Starting at phase 2
Has anyone just started with phase 2, rather than doing the first phase? I usually fail at the first phase, but can stick to the second better.

Hello Brit,
I know it's tempting to start with Phase 2, but I strongly suggest giving Phase 1 another try. The reason Phase 1 is so important is that it gives you a quick-start on your weight loss and helps banish cravings. It's only the first few days that are hard and you will be surprised how easy it becomes if you force yourself to make it through those first days. We'll be here to help and support you every step of the way. That said, IF you absolutely can't stick to Phase 1, then I guess jumping to Phase 2 is better than nothing and continuing to eat badly. But you owe it to yourself to give it your best shot!

I have tried to restart by just doing Phase 2 or even Phase 1.5 but I always have trouble. I would recommend that you try Phase 1.

Phase 1 really helped me with my cravings for sugar and junk food and I am enjoying the early weight loss. It took me about six days to detox from the sugar and junk, and I think it's the *key* to my success on SB. Phase 1 is now easy for me (day 10) and I love it.
However, if you can't stick to Phase 1, then certainly Phase 2 is a nutritional place from which to begin. I'd probably do Phase 2 as suggested in the book, adding 1 good carb and 1 good fruit (from the list) per day and slowly working up to more servings of good carbs and fruits. |

Thank you for the advice. I have been shopping and stocked up. Snacks are hard. I know that everyone has trouble with that. I also have a ww tortilla egg burrito with grilled veggies evey morning. I also have english muffins with a veggie burger for lunch alot too. I think that will be the most difficult to give up. Well that and my late night binge eating when the kids have gone to bed.My husband and I would like to loose 15lbs for July 1st. He'll just eat less, me I'll struggle. I am going to start with phase 1. This site seems very supportive. I'm looking forward to doing this with you. Gina |

Gina, I am happy to have you here! Phase 1 got rid of my cravings and my desire to eat junk food at night (and I was eating really badly, stuff like chips washed down with real coke plus a candy bar or some cookies) I'm feeling much better, and it's really worth it. Hang in here with us!
