Not crazy about veggie juice?
I'm not either, at least not drinking it plain and cold. But I love vegetable soup broth so I mix 6 oz of low sodium V-8 Juice with 6 oz of low sodium chicken broth and warm it up to sip on with breakfast. I put some in a bottle in hubby's breakfast/lunch bag to take to work and he called to say he loved it. I asked if he warmed it up first and he said he just drank the juice/broth combo cold!
Anyhoo, I love it all hot and savory at breakfast or as a little appetizer before a meal to fill me up a bit. |

This brings up an interesting point. I've read that a lot of people starting out on SBD take the menus in the book as prescriptive when really they're just meant as examples. One of the things I love about SBD is that you're not given a specific menu plan, but suggestions only, and no serious restrictions (except for stuff like nuts, etc.) I think we're so used to being prescribed menus, portions, etc., on diets that we take for granted that the menus in the book are what we have to follow without deviations.
It's just as Rose said - we need to ajust to suit our own needs. I would never be able to follow the menus in the book, the main reason being I'm a vegetarian and those menus aren't .Tam |
