Welcome!
Re night time eating: Enjoy Dr.A's evening ricotta desserts, found in the book and/or save your SF jello or nuts until evening. Take a walk or I've found that I like to enjoy a Chai Tea each evening, with FF half&half or FF milk. Keeps my hands busy, it's warm (need it for these 20degree nights) and it takes some time to consume!

I am a carb addict! I feel like I should stand up and introduce myself like a 12 step program! The first couple days are hard, but after that you'll stop obsessing over them.(Can't believe I can say that) I posted the other day that after 10days cheat free and OP (on program), I passed on a chocolate chip cookie! I didn't even want it...it didn't even sound good! I LOVE CC cookies!
I just have had it... with my clothes not fitting, feeling sluggish and no will power. I had to stay OP to DETOX from all the junk! You can do it too!

Good luck staying OP. There are lots of places on this board to get info and support!

Vickie -

Yesterday was my first day! I lost a ton of weight 8 years ago on a low-fat, high protein diet (not South Beach, but something similar), and so I thought I would try South Beach for the first time.

I have horrible self-control.I decided to actually sit down with DH and told him that I really wanted to succeed at this, so no offers to go out to eat, even when he is really tired or when I'm really crabby. We definitely use food for comfort.

I am also a night binger, mostly because once I get home at night I love to go out to eat with DH, usually Thai or Mexican. I am also so tired once I get home that I usually don't want to go work out.

But so far, so good.

Good luck!

Sara

Chiming in as a nighttime binger Vickie. I do as Cindy suggested and save a snack for an evening treat. A couple of celery sticks and some pecans make me a happy camper. As does the occasional sugar free fudgsicle!

Ladies, I think that night eating is the hardest thing to conquer. The ricotta desserts are a lifesaver and I can tell you that the fudgsicles saved us many times in the beginning. Sometimes a boiled egg, believe it or not, will work wonders. Keep something legal handy for those times. The hot tea is a good idea, too. We have some almost every night--it's comforting.

A great tip for me was to set a time for myself that I am not allowed to eat after. My time is 8 p.m. and I brush my teeth at this time and that causes me to not want to eat anything else before bed. Just a tip!
