Hi All,

i feel great I am at 6th day of P1. Weekend was good with no cheating...
And Tammy I tell you its not because I am strong its because I know if I cheat once I am off the wagon I am kind of all or nothing. So dont feel bad about the jello as long as you are back on the wagon which you are, you can do it keep up the good work

Rachel Rachel I did not like exercising and thought it is too much work until I started Callanetics. I dont know if you ever tried it or heard of it, people either love it or hate it. I love it because its low impact and it is doing miracles on my body & it works really fast especially if you are dieting.. There is actually threads about it in excercise board ..there is even a before after pictures thread that people shared... very inspiring...CALLANETICS BEFORE & AFTER PHOTOS

...check it out maybe you will like it... I love it and do it 3X a week...

This is really my 2nd day on SB. My DH has decided to do this with me. I fixed a chicken parmesan out of the SB Quick Cookbook. It was supposed to be Turkey parmesan but I could not find the turkey breast. One serving was plenty and we have left overs for tonight. We had a salad with that. I have never been one to follow a recipe book but I will this time. My DIL is also on the induction to lose several pounds she gained on vacation. She has been very helpful on what to watch for.

B - One whole egg, one egg beaters
2 pieces of turkey bacon
4 oz V-8
S - Dannon Lite & Fit Yogurt
L - Baked chicken strips with salad
2 - String Cheese
D - Chicken Parmesan
Sesame Green Beans

I usually drink water or Diet Coke. You will notice that I eat the same thing just about every day for breakfast and lunch. It is easier for me to do that and not have to think about it. Thanks to all of you for listening. P.S. Had a wonderful weekend working in the yard. Getting ready for a cruise in three weeks. Got to lose 10 #'s.

Morning! Marking my spot!

Day 2, P1, for me today (Technically started on Saturday but after a protein powder, fruit smoothie for bfast).

I am feeling quite satisfied and actually feel like I have lost some of my bloated feeling already. I truly believe I am a carb addict and really seem to do better, am more successful and feel better when I stay away from bad stuff.

I have a nice lunch box filled with good stuff today since I eat bfast AND lunch at work. I am up for a good week!!

Rana - I agree with you; I have to stay strong too because I know if I do go off program, it's so easy to continue to stay off!

Have a great day all; I probably will post a menu later. AND if you see something I am doing wrong - let me know!!!

hi all!!
Sorry to have posted that and ran, but I can't get on to post on the weekends. This one was busier than most, so I really couldn't find the time to post more info.

I did get a positive PG test. But, we are very leery, as I am considered high risk. I had a tubal ligation reversal procedure 3 years ago and with every pregnancy there is a high risk of tubal pregnancies and miscarriage. So, I'm calling my doctor today and we'll see what's going on.

But, I guess that would explain why the scale hasn't moved much in 2 weeks. I lost 6 lbs on this WOE the first week, then 3 the next, then not much significant since. I've yo-yo'd back up to 169 today and that's very disappointing to me. On Atkins I typically lost 1 lb a day for the first month. Now I'm looking at 8 lbs total in 3 weeks. Not very encouraging for me.

I'm going to be very busy today and tomorrow, so I doubt I'll be able to check back in again until tomorrow morning. I will keep you all posted on any news I find out from my doctor. Good wishes appreciated. Thanks and have a great day everyone!!

Good Morning!

I just dropped my oldest off at Pre-K and now the little one and I are off to do some food shopping. This is my meal plan for today:
B-Egg Beater (equiv 1 egg) omelet w/asparagus + Canadian Bacon + coffee/milk
S-sf plain yogurt w/blueberries
L-salad w/grilled chicken, asparagus, some chickpeas, tomatoes
D-up in the air still....probably something on the BBQ
S-fugesicle or sf jello

I know I should be incorporating a grain as well as a fruit in Phase 2, but I really have not had the desire too. I was really missing the fruits in Phase 1, but I am doing really well w/out the grains. I do plan on having some ww pasta some time this week and some fiber cereal, so my plan is to add it when I feel like it.

The pool has warmed up so I will take the little ones later and hope to do some laps.

I hope everyone has a great day and I will check back later!

Good morning Beach Babes and happy Monday!

So did you hear my screams of joy this morning? With today's weigh-in, I have now lost 25 lbs since January! And I've lost lots of inches! And since I've been exercising regularly, I've firmed and toned up so I look like I've lost even more. What's most amazing is that I did it without much difficulty or feeling deprived. I feel fantastic about my WOL and I'm proud of myself that I could do it!

I have to run now, but I'm sending my best to everyone and congrats for every achievement, big and small. I'll try to post more later.

Amy: Of course I'm sending you all my good wishes and hope everything goes OK!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day!

Good morning, South Beach friends!

I am really sleepy this morning and not sure why because I slept great last night!

My day: had cereal and milk for breakfast (it feels like cheating to eat it, but I really enjoyed it, and Fiber One is one the plan, I even measured it out to make sure I didn't go over on grains) and have stuff here for snacks and lunch. I'm about to get dressed, take my daughter to school, and go to the gym. Then I'll be home to write a chapter (for work, not for a post *smile*)

Have a wonderful day, friends. See you a bit later!

