I have soehow managed to get this entire week off work. I originally asked for Wed - Fri but my 2 youngest have sore throats and coughs, so I got a Dr's excuse for today and tomorrow, giving me the entire week. Now I just have to make sure to use it wisely. I am going to a recruiting fair on Friday morning so I need to spend some time tweeking the resume and the letter of application in French. I will also spend some time getting DD packed up and her BF moved into his new apartment... then cleaning out their room so that DS can move into it. Lots to do!
Pir8 - Bless your heart. I am so glad that you are ok. Expect to be pretty shaken up and emotional the next couple of days. Experiences like that are always more difficult to get over than expected. Be kind to yourself... we are all just so glad you are safe. ![]() Today's Menu: b- apple cinnamon muffin, FF plain yogurt, coffee with sweetner S- ham, lowfat cream cheese, & asparagus roll up L- Taco salad (homemade ... with extra lean beef, onions, tomatoes, bell pepper, salad, salsa) S- muffin & yogurt D- Salmon & veggies (melange of zucchini, onions, mushrooms) Quick question... I have a wonderful salmon recipe that calls for maple syrup (or honey as a substitute) in the marinade. Do you think this is ok in phase 2 if I only use a little to brush on while grilling instead of marinating it?

Good Morning Beach Babes!
I managed to gain 2 lbs this weekend and I swear everything I ate was OP. I thought I was doing really well! TOM should be starting within a day so I am going to blame the gain on that! I didn't walk this weekend and I guess I should have! I have no excuse I could have walked yesterday afternoon after I picked up DH and kids. They were at BIL to watch the Steelers football game. The Steelers are 3 - 0. DH and BIL are in heaven!Cookie - I hope you get everything done you want done this week, and that your kiddos feel better. Sick kids is no day in the park! Cindy - Good Morning! Neesie - I only actually got one item out of my closet, BUT I am going to get the rest out of there sometime this week! menu: b - 2 egg salad, 1/2 ww bagel l - canadian bacon with green beans, haystack cookie s - berries w/davincies and cream cheese muffin d - grilled chicken salad

Cindy -
to US! My birthday is Saturday. There have been a lot of birthdays here this month. Is it just me, or do other people write the year of their birth whenever writing the date during your birthday month? It usually only happens ON my birthday, anything that I date on my birthday ends out with my birth year... auto pilot I guess. So have a happy week!Tina - what are the haystack cookies? I've seen a couple of people refer to them. I'll have to look em up. I am sure that your gain is just water retention. It helps me to read through old posts... I read the blogs from halfofme.com (girl lost 200+ on SB) and I noticed that she had a cycle of a couple of slow loss weeks, a gain, then a whoosh (bigger loss). You are probably getting ready to have a whoosh! Hang in there camper! |

Cookie - the haystacks are basically Fiber one cereal, natural PB, sweetner, and sometimes a SMALL pc of dark chocolate. Melt everything together except fiber one, mix well, and add the fiber one. I don't measure anything
, but if you get on the recipe board and do a search for haystack cookies you could probably find a recipe with measurements.I usually use about 2 tablespoons of PB since that is a serving a very small pc of dark chocolate (cause that dark chocolate goes a LOOOOOONG way) and a packet of splenda. THEY are soooooooooo good. ![]() ETA: Thanks for the good thoughts about the gain, I needed it! |

Good Morning Beachers,
I have been MIA this weekend, I was so busy with friends and out and about, I wasnt online. I had a great weekend, Saturday we went wine tasting, I had never done that before and I am not a big wine person and I knew I would probably gain weight from it, but I did it anyway, found a couple wines that I really liked, I ended up getting drunk really fast because we went to like 3 different places, I havent drank alcohol in forever because I just had a baby like 6 months ago,so needless to say it didnt take much lol. I weighed in on Sunday and I gained 1 pd, not too bad. We went shopping on Sunday and I did a major splurge, I bought a 300 dollar pair of Sunglasses, they are Dolce & Gabbana. I figured my husband was going to kill me, but he was ok with it, which is good because I love the glasses. It was my treat to myself for doing so good. The good news is though, I am down the pd I gained plus 1 more, woohoo. PIR8- Glad you are ok, that was scary for sure!! Ericha- Glad you liked the muffins, I plan to try some more variations with them in the next batch. Heres my menu for today: B- 2 Pumpkin Spice Muffins S- v-8 and string cheese l- faux tato casserole and turkey wrap s- apple with PB s- 2 mini choc muffins d- shrimp w/lc cocktail sauce and tossed salad Kelly

