Good Morning Beachers!

I tried hard not to weigh myself today!!! Tommorrow is the day!!!

Above my scale I had written my weigh on a postit 2 weeks ago and stick it there on the wall. Today I saw my DH printed out a southbeach header and wrote his weight under it and stick it by my weight. I thought it was cute
SO he started SB PH 1 today it will be so great to do it together he has about 20-25lb to loose as well.
Here is my menu for the day:

B 2 fried eggs, 7 black olives a tomato a cucumber
S none
L Sauteed chicken breast with vegetable
salad
1 cup yogurt
S15 almonds
D NOt sure yet, probably tuna salad or
baked articokes with LF cheese on top
S LF yogurt with splenda

Cindy Thank you so much for the info about moving to P2 that was really helpful.

Have a great day all!

Another day on the Beach, and another day closer to P2; which I am looking forward to!

Rana - You have me craving olives! I love them. Do you know if we can have any kind? I couldn't seem to locate that info. We have an olive bar in the grocery store I shop at! And good for your DH! You are a few days ahead of me, so I am counting on you to pave the way to P2!

Was home all day yesterday getting a few things done and relaxing, and those are usually the worst days for me as it's easy to nibble.....think I did wel:

Yesterday:

Bfast:
2 eggs scrambled in EVOO w/fresh tomatoes
3 slices of Canadian Bacon

Snack 1:
Yocheese with splenda, vanilla and cinnamon

Snack 2:
Piece of string cheese

Lunch:
Small Salad with rf cheese, hb egg, light dressing

Snack 1 & 2:
Cashews
Iced coffee
SF Fudgsicle

Dinner:
Buffalo chicken breast
Sauteed Brussel Sprouts

Sweet treat:
SF Rootbeer Float (I froze 2 scoops of light cool whip) and I didn't end up eating the whole thing.

Need to pick up a few things to get me through the week too!

Have a GREAT DAY!

Cindy,
I have asked the same question in this forum and somebody said its allowed in PH1 but eating them in moderation because of the sodium in them.Actually my DH who lost 23 kg (50lb) with SB before said he ate them during all phases... In my logic since I drink a LOT of water the sodium in them wouldn't affect me as much and since I don't over eat them I dont think the fat in them will efect either. (techinically we are alowed 1tsp olive oil at breakfast so I eat olives and cook my eggs in a little less than 1 tsp oil)... Hope it helps....

I am looking forward you joining for PH2

Good morning, all!

Last night, I tried the hummus I bought with celery sticks...it was so good, and I did overeat it. Then I had this thought of, "oh, who knew that hummus would be a food I'd overeat?" That's very much an intuitive eating thought, and it made me happy to think that instead of thinking "how could I eat so much, I've blown it, I might as well cheat on other stuff, I'm an awful dieter and so forth."

It was really awesome to realize that I didn't have to beat myself up over it, even though my tummy was uncomfortably full. It also shows me that I really can combine IE and South Beach and not just say that I'm going to do it. I liked it that the IE thought was automatic.

Time for some breakfast and then off to the gym! Have a good day on the beach, all!

Good morning to all. What a busy weekend. Friday we did go dancing and I had water instead of my normal Rum and Diet Coke. Saturday my sister and I participated in a walk/run for 5 miles for a Heart and Sole charity. I exercise 3-5 days a week and I hurt from my head to my big toe. I know the terain is different but heck!!!! Saturday and Sunday I helped DH with projects around the house and ended up being outside most of both days.

I was down 2.2 #'s on Saturday and up 1# today. It could have been the ham I had yesterday but it doesn't make it any easier to accept the up instead of a down. I guess I can count a 4# loss for the first week and hope the 1 # goes away along with 4 more #'s this week. I would be on schedule if that happens. One more week of induction. After induction I am still going to limit carbs (the white stuff) to keep my weight down.

Menu:

B - 2 whole eggs with 1 slice of canadian bacon
S - String cheese
L - Thin sliced turkey and mixed greens salad
S - Blue Bunny Lite Yogurt (the grocery did not have the Dannon Lite & Fit)
D - Turkey meatballs with salad.

Here's to a good productive week.

Good Morning everyone! Glad to see everyone is doing well and making good choices.

I actually ate slightly off plan this weekend. I hope it won't affect my loss too much. If I keep the same weight or slightly more on Tuesday, I will be content. Today I decided to do P1 for one week to make sure that I keep those cravings away.

Hope you have a great day! I'll check back in later w/my meals.

