atkins to SB stall
hi, ive been on atkins for 5months. lost 22lbs.felt great because of all the fat required .unfortuntly, i got sick of it.sic of counting carbs and getting so stressed about it. i switched to sb because of the illimited amount of greens that r ok!! im so happy i can have a lot of veggies(lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, and zucchini are my favorites) 3/4times a day.plain yogurt twice a day is my dessert, wish i could have more though.i started phase 1 SB after a strict atkins induction. i kind of excpeted not losing as much as other people did.10 days now and the scale aint moving.what do u think? should i stick to SB? or go back to atkins? do u think ill start losing a pound/week after a llonger phase1?would i still lose while on phase 2 ? i dont mind losing slowly (just 10lbs left to goal weight) i still dont want to stall!!

Welcome!
SB Phase 1 is for losing cravings, and people who were highly carbed up on junk food (like me) will see a loss. I lost 9.1 pounds, most of which was probably water weight. Someone going from Atkins Induction to SB Phase 1 will probably see a tiny loss or maybe none at all. You've already had the initial water loss. I just wrote a post on P2 of the SBD that might be helpful to you. You might or might not see an immediate loss on P2 and may need to be patient for two or three weeks to see the scale move. As you begin to add carbs, you will hold on to some water and it might make it look like your scale is temporarily on pause. However, it's wonderful having the variety of foods and nutrients added to your plan, and I feel fantastic with this way of eating. Good luck to you! celinion - I feel for you because this is why I am trying SB. I was on Atkins for 6 years. I had some harmone changes last fall and gained 10 #'s. I was strict on Atkins from Feb to the end of April. I lost and gained the same 3 #'s for the whole time. I gained 9#'s when I started to exercise again and was really down even though I am aware of the muscle increase on top of the fat I had (which I thought the fat would have started to demish by now). I have lost 3#'s in 6 days and thought it would have been more. I believe this is going to work for both of us. We just have to stick with it.
LowCarbRachel - thanks for your wisdom and encouragement. Showing results helps SBeachers like myself stick with it. ![]() |