Morning Beachers!
Thank you for your concern about my near accident. I have been pretty emotional the last few days. Last night I had the weirdest dreams. I don't know if they were stress related or what. The good news is that I made it through the weekend without gaining weight! Yay! That's the first time in several weeks .Reg, I am so glad to see you back! I've thought about you several times since I came back in the spring.Have a great day everyone! |

HI to All!
It's been awhile since I posted, been so busy with business, busy time of year for me, just wanted to take a minute to check in, let you know how I am doing and see how everyone else is doing! Looks like you are all doing great! I have stayed on the plan and haven't cheated yet (sometimes it's real hard too) I have lost a total of 30 pounds since August 1, I have had to learn how to cook all over again, but it is really been worth it. The only time I have a problem is when the family wants to stop at Burger King and I end up drinking a bottle of water, cause I'd rather eat at home than have a salad there, other than that I haven't had too many problems, with the holidays coming up I am a little worried but trying to plan for success. I will try to check in from time to time, but like I said this is a busy time of year for me!
Glad to see everyone is doing so great! Have a wonderful day today!!! ![]()

Hey Rose: I'm very new. Are you responsible for the beginning of every week? If so I love your pictures. I posted a message for the 24th on the previous week. Does it get moved into this week? This may sound very dumb, but "ditz" here just accompished getting through the last week with unremarkable results. I hope I'm getting the hang of this.
Nice you are doing something in supporting Our Troops. I'm and Army Mom but all are brave and with great merit. Cindy: I see you posted early like me on last week too. Feel free to answer. |

Good morning!
I'm restarting this today. I had lost 22lbs last year and then life got in the way. DH is going to do it with me, although I'm starting him on Phase II, so that he doesn't lose too quickly. My issue is that I just don't eat that much. My weight is due mainly to carb issues from PCOS, not from volume of food. This is roughly 1000 calories and it's more food than I usually eat. My menu for today: B- 1/2c Egg Beaters 1 Slice lowfat Swiss 1/2 Slice Deli Turkey Beast 1/2c Green Beans 1/3c Tomato Baked beans 2 Mugs of coffee with 1/4c nonfat milk and 1 pack of equal S- 1 small container Carb Control Yogurt L- 5oz of Grilled Pollo Asada 2 Cups Romaine Lettuce 1 Slice Lowfat Swiss Cheese Salad Spritzer Dressing in Italian Diet Coke S- 1 Slice Deli turkey breast 1T Roasted red pepper Hummus D-6oz Trip Tip steak BBQ'd with dry seasoning rub 1C Broccoli 1/3c Tomato baked beans Diet Coke I also made the Cheesecake that is in the recipe section. Last year that was what got me through the early carb cravings and appeased my sweet tooth. I've decided that I'm not going to weigh myself this time. Last time I got a little OCD with it and in the end I used it as an excuse to go off plan. Now, I'm just going to enjoy my loose clothes. Last edited by BobbiOh : 09-24-2007 at 08:35 AM. |