Am still hanging in there, have had some problems with cravings but I think I got them worked out. I didn't cave except to a piece of pizza once so thats not too bad. I actually ate some whole wheat spaghetti last night with no cravings. That to me is wonderful as when I usually have carbs I go nuts with hunger. I will slowly ad a few more things this week but only one per day or so to see what happens.

I was quite proud of the no cravings at all yesterday and had to stop by and let you guys know. I will try and post more and read all the wonderful posts you guys make.

I go to the heart doctor today and I am hoping that scale gives me a break. He was so upset with me last time and its been oh since January that I've been there so I am hoping this go round he is pleased. I know I haven't lost too much in the last month and half since I've been beaching but I don't lose alot so I hope there are some results at least.

Hi everyone!
Had a good but busy weekend. I planned on hitting the gym early this morning but DH informed me at like 8pm last night that he needed a ride to work because his car was going into the shop this morning, I only got to do 15 minutes on the treadmill before work. I planned on doing 30 minutes than circuit training. I would have worked out at home this weekend if I'd known before hand - UGH!

Rachel - to answer the Lean Cuisine question, they post the nutritional info for all of their dinners at www.leancuisine.com. The ones I have at home are the steak tips portabello, chicken marsella, garlic beef & brocolli, and roasted garlic chicken. Each averages about 9-10 net carbs and about 4 grams of sugar. The sugar is a little high but I only eat them once in a while when I didn't have time to pack something for lunch the night before. I checked out the nutrional facts on the ones with the whole grains and they have ALOT of carbs - most of them have about 40+ carbs in them lots of them from sugar - too much for me. Check out that website tho - lots of info.

Todays menu:
B:Creamsicle yogurt pie with cool whip / tea
S: none
L: Garden sald with 3oz tuna & mayo & salad dressing
S: if I have one - apple
D: BBQ - hamburger and hot dog - no buns 1% milk
S: SF fudgesicle

Have a great day everyone!
Neesie

Neesie, thanks so much for the info. They are really the only frozen dinners I like and it's good to know what my options could be once I'm a little bit further into Phase 2!

I'm back from the gym and here's my menu so far today:

breakfast: fiber one and milk
snack: ff sf vanilla latte
lunch: tuna and broc. slaw sauteed in olive oil and soy sauce (love this!)

I have been craving vegetables since yesterday afternoon, so I guess it's good that they are unlimited. Does anyone know why I might crave veggies? I have never been a big veggie eater but maybe my body is being fed well enough and exercised well enough after four weeks on SBD that my body is asking for nutrients instead of sugar.

Back to work for me, I will check in later!
Keep up the great work on the beach all!!

Hi!

Busy day! DD19 and I got pedi's this morning! I love doing that! I got a french again and my toes look Beeeyootiful! Then we went to the eye glass place where I got my specs tightened and found another pair I like.....they aren't as heavy looking as my current pair and I need to have two.....just in case. Have had MANY close calls and don't want to take that chance....put the frames on hold and will go back later in the week.

Then we did a bunch of returns, had lunch, got groceries and came home. NOW I need to finish the laundry and get dinner. OH, I also started cleaning out my closet and doing my switch....It was a great day!

Neesie - thanks for that link and info; I use the frozen meals once in a while to take to work for lunch!

Today so far:

Bfast:
1 cup of coffee
2 slices rf lunch meat smeared with light mayo and chopped cukes

Snake:
Cup of coffee

Lunch:
Went to Noodles....Got a Med Salad, no pasta and asked for light Balsamic on the side

Stopped and got a cup of coffee to take the the grocery store

Snack:
String cheese
Jazzed up Yocheese

Dinner:
Frittata and salad

Sweet Treat &/or Snack
SF Fudgesicle
PB/Lt Cream cheese concoction

Still going strong! How 'bout you?

Hi everyone!

Well today was my weigh in day and I am not a happy beacher. Up a couple pounds. I had alot of salty food-bbq then dsl made a ham yesterday etc so I will attribute it to that but with staying the same for 3 wks then being up well you know how that goes. Am so afraid I will give in to temtation to cheat. But so far I have held on strong.

Glad everyone is doing so well.

Will talk later need to run to the store no time for individuals today.

Hi, everyone,

Rachel, I am intrigued with the tuna and broccoli slaw saute. Do you use canned tuna or fresh? If canned, could you give a recipe?

My weight is staying within the same pound and fluctuating within ounces. I guess that means it has not changed for about a week. Maybe too much salt...

I am determined to lose, so quitting is not an option!

Hi y'all,

Went to the doctor today and I have lost 8 pounds since I went there last so he was pleased. Its so good not to be embarrassed cause I have gained weight!!

