Morning Beachers!

New week, new month! Thanks for the new thread Rose!

Should we set some goals, have a challenge, for the month of October? I would be interested!!

Not much new here; DH comes home today. His dad is doing better but won't go home until tomorrow.

Busy week ahead; and today lunch out with a friend. Trying to think of somewhere I like to go that has good salads.

No walk this morning because it's raining! Hoping it lets up so I can go tonight!

Have a great day on the beach!!! I am off for some coffee - will peek in later!

tina - thanks! When you say Mexican beans, what do you mean by that?? I made regular chili with Turkey, but that will be next.
Cindy - the beans I buy say mexican chili beans on the can. I'm sure you can use whatever kind of beans you used for your turkey chili tho.

Good Morning Beachers!

I managed to stay OP all weekend thanks to the challenge! I had to go to the grocery store and was thinking I wanted something off plan, but thought no I don't want to do that i want to stick to the weekend challenge. So I am only up one from siggy weight. That is down one over the weekend! I'll take it! Now just to get back to my siggy weight!

My goal for October is to lose at least 6 lbs. Which is what I lost in September. I think that 6 lbs is doable and 6 lbs a month will put me around 150 ish for xmas.

Has anyone tried the splenda coffee flavor blends? I tried the hazelnut and . I am trying the mocha flavor today.

sundays menu:
b - 2 cheese sticks
s - fudgesicle
l/d - taco salad with sour cream
s - fudgesicle
I know my menu is rather lite for yesterday, I really gotta watch myself closely on weekends.

ETA - check out my new avi, they are both making silly faces!

Good Morning Beachers,
Its a new month and I think we do need a group challenge for the month, just not sure what lol. I am still at my siggy weight today, this is my 2 month anniversary on SB. I am so glad I have stuck with it. I really wanted to jog yesterday, but the rain just wouldnt let up long enough for me to do so, so I did a Fit Tv workout, I was sweating, it was a boxing one.
Here was my menu for yesterday:

B- 2 eggs with deli ham
s- cashews and turkey bites
l- lean cusine (turkey and greenbeans)
s-part of my SF cheesecake
d- steamed cabbage and turkey kielbasa
s- 1 haystack cookie and 1 SF Oreo

Maybe the 2 cookies i had is what caused me not to lose from yesterday, who knows, I shouldnt have eaten them but I was craving something sweet. So today, no sweets for me, I need to post a loss tomorrow for the Biggest Loser weigh in at work. The gal in 2nd place weighed in this morning and she lost less than a pound this week and she lost less than a pd last week, so I think I have time to catch her, shes slowing down big time.

Kelly

Good morning everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I'm bummed to say that after this weekend's challenge, I am up a half pound. Grrrr... I'm not sure why, I ate clean all weekend, maybe its the pickles? I don't know if I can give them up though! What's a girl to do?? I also did not hit the gym at all like I had planned to, so I am doubly mad at myself. My mom keeps telling me the weight will start falling off if I can just be more active, so I really need to get in gear. I already made plans to hit the gym after work today, so here's hoping I stick to it!

Kelly - I would love to participate in a month challenge, I am hoping to lose 11 pounds this month to put me in onderland. Its a good amount to try to lose in one month, but not impossible!

Yesterday I didn't stick to what I had posted meal-wise, so I'm also going to make the switch to start posting what I ate the day before.

My menu:

B - Low carb yogurt
S - 2 ham and cheese rollups with mayo and pickle
L - Grilled chicken salad with ranch dressing
S - 30 pistachios
D - Salmon and a sweet potato

Have a great day you guys!

Jacqui

Morning beachers!

I hit the ground running today, though I wish I were still in bed . I'm so glad fall break is just 10 days away . I'm going to the mountains. I can't wait. It should be gorgeous!

I am up a pound and a half from my profile weight of Saturday, but TOM is here. The only "treat" I had all weekend was chocolate cake with a raspberry demi-glaze. It was my SIL's bday Saturday. I ate OP yesterday and had a great workout.

My October goal is to get to 215 by Halloween. That is definitely doable.

Have a great day!

Morning Ladies... I'm marking my spot and having my morning coffee. How's everyone doing with the weekend challenge??? I stayed OP almost all weekend... but last night after doing my laundry I went out for a small vanilla cone at mcdonald's... and I don't do that that often. My weight has stabilized this morning and I'm planning to get clean all week.

