Hi WW

Hi,

I thought I posted the other day. I guess it didn't go through since I had to register first.

I'm glad I had B2B's email address; otherwise, I might not have found this website.

I've got to go drop off a bunch of kids to their "Halloween/Trick or Treat destination."

Tat2Dolfin/christylee - So glad you found us! I've been talking with Leslie and Lauren so I'm hoping they'll reply.

ladillon - What was your name on the old site? Unfortunately, that is how I remember everyone!

I see the old site is still down so I really have serious doubts about it ever functioning again. In the meantime, I say let's all meet here. I'm hoping some of the others will find us too.

I'm still sticking to the SB plan. Still stuck at the same weight but that is ok. I don't have as much to lose. Went to the doctor for a regular checkup this week and my blood work in every area was perfect so I feel really good about my health.

I'm still pretty conservative with what carbs I eat. I think it is finding the right balance for your own body.

So nice to hear from everyone!

I'm glad you guys found each other...

I belong to a 100 pound group over on the other board and I really miss the gals over there.

Hopefully they'll get the board up and running again soon. A lot of "SB by the Book Beachers" hang out there... I love being able to get the perspective of some of the successful hard core veterans on that board.

I'm Lad from South Beach

Hi,

My name on SB was lad.

Anyways, I lost another pound. I'm down 8 with 20 more to go. I just tried on a bunch of old jeans. One of them fits now. I am so excited.

The only thing I have added in is a banana because I was sick of eggs in the AM. I did read, though, that a banana in the AM might not be a good idea--maybe too many carbs. I really don't have much of an appetite and don't want cantaloupe so I'll continue with the banana.

Good luck all.

Leslie

ScarletBlonde/Karen - so glad you found us and are no longer lurking! Join in anytime and let us know how you are doing.

1oftheLuvs - Welcome! We are all pretty bummed about the old site going down so I'm glad you found us too.

Leslie - congrats on the weight loss. Isn't that great when you try on a pair of jeans you couldn't squeeze into (or barely) before and now they fit. Very cool! Bananas are one of the higher carb fruits but I would say eat the higher carbs earlier in the day to process them better and be sure and eat some protein with it. I personally love to have 1 Tbsp of peanut butter w/a banana or apple. Yum!

Anyone know how to add a weightloss ticker to your signature in this forum?

bananas & PB

B2B,

Thanks, I forgot to add the PB the last 2 days. It's easier to do when I'm at home, but on work days I grab the banana and go.

I'll have to look around for a small container to keep with my bag.

As far as the tickler, I had that on the other site. I always takes me so long to figure these things out. I look into it again.

Yes, welcome to the people we didn't know before. Hi again Tat2Dolfin! Where's Lauren??

Thanks,

Leslie/aka...lad

How's it going everyone?

I went to dinner last night at a Basque restaurant and I think I did very well with my choices. I'm getting more comfortable about figuring out what to order when going out.

Yesterday
B = bacon & cheese omelet and 1/2 slice Ezekial toast
L = taco salad w/cheese, tomato, olives, sour cream, salsa, taco meat
S = 4 strawberries, 1/2 slice toast, small piece of leftover omelet
D = Filet Mignon, roasted basque peppers, salad, and cabbage soup

I asked them not to put the garlic mashed potatoes on my plate and I refused the bread basket. Someone ordered a dessert and passed it around the table and I'm proud to say I let it go on by too! I went home and had a SF jello

Hi all!! I have missed everyone. There are a couple of us that have been chatting on another board but nothing much has been happening.
Just so you all know I have still been doing my monday weigh ins. I have lost a total of 11 pounds so far
My DH was home for the last 8 days (left today) and boy was that hard. He eats whatever he wants, whenever he wants and doesn't care. I did really well resisting everything until hallowe'en. I will be totally honest. I have had some chocolate. Nothing major but still
I am also going to the gym 3 times a week for an hour each time. Boy does that feel good!!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Good morning everyone!

uniquelymade - Welcome to this thread. I'm certain that getting on a low carb diet will help you with your health issues.

wendysmiling - welcome to you too. So glad you joined our thread. Your stats look wonderful - congrats on your accomplishments!

momangel - So glad to see your face and that you found some of us. I've been emailing with Leslie and Lauren. Lauren hasn't been able to get in yet for some reason. I'm sticking with the Monday weigh-ins too. Congrats on the 11 lbs lost! Whoohoo!

I discovered Blue Bunny Low Carb icecream in Peanut Butter Fudge. It has 3-4 net carbs in 1/2 cup which isn't too bad for those times when you really need a chocolate fix. The taste is heavenly!