Jan believe me the only way you could possibly ever achieve success is to keep on keeping on. The other option is just to gain back what you lost and thats not a good option! Just hand in there is if you don't get a change in weight some weeks its ok, just do not give up!!!!

Yesterday I had:

eggs, ff ham, onion, mushroom, low fat cheese
low fat hot dogs, chilli, low fat cheese
whole wheat pasta spaghetti sauce
frozen popscycles

today:

ham eggs lf cheese mushrooms onion
lf sausage lf cheese
beans, chilli, 1/2 cup whole wheat spaghetti
ff popscycles

Meme, that's so good! I'm so proud of you!!

Jan, it's really simple. I put some olive oil in a non-stick pan and then added about 1 1/4 cups of the broccoli slaw and then added most of a can of tuna (my cat got some!) and drizzled soy sauce over it. Then I just kind of stirred it all together until it was warmed through. Very simple and easy!

here's the rest of my food for the day:

snack: apples with peanut butter carmel dip (this was just peanut butter mixed with laughing cow cheese, 2 packets of splenda and some carmel sugar free davincis), celery with hummus
dinner: cucumbers, blue cheese dressing, and pizza toppings (we went to Godfathers)
snack: sugar-free chocolate pudding

I got to go and have coffee with my good friend Matt today. I just adore him. We're having lunch tomorrow, and he's so sweet, he said, "we can pick a restaurant that is SBD friendly."

I went for a walk with my daughter tonight, just to enjoy the nice weather. It's wonderful to want to be active and to have the energy to do it.

Happy beachy evening friends!!

YAY RANA! P2!!! I won't lose a huge amount on P1 either.....I think my body is so used to me watching what I eat....I also don't have a ton I would like to lose. I think you are doing really well though; they say slow and steady wins the race!

I am running out of time and am to head out the door - hugs to all who follow and let's have a great day.

I am off to work.....Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work I go!

Hi All!
Congrats to everyone on their losses! Also congrats to those who didn't loose but stayed on course anyway - that itself is a grand achievement!

Going to the gym today after work. I have a headcold and my sinuses hurt but I'm going anyway. If I let myself skip the workout it may be harder for me to start up again.

Rachel, it's funny you've been craving veggies lately. With me it's been salad. Seems like I can't get enought lately. Like you said, thank goodness it's unlimited.

Todays menu:
B: cheese omelet / tea
S: probably won't have one
L: grilled hotdog - no bun and salad
S: strawberries
D: not sure yet -probably salad
S: SF fudgesicle

Have a great Beach day all!

Good morning Beachers! I've made it to Phase 2. Feels good. During TOM I gained 1 pound and lost 1 pound, so my weight has stablized and I am still maintaining a 5 lbs loss. This week I will be careful not to consume too many carbs. I am determined to continue eating healthy and becoming a new me. Also I've decided not to eat past 7 pm, since I broke the habit of eating at night, which took about 21 days to break. Yahoo!

Rana, Congradulations on your 7 lbs loss and arriving at Phase 2. Your pictures show your progress. You have worked hard girl, and you deserve it. WTG.

Meme, WOW, on lossing 8 lbs and having a good appointment with the doctor. Keep on keeping on. WTG.

Rachel, craving vegetable is a probably a good thing. I try to listen to what my body is saying to me. This is an ongoing challenge for me.

Neesie, sorry to hear you have a head cold. I'm just getting over one myself. Hope you feel better and good luck at the gym.

Here's my Menu: Phase 2
Breakfast: fibre 1 w/milk, small banana, 1 splenda pkg
Snack: 1/2 cup plain yogurt w/1 splenda pkg
Lunch: 1 cucumber, raisin, peanut spinach salad
w/ 1 tbsp mayo/1 tsp olive oil
Snack: nuts ?
Supper: small potato, mixed vegetables, meat ?

Have a Great Week Beacher Gals!!!

see ya,

Good morning! Back from the gym and ready for my lunch date and working on finishing up the last two chapters on this project.

So much happy news here today--it feels like a party!!

Rana, I can see a big difference!! I need to be brave and take some tummy and back photos. Wow. Such wonderful progress! You've got a great waistline!

Neesie, I am sorry that you've got a cold but I'm so proud of you for going to the gym. You are such a great example to me. I keep watching how you are working this plan and it inspires me. Thank you!

Tammy, congrats on your Phase 1 results! I'm so proud of you for breaking the night snacking habit. That's a huge accomplishment. Is that a new avatar? You have a beautiful smile! And, I love your signature.

Cindy, way to go on the self care! I love pedicures, they feel so indulgent and it makes me happy to wear sandals and see my toenails looking pretty!

Have a wonderful day on the beach everyone!!