Rose... thanks for posting this new week's thread!!! Couldn't do it without you Ladies.

Cindy... it's been raining here all last week and will continue throughout this week as well. It's been dark in the mornings... especially with the rain.

Tina, Kelly, Jacqui... WTG on staying OP with the weekend challenge!!! Glad you Ladies are game for a month challenge.

I'm thinking... a new month with a new challenge?? hummm... How about starting a loss 5-10 lbs challenge for the month of October. What do you think Ladies... are you up for the October challenge???

You'll have a great OP week... I'm up for the challenge!!!

YAY! Everyone is checking in!

Tina - Thanks for the bean info; wasn't sure if they were chili beans or white beans!

I am trying to figure out how to *measure* SOMETHING to make sure I am maintaining.....should have done it before I lost, but now too late. I cannot start weighing myself as that would not be a good thing for me, but I need a gauge, besides my clothes. Maybe I will do that tonight (oct 1); take my measurements, then repeat mid month and again at the end.

Any thoughts???? Or other suggestions?

Karen and Welcome!!! Don't think I said that before!

I think if we are doing a challenge, we should set our goals by the end of the day today and determine who is in! I really would like some REAL accountability for myself as I move to more of a maintenance phase - as this is where I really can fall off the wagon!

Yes! But this is truly where it gets hard for me...STAYING OP. I have lost weight, am in a new size, and then I put it all back on again. I am a lifetime WW member who found that this WOE is much better and works better for me. I am short, so a little weight is a lot for me.....so I have been playing with the same 10-15 lbs for almost 18 years! I lost weight after DDalmost18 was born, and it's been an up and down roller coaster since about 1996 when I put the weight back on (moved after 15 years). I am done with it and don't want to go back.....AND I got rid of all my bigger pants (tops have never really been an issue), so there is NO GOING BACK now!

Morning Beachers !! How is everyone today?

Congrats to all the gals joining the 40, 50 loss clubs !!! You gals are an inspiration !!

Luckily or Unluckily for me, my scale is dead and I am having a hard time finding a 2023 lith battery....I went to 2 places yesterday with no luck. TOM started today, so I guess it's best that I dont step on the scale. For the most part I'm P2, but more like P1½ I'm feeling in control......pants a little loose, etc.

I've never been a fan of V8, but I bought the Hot & Spicy kind today and had "soup" (heated & small shake of parm cheese on top) with a slice of WW toast. It was quite yummy. I LOVE tomato soup and usually make some from crushed tomatoes, but there's effort involved, LOL, and it a big batch (no other tomato soup fans in my house) so I'm glad the V8 worked.

Rose....thanks for starting the new thread !!

Tina....WTG passing thru the grocery store OP !! I went shopping today and walked right past the icecream Many moons ago when I was a WeightWatcher one of the leaders always said "If you dont buy it, you can't eat it"...so true !!

Kelly....Hi !! What in the world are turkey bites?

Hi Vernie, Radmom413, Jaqu, Pr8, ScarletBlonde, Star and anyone I missed. Sorry, still trying to learn everyone's names.

Have a great day girls !!

B: sm apple, string cheese, diet pepsi
S: V8 WW toast

I can so relate to this. I'm short too and I haven't lost the weight I gained since having DD and she'll be 12 this November.

I've tried a bunch of different things. I had success on Atkins, but I haven't lost a pound since January. And right now I have gained some weight back. But mostly I know it's because I had bad carbs.

So today marks a brand new start for me, South Beach and exercise.

Hey Cindy: Thanks for reminding me of a new thread. As in last week I made a boo boo again. However I did post. I'm so happy for you that you've gotten to near maintenence and you asked about how to measure or gauge loss. You and I choose to follow the same course. For me i have plenty of small clothing to test myself. In your case you have an almost new wardrobe. Can you purchase something new in a smaller size and gauge it by that? NOTHING THAT STRETCHES

Yes I'm up to the weekend challenge and really need to be more consistant with my walking. So as Rose stated perhaps we should make exercise part of our challenge. For me it will be no less than 3x a week. When I have a nurse to care for DS I can do it. What do you think? Sorry if I made this personal but I always include everyone.

