New to South Beach..
I'm starting the SB diet tomorrow. I need to lose 70 lbs. I just bought the SB cookbook today. It looks like some really great recipes in there. Has anyone tried this cookbook? If so, what are some of the recipes you would recommend? I really enjoy reading this forum and am looking forward to having some success with this program. I've lost weight in the past watching fat and calories, but my cravings for carbs just seem to never go away, so therefore I always end up bingeing. I'm hoping low-carb will diminish my cravings for good.

There are three SB cookbooks and each one is full of wonderful recipes. Try whatever looks good at the time. I hope you also have THE book. It explains very well the science behind the program and has food lists and menu plans and more recipes. As I have said many times before the secret to success is to do it by the book. I hope you will check in with us every day and report your menus and ask any questions you might have. Happy eating.

Rose,
Thanks for your reply. The cookbook I bought was the Quick & Easy 30 minute cookbook. EVERYTHING in it looks so good! Oh, and I do have the regular SB book and also the revised and updated "Good Fats, Good Carbs" guide. I look forward to getting to know my fellow South Beachers here. ![]() |

Melsh,
Congratulations on your loss so far, that's very inspiring. I wish you lots of success on your renewed journey. I've been doing well so far this week and I am down 2 lbs. I can't wait until I reach the 10 lbs mark. ![]() |

Thankyou Starr...I guess I should think of it like that, but instead I get down on myself because I gained a bit back. At least I am trying again now though. Good luck to you!! Congrats on the 2 lbs...stick to it and it WILL come off!