I'm really watching the carb counts of what I add back into my diet. I haven't been losing any more weight so I'm cutting back to berries as my carb add-ins. Bananas, apples, and pears are so high I'm not sure I can afford them yet. I did have 1/2 a banana w/peanut butter the other day for a snack.

Went to a local restaurant yesterday for lunch that serves things like homemade roast and turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, homemade bread. Great, huh? Well, I asked for just the meat on the side with a big green salad - no bread, no stuffing, no potatoes and it was quite filling and delicious. I'm feeling much more comfortable eating out now.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning everyone. I have a confession to make... I didn't eat very well the other day and have been paying the price for 2 days now. I am very tired, have little energy and am not sleeping well. Guess that is what happens when your body is used to eating properly and you throw it out the window! Back on track yesterday with only one minor oopsy, back on track 100+% today. I need some decent sleep. Weighed myself this morning just to see how badly I messed up... gained 1/2 a pound so now I am even more determined to stick to the WOE.
How is everyone doing towards our mini goal? 15 pounds by 11/22/07? I have 4.5 more to go and I AM going to do it!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Where is everyone?/

Hi All,

MomAngel so nice to see you again. You mentioned you've been writing to the others from our old SB website. Where are they? Great job with the weight loss. Don't fret over the gain. I know it's easy for me to say, but that happened to me last week when I had a girl's getaway for the weekend and gained. Oh, well. The next week we just get back into the good habits.
Yes, Halloween was tough. I dipped into the basket too many times. My favorite was Nestle $100,00 bars. They are so yummy and the Snickers, too. I should bring them to work to get them out of the house.

Good for going to the gym too. I still haven't gone back yet after all this time. I keep saying, "tomorrow."

Born to Bead-

You are so motivating and inspiring. Love to read your menus for the day.

To all the new people, welcome. It will be nice getting to know your "trials and tribulations" as well.

Well, gotta go pick up pizza for the boys. I ordered salad with grilled chicken.

Even with all my slips, I was still able to get my body into another pair of jeans I haven't worn in years. YaHoO!!
Have a good week.

Our Thanksgiving Goal

Oh, since you mentioned it, MomAngel...

Unfortunately, doubt that I will meet that 15 pound weight loss in the next 2 weeks. I'm down about 8 pounds so far. Don't think I will lose the rest by then.

I still have my outfit hanging in the closet, though, in case I can squeeze into it.

Good luck all,.

Did anyone else weigh in today? I did and I maintained. So I am still at 11 pounds. That is okay with me since I didn't eat as well as I should have last week. Now to start a new week and get the scale moving again

Good morning everyone!

Leslie/momangel - Sounds like everyone is maintaining their weightloss which is good. I am the same too. Trying to get my exercise back into it's regular routine. It's been hit and miss the last week or so.

I've think I've been eating too many sugar-free candies (plus they made me sick) so I'm avoiding those.

Went out to lunch yesterday and had mini bison burgers with a salad. I just asked them to leave off the buns and it was perfect. For being such a former bread-aholic I'm finding that I really don't miss the bread like I thought I would.

Yesterday:
B - Lowcarb waffle with strawberries and SF syrup, coffee w/cream
L - the bison burgers and salad
S - 1/2 deviled egg and some almonds
D - small portion of spaghetti squash with marinara and green beans
S - mini peanut butter cup cheesecake (LC homemade)

I'm strategizing about Thanksgiving. I will probably partake of most things in small amounts if not LC. I plan on making LC mini versions of my favorite pies - pumpkin, apple, blackberry. I really have no desire to eat sugar so I'll make regular pies for everyone else.

I hope everyone else has a good turkey day!

Hi folks, remember me?

I've been trying to get on here for a week now I think, finally got everything lined out. I was checking on the other board too but I think there are more of our group here and seemed the best way to try to salvage the group! Hopefully Veronica checks in over there so we can tell her where else to find us. I like both boards, just want to keep up with everyone.

I made my 15 lb loss, it's a little shaky but I can claim it! I have been a little shaky on the whole deal lately, I don't know why. I knew it would happen but haven't completely figured out how to fix it. I think the initial rush wears off and then I get that "now what?" feeling and purely out of habit head back to what I was doing before. But it's not been bad, just not as good as it was, ya know? I was thinking about it this morning and decided I needed to just keep instilling new changes in my life and not obsessing over what I am eating. Need a new hobby so I decided to start doing leatherwork. Some day I am going to lose this weight and I'll need to find something new to do then anyway, right? Weird mental stuff to sort out.

Anyway hope you all are doing well and hanging in there! Don't give up!

Hi Cowboymom,
glad you made it over to this board.
Congratulations on your 15 pound loss
I am down 12 pounds so I don't think I will make the goal of 15 by the 22nd. Oh well.