Hi Beacher Pals
As I do every wseek I'm using my Friday weight as my base for the challenge and today's weigh in was down half pound from Friday - I'll defiantely take it! I'm usually up 1.5 or 2 on Mondays. Not sure what that big loss was on Saturday - maybe the scale was cold - it was cold in my house that night. I know I'm grasping at straws here. I'm just going to chalk it up to some type of fluke. To all newbies that is what comes from weighing too often! It just makes you nuts!
I'm up for a monthly challenge myself. I'm thinking we should all make our own mini-goals for October. Not many of us have them posted in our signatures at the bottom of our posts and we should do that so we can see who's in. It seems that's what each of us are stating (so far today anyway) that that's what we're planning on. I say let's make it official. What do you think Cindy? OOOO I just read Rose's suggestion about adding exercise into the mix. How about we challenge 4x a week? It's more than half the days of the week and should be doable for everyone.

Cindy - I'll look for Jillians flax muffin recipe and use that one to make my banana nut muffins. Thanks. Where do you think you'd gain first? That's where I'd measure!

Vernie congrats on your nsv with the pants - woohoo! Yes - I'm not liking the scale too much right now either. It's my own fault I guess. From now on I'll try to only weigh for the start and end of the weekend challenge.

Tina - c'mon girl you can do it! One more to go to siggy! It looks like our weekend challenge is really working. I'm already for another one next weekend! So the hazelnut splenda coffee flavor blends was gross? I didn't even know they existed. Let us know how the mocha one is.

Kelly - good luck tomorrow with your weigh in! You ate a SF Oreo - brave girl - I could never stop at just one! CSR appreciation for you today - is that right? Watch out for goodies!

Jacqui - try getting to the gym or doing a workout at home this weekend. I'm finding that since I started doing that I'm at least staying even for the weekend. Good luck with the 11 pounds for October!

Pir8 - So 10 pounds gone in October - definately doable! Good Luck!

Tammy - Congrats on breaking even for the weekend! I'm really liking the results we're having with this challenge. What will your personal challenge be for October?

Tip for the day: If you use an ipod or MP3 player when working out try having an inspirational song to listen to to stgart everyday. A suggestion: Unwritten (Natasha Bettingfield)

Off menu items yesterday - none!
Today's menu:
B: Strawberry jello cheese (that's what I'm calling now for lack of a better name)
L: Chicken salad on garden salad with dressing
S: Apple
D: Chili maybe?
S: NSA fudgesicle or Blue Bunny NSA treat

Have a great day Beachers!
Neesie

I think making our own mini goals for October is a good idea!

Oh and Neesie, I am happy to report that I cleaned 6 items out of my closet that were too big. Now I don't have anything to wear this winter! Guess I'll have to go shopping! LOL I hate purchasing stuff now when I know I'm hoping to get into a smaller size!

Hey Beach Babes. I'm back.

Last week was rough... I got everything accomplished that I wanted to and I am now dealing with a quiet house. My daughter arrived safely back in the USA and coming home from work today was so hard. I looked forward to the house being quiet, but I missed telling her about my day. She has been my best friend without me even realizing it. SO, I didn't do too good this weekend since DH took me out for my birthday and the scale was up today but I expected it to be so it didn't bother me. I had a nice NSV today though. My boss has been out of town for a couple of weeks, then I was off last week and today he asked if I have lost weight. Nice... totally made me smile. SO I am back on program today and did a 30 minute Leslie Sansone workout.

Today's menu:
B- 1 quiche cup, ff plain yogurt with sweetner & 5 pecans
S - apple cinnamon muffin
L-grilled chicken salad, ff plain yogurt with sweetner & 5 pecans
S- 2 babybel light
D - roasted chicken breast, asparagus

to all those I have not greeted before. I think most of y'all have actaully been around longer than me.

Count me in for a challenge. I decided to try the iVillage Walk On, Rock On 6 week walking challenge... but it is kind of complicated to figure out. It started today and since I am a member at Leslie Sansone's website, then I can just do my thing there cause the iVillage thing took more effort than I was willing to put in (computer wise... you had to do some podcast stuff and my PC would not cooperate... too much hassle) Maybe a good goal for the challenge would be adding daily exercise to our WOE. I think most of us do anyway, but maybe aiming for consistency and accountability with the exercise also.

OH Crud... Rose already said that. See what happens when you're tired and don't read carefully enough.

OK, my goal is to do 30 minutes or more of exercise 6 days a week. Mine will be mostly walking but I may throw in yoga or weight work... you never know.
