Not a SB'er. But as with any new WOE, you are going to get the most in depth answers to your questions by reading the book.

Yeah, I dont need to know HOW to do it...I just want the opinions of those who have done it/are doing it. Since my post was moved however, I doubt I will get any but those who are currently doing it...

No, you won't be hungry if you follow the plan as written. You get plenty of good food and it is important to NOT let yourself get hungry. And IMHO, you will get the best advice from those who are currently in the trenches and are doing. Hope you decide to join us.

WOE: eating healthy foods
Hi, there! My doctor suggested SB to me, too, and I *love* it! I have been doing this for 10 days and am in Phase 1. I felt hungry the first couple of days and on my third day, I suddenly didn't really feel like eating (I am not sure why, either) I love the food choices, even on the first phase, and I also love: no cravings, good energy, better focus, sleeping better at night, and that I lost 6.1 pounds in my first week.

Study the food lists at the top of this board and make a plan for your meals. I'm not really into cooking, but it's not hard to make a couple of eggs for breakfast or to grill some lean protein for lunch/dinner and have it with a salad. I love it that Phase 1 includes 2 servings of fat free milk/yogurt a day and that we can also have a serving of nuts a day, including 2 TBSP of natural peanut butter. Oh yeah, and a fat free, sugar free latte from the coffee shop can count as a serving of milk. That makes me happy.

I am pretty new at this but love the program. And I've tried almost every diet out there.

Betsy Ann: It's a fabulous plan and you won't be hungry if you do it by the book. It's the only plan I've ever been able to stick to and I'm very happy with the results. The first few days can be tough, but if you fight through them, you'll be amazed at how your cravings will disappear and it gets easier. You'll be eating good food and losing weight at the same time. If you decide to join us, come to the check-in thread for advice and support.

thanks for the reassurance that this wont be "that" bad... I will get ahold of the book tomorrow and hunker down for a day or two until I understand what to do. I agree with Joskids that it is always essential to read the book of whatever plan one is following. I have been off and on, (mostly off ), Atkins for the last 8 years. The "off" part has finally bitten me in the butt and now I no longer am at ease to goof off. It is time to be serious! I will be reading around here to get the inside scoop from you all too! Thanks again!

Hi, BetsyAnn,
I am new to this diet as of last week. Tomorrow will be my first weigh-in. I am finding the diet easy to follow because there is no weighing or measuring. I have been on MANY diets in my 56 years, but my doctor also recommended SB after my blood sugar came back "a little high", and my triglycerides are also high. I belong to a gym and have a personal trainer because of problems with sciatica and arthritis, so I am doing everything I can, finally, for my health. Believe me, if I can do this diet, ANYONE can. Good luck to you and come to the boards if you have any questions. These people are wonderful!