I am in the same boat as you, finding it hard to stick with this woe all the time and have strayed too many times. Had a little too much wine last night but still ate fairly well. Had my bookclub meeting last night and I brought a snack that is okay for SB. I brought philly cheesy pizza dip. It is cream cheese (used light) pizza sauce, pizza seasoning, motza cheese, red and green peppers and parmesan cheese. Served with ritz crackers. I only ate the WW ritz so it wasn't too bad. Stayed away from what everyone else brought cause it wasn't SB friendly.

Have a great weekend everyone

Thanksgiving

Hi All,

Didn't make the 15 pound weight loss either, but I don't mind. I'm down about 10 pounds, which I'm glad about.

I do have a few outfits that I can now get in to so that is exciting. I have more energy. I'm having a tough time drinking enough water since it is so cold here.

Glad to hear from CowboyMom. What is the other board you were referring to? Who is posting on that? Congrats on your weight loss!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We should be thankful for whatever weight loss we have so far. Maybe after this plateau, the scales will move again for some of us.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm impressed with Leslie, Debra, and cowboymom's weight losses to-date. You should all be very proud of yourselves.

I'm still trying to find that tricky balance of what good carbs I can get away with adding back to my diet and still be able to lose a few more pounds.

I'm so glad you found us cowboymom! I'm also interested in what other site you're on. The old site is still down as of this morning.

I ordered a couple more of Dana Carpender's Low Carb cookbooks - the slow cooker one and "500 More Recipes". I dumped everything for chicken burritos in the slowcooker this morning so I'm anxious to see how that turns out. Will use the La Tortilla Low Carb tortillas.

Made Crispy Waffles (from 500 More) for breakfast using vanilla protein powder, oat flour, and almond flour. I thought they turned out great and my husband liked them.

Hopefully more old members will find us. Have a good day everyone!

The other board is southbeachfriends.net, you have to register to read it which I had done before I knew about this one. It's not a bad board, not as busy as this one though.

Thanks for saying we should be proud of ourselves, of course for myself I am more critical but for others I recognize that it's good progress. I can fit into jeans I hadn't worn for a while and I know I look different. Now that the initial "rush" is over it's just one day after another, eating healthily and learning a better lifestyle. Which is typically where the wheels fall off for me! LOL But not this time, I refuse to get mired down again. The interesting thing is to think about what really needs to change aside from eating habits. Those are the symptoms, pinpointing the disease is what will make longterm changes.

Snowing today for the first time. I'm almost glad, it's more of a hassle but I was in no way in a holiday mood without it! My parents will be here for a visit tomorrow through Thanksgiving. They are the ones that got me on SB so the visit won't derail me. Though they only have a few pounds to lose, not as much as I do!

St. Joseph's Wheat Pita Bread

Hi all--new and old,

Have you tried St. Joseph's Wheat Pita Bread? It is wonderful. I had it today for lunch with hummus and tabouli. For one whole pita bread the carbs are only 8 grams, BUT if you subtract the Fiber, it is only 4 grams for the whole thing.

Does anyone know if we subtract the fiber to get net carb or are we supposed to use the total carb?

OOps, made a mistake on my weight loss. It still is only 8--not 10 that I previously mentioned.

I'm thinking of bring the SJWPB to my in-laws so I won't munch out on the crackers, which I love. I bought cauliflower today and was thinking of making the Faked Mashed Potatoes to bring, but I don't know if I will bother. I know there will be lots of stuff I can eat.

By the way, I discontinued eating a banana for breakfast. I thought it had too many carbs for me--about 25 I think.

Does anyone keep track of the number of grams of carbs you are eating??

Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Leslie/lad

KFoster, the more the merrier!

How did everyone's weigh in on monday go? I have been super busy so haven't been posting
I dropped another pound last week, making my total 12 pounds so far. Sorry to say that I didn't make the 15 pound mini goal (to be reached today!) so I guess I am a rotten egg Oh well, I am not too concerned about it.
I still have 19-24 more pounds till my goal. I am going to keep going till I reach my goal. I am not too worried if I don't lose some weeks or continue to only lose 1 pound a week. I am giving myself plenty of time to reach my goal weight. I would like to be at goal by my 30th birthday next september.

Hope you all have a beachy day.
And for those of you in the US
Happy Thanksgiving. Good luck with keeping your holiday SB friendly, you can do it

How did everyone's weigh in on monday go? My scale didn't move but I didn't expect it to since it is my TOM. I have also been in and out of the dr's and am quite stressed I have been doing pretty good with following Ph2 but know I have room for improvement...

Just thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing.
