing and relaxation exercises. Keep a reminder of your goal handy.

Didn't post yesterday so here's my menu:
B: 3 scrambled eggs with cheese / coffee - works / 1 slice ww toast / butter
S: Tea
L: tuna / mayo / some baby carrots
S: Orange cheesecake / SF Cool Whip
D: 3oz steak / 1/2 sweet potato / 1% milk
S: Blue Bunny Black Raspberry bar

Today's menu:
B: Orange cheesecake / SF Cool Whip / tea
L: chicken salad with mayo / baby carrots
S: None
D: ??
S: Blue Bunny Black Raspberry bar

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Beachers!

Tina, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss... My thoughts and prayers will be with you, your DH and family.

Vero, bread is a tricky thing... You really have to read the ingredients because usually "wheat bread" just has ww flour as an ingredient and also contains enriched white flour. It has to be 100% whole wheat or 100% whole grain. The other thing is that since 1 slice of bread is a grain serving, a whole sandwich is 2 grain servings. Even 100% ww bread is a pretty processed grain, so I try to stay away from it and opt for a salad over a sandwich every time...

Kitty, you can have ww pizza once you've added grains in Phase 2... Some of the gals make them on wraps. We used to get the Boboli whole wheat premade crusts and make them... 1/8 of the pizza crust is a serving, so we'd have a salad with our 1 piece of pizza and be perfectly satisfied. It was a very good, easy meal. We can't find the Boboli WW crust locally, so we've started making our own.

Here was my menu yesterday...
Breakfast: Omelet w/ lots of veggies, 2% cheese; V8, 2 cups coffee w/ ¼ c 2% milk
Lunch: Large salad w/ lots of veggies, ½ can tuna, 2% cheese, 2T Italian dressing
Snack: Apple w/ 2 T PB
Dinner: Small Salad w/ lots of veggies, ham, peppercorn ranch dressing and 1 slice of WW pizza w/ turkey pepperoni, red pepper, onion, tomatoes, green olives and LF cheese
Snack: NSA Fudgesicle

Have a great day on the beach, everyone.

I'm an avid coffee drinker, but I have tea on rainy days. And there's been a lot of those lately.

I got the Christmas Blend from Starbucks. Haven't tried it yet, is it good?

Here I go again, losing my mind.

During the whole hospital thing, one thing I learned was very important. ALL my blood tests were normal. My cholesterol had been at about 198 and now it's 156. I asked the doctor if I could see the test results and he let me. Every test they ran was in the normal range. That hasn't happened in years!!!! Even the doctor said that I have the blood work of a much younger woman. I could have kissed him.

This is a true testament to the benefits of our WOE. I'm thrilled with the results.

Marsha, my mom and my boss have acid reflux. They had to change their diets a bit. But otherwise doing well. What a scare. Glad to hear you're doing better.

Boy.... everyone was posting at the same time!

Kelly, you have lost an incredible amount of weight in a very short time... I'm honestly surprised that your weight loss hasn't slowed down before now. You're body may need some time to adjust to it's new lower weight. Don't get discouraged, you are doing so well...

Marsha, that must have been very scary! I'll bet your weight is up because of your body retaining water since it's working to replace the blood drawn. It'll come right back off... Congratulations on the good results from your blood work!

Happy Monday Beachers!!!

I just want to thank you all again for your support last week. I lost a good amount of weight pretty quickly and just got discouraged when my body needed a break.

Luckily I listened to all of you and the result I was hoping for was achieved. As of this morning I am down another 4.5 lbs!!!! I had a whoosh! That's 27.5 total!

I did a WI on Saturday morning at home and at the gym to find out the differential (4 lbs lighter at the gym) and when I looked at the scale it read I was down 4 lbs. I stepped off and on again, still the same...moved the scale to a different part of the bathroom, still the same...i called DF in to confirm. I couldn't believe it! I'm just so happy and it proved to me that if you stick with it, it will happen.

Tina - I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Marshsa - So glad to hear you are doing ok. I hate the hospital, I've spent too much time in them with family members. DF had acid reflux and was on prevacid and nexium. I've been on both as well for an ulcer. They work well and I'm not aware of any drug testing problems with them. You may want to talk to your doc about them. Also, avoid spicy foods, nuts/alcohol right before bed, lots of people have problems at night and sleeping with your head propped up seems to help. Reflux is incredibly common and easily dealt with. So glad to hear that your blood test came back so good. What a great "side effect" of eating healthy.

Cindy & Scarlett - It's funny, last week I posted about the sf gingerbread latte right before Scarlett did...it's just the yummiest! I also love sb's sf hazlenut. Too bad they can't do the mochas sf. I am dying for a pepermint white mocha. I might have one while on vaca on the east coast as a treat. We'll see. I'm a coffee-holic and have severely curtailed my caffine intake since starting SB. Now, 1 venti decaf has enough caffine for me unless it's a really bad day then I have a 1/2 caf.

Cindy - email me about your trip to NYC. When, where you were thinking of staying, things you'd like to do, etc and I'll be in touch.

Dani - Glad to hear your mom is doing better. I spoke w/ my BFF (the one who'd stopped eating) and she is much better. The doc re-arranged her meds (Prozac & Lithium) and it seems to be working.

Vero - Orowheat light bread has 2 slices to the serving, is whole grain wheat and tastes good. See if your local market has it. I don't eat bread often but when I do I normally use this. Might be good for stuffing, too?

Neesie - You're such an inspiration...thanks for your suggestions last week. You're one of the first people I "met" on the board so I kinda look up to you. Rock those size 6s girl!

1of & rose - Thanks for all your feedback. You help us all more than you know!

Kelly, Jacqui, Wendy, Kitty, Tammy and anyone I missed!

Thanks, Neesie. The book isn't really a good reference for portion size. "Unlimited" is something you never say to someone whose dieting! How large should I make my protein and veggie portions?