Hi all!
I had a great weekend too! I went down to NH to visit a friend. I thought it was going to be a pigout weekend but I was SOOOO good. I stuck entirely to plan execpt for 2 slices of my fave pizza that I can't get up here in Maine (thank goodness). I weighed myself this morning - which I swore I wouldn't do until May 1, and I lost 1.5lbs since Friday! WOO HOO!
My friend had bought lots of fantastic "bad" stuff including bagels and ice cream - not thinking that I was on a diet. I didn't eat any of it. She is a carbo craver just like I was but I may have converted her. We went out to lunch and we both had a huge salad. While we were eating I explained how I had lost 18lbs on the South Beach way of eating. She said she was thinking of trying Nutrasystem. I told her it was basically the same thing - eating low GI foods and good fats. Why spend 75 dollars a week on Nutrasystem when you can do SB much cheaper and still loose the weight? I may have hooked her with that.

Todays menu:
B: green tea and a Jimmy Dean 3 cheese omelet - they're very good
S: if I have one - SF Jello
L: Garden salad with chicken breast
S: Apple
D: Not entirely sure yet
S: if I have one - SF fudgesicle

Have a fantastic day Beachers!!
Neesie

Jillian great job! I bet you feel fantastic.
Amy, hope you get the answers you want.

I'm having a tough time of it right now. I just don't feel good. I hurt after I eat and am uncomfortable for a few hours so eating much doesn't appeal to me. I had my gastric emptying test this morning but don't expect any results from that for a few days. Don't know about the other test I took last week.
Trying to stay with the plan but I'm wanting my comfort foods. I am making myself work out though, it's too hard to start and stop.
Everyone is doing great at the support giving here.
Have a good day, it is rainy and gloomy here today.

Update:

Went to the doctor today. She rushed me in for an ultrasound and bloodwork. Well...it looks like we'll get an extra Christmas present this year.

We are excited, but still in shock. We were going to talk about having another one after I lost my weight, but someone else had other plans apparently. We'll take the gift we were given and make the best of it. This makes 4 little ones now!! *THUD*

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes...keep 'em coming. It's going to be a long nine months!

Amy! OMG! Sending you good thoughts for a healthy pregnancy!
Will you do a Phase 3 SBD?

Cindy, your menu is looking great to me! I will admit that I skipped several snacks in P1 because I just didn't feel like eating. However, there were days when I was feeling really lightheaded from not eating, so I started having a snack. You're right--you can do this! *smile*

Rana, yummy menu, and I would suggest having some protein with each meal to keep your blood sugar regulated and to help with satisfaction and fullness. Cheese does count as a protein, which is sometimes a nice change from meat. Cottage cheese is a protein, too, I believe.

Joli, I'm sorry you're not feeling better and am keeping you in my thoughts. Hope your doctor is able to think of a solution to make you feel better soon!

2bdancing, hey there! Good to see you. Thanks for your thoughts on my P2 thread!

Star, your menu looks yummy, and congrats on making it through your first week! That's awesome!

Baskgirl, it's all about making it work for each of us, and you're smart to listen to your body!

Jillian, congrats again on your STEADY progress! That's what I'm looking for in a plan!!

Rose, I always hate it when I lose a post, it's not fair!

Gram, how's your day so far?

Neesie, you've done so well. That's awesome about the 18 pounds lost and about your friend. I hope she will become an SBD'er! Those NutriSystem ads sure are tempting, though...good marketing on their part. I have a NutriSystem before and after pinned up on my fridge--the girl had my before body type (and hopefully I'll have her after...)...I'm sure the NS would love it that I'm using their ad campaign to motivate me on another plan!

I hope I've said hi to everyone! If not, it wasn't on purpose!

My chapter is written for the day, hooray! And I've been eating a little different, being at home. Here's my day:

breakfast: fiber one and milk
workout, 45 minutes at the gym
snack: ricotta mixed w/vanilla and splenda (sooooooooooooo yummy)
lunch: tuna mixed w/dressing, celery, sweet treat (piece of sugar free chocolate)
snack: apple slices w/peanut butter and laughing cow cheese
dinner: shrimp and cucumber slices w/dressing
snack: ff yogurt

See you all later!!

Thanks Cindy and Rachel!!

I think I will continue with SBD and go into Phase 3. I haven't talked to my OB yet, so it really depends on how she feels about it. I feel pretty confident that I can do that since it really is just proper eating habits. I'm not skipping meals or limiting myself on healthy foods. I just won't focus on it as a weight loss attempt. If I can maintain a healthy weight and not gain an enormous amount of weight with this baby, I'll be happy.

Congratulations Amy! I'm so relieved you got good news. I hope you'll stay with us, even if you do a modified SBD during your pregnancy. What an exciting Christmas it will be!

JoLi: I hope you'll feel better soon! Don't push yourself too hard with the exercise.

And thanks everyone for all your positive feedback. It IS a great feeling. When I came back from vacation on January 1st, I felt horrible, like a total loser blimp! All my clothes were too tight and I didn't even want to look at our photos. What a difference a few short months have made! I still have a way to go, but my goal is getting closer -- I think I see it through the trees. If my weight loss continues like it has so far this year with bigger losses in alternate months, then May should be a good one. But either way, I'm satisfied as long as I continue to lose. Fast isn't always best (I always gained it back), so steady is THE way to go.

Have a great evening everyone and keep up the good work all you newbies. You're doing great!

Good Morning Everyone!

Congratulations Amy such an exciting news!

Also Congratulations Tammy finisihing your first week of P1 I feel really good about it too except I am a little scared I hear people saying they loose up to 10 pounds in P1.. it's hard for me to believe i will be losing that much, (I promised myself that am not weighing myself until next tuesday morning) we shall see....
Oh and this morning I had a nightmare my husband was melting chocholate & marshmallow over the stove & forcing me to eat I am glad when I woke up it was just a dream

Here is my menu for the day...
B 2 eggs cooked with onions & red pepers and a little bit cheese