I am glad I am not the only one! Kelly - $300 for sunglasses??? Now I don't feel so bad - I just bought myself a new Coach purse that retailed for $328! Hi Beachers!
Well the challenge did it's job for me this weekend. I didn't gain or loose but I'll take it! It's nice starting the week without having to re-lose weekend weight! ![]() Today is DS's birthday - my baby is 23 today! Yes, there will be cake, and yes, I will have a small piece. I ordered gold cake which is his favorite. I can take it or leave it so it shouldn't be much of an issue. Now if it were chocolate that would be a different story. I do plan on not having an afternoon snack and I'll pass up on the fudgesicle tonight too to make up for the cake. Hopefully the damage wil be minimal! ![]() Pir8 - OMG!!! Thank goodness you're OK. You definately had an angel on your shoulder right then. Hey the challenge worked for both of us! YIPEE! It had been a really long time since I didn't gain on the weekend either. Now I know it's possible not to again! Vernie - You really can't stay on P1 for more than a few weeks. It's really kind of a detox stage. In order to get your body used to eating carbs again you have to start introducing them back into your diet. Just stick to these 2 rules: Only eat the items on the P2 list and only add 1 grain and 1 carb a day for the first week - you'll only have 1 fruit everyday and 1 grain everyday. he second week you can add one of each again so you're having 2 servings a day. Many of us don't add more than the 2 servings of each - if that. If you follow these guidelines you'll be golden!! Vernie - I love Dancing With the Stars! It starts tonight - 3 nights this week! WOOHOO! ![]() Cookie - looks like you'll be a busy lady this week. I know you said it's hard to get sugar free items over there but have you looked for a sugar free maple syrup? If you can get it use that. Happy Birthday in advance! ![]() Cindy - Happy Birthday in advance. Today is DS's birthday - my baby is 23 today - AAGH! ![]() Kelly - WTG with the loss! Those must be some pretty great sunglasses! I'm way to hard on mine - I throw them everywehre and I'm always forgeting them someplace so I buy cheap ones. ![]() Tina - I'd blame TOM too if I were you. ![]() Becca - glad you stopped in! 30 pounds in less than 2 months! WOW! ![]() Hi Bobbi - Menus look good - please post them every day for advice if needed. Good idea about the scale - we should all do the same!Tip for the day: Take it one day at a time but remember you're in it for the long haul! Today's menu: B: Strawberry cheesecake ship / tea L: Chicken divan D: The fam is having steak and cheese subs for DS's birthday - I'll have mine without the roll S: 1 small piece of birthday cake Have a great day all! Vernie and Neesie - I watched DWTS last season, but their isn't anyone that excited me this season - I will skip it until then end. I have done that several seasons when I wasn't excited about the dancers, then just start watching when they get down to about 3-5 pairs!
Vernie - do you watch So You Think You Can Dance? Now THAT is my favorite dance show! |

I have a question. I finally bought a waffle iron this weekend. Am I better off making flax meal waffles, or will waffles made with whole wheat flour be just as acceptable?

Good Morning Beachers!
Busy weekend for me. Worked out Sat & Sun and went to the gym again this morning! I promised DF I wouldn't become a gym rat but I have dedicated myself to working out 5 days a week. Pir8 - I'm so glad to know you're ok. The same exact thing happened to my BFF Sandra. She was driving down I-80 and a pick up truck had plastic chairs (lawn chairs) in the back and a few fell out into her lane. Unfortunately, when she swerved out of the way, she clipped the car next to her, sending her out of control and her car flipped on it's side (driver side down), slid a good 50 yards down the highway then flipped onto it's roof and slid another 50 or so yards before coming to a stop. No cops around, the truck that caused the accident kept driving (not sure if they ever caught the guy). When the car flipped on it's side her window shattered and her arm dragged across the road. She's had to have numerous surgeries to remove pieces of the road and other debris from her arm. She's doing fine now (this was about 3-4 years ago) but it was very painful and you're very blessed because it could have been so much worse! ![]() Onto brighter topics, I had a .5lb loss since Thursday. That takes me to 285.5 a total loss of 16.5 since Labor Day! TOM is expected any minute now so I'm happy to have lost anything. I've got tons of work today so quickly, here's the menu: B: 2 pumpkin spice muffins, 3 turkey sausage links, glass of milk S: Pure protein shake L: Salad w/ chichen, tomatoes, almonds and dressing S: rf cheese stick D: Grilled Pork Chop, green beans (I think), sauteed mushrooms S: sf popsicle Wow...looking at that, it's very P1. Maybe I'll add an apple to dinner or something. We'll see. Have a great day all!
