What about pop/soda?
I am a diet Pepsi freak. My doctor still doesnt like it even though it's diet.So I am trying to get more water in. WHich I hate. But what do you all think about drinking diet pop on SB?

How about Diet Rite Cola or Diet Rite Black Cherry (my favorite)? They are sweetened with Splenda, 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 sodium, 0 carbs.!
Have you tried Fruit2O? My family's favorite flavors are lemon and grape. This is the only way I can get my hubby to drink H2O! I personally like to drink H2O with sliced lemons or limes in it. I understand that the lemons are a diuretic (sp?) Good luck! Cindy |

We don't drink sodas at all, for various reasons. Water is our drink of choice. I think "city" water tastes nasty. We drink spring water.

I used to be totally addicted to diet pepsi, I drank a six pack a day!
I weaned off of them by drinking water with lemon added and alot of perrier, etc. Now I drink one and I cannot even finish the can, I am so used to water. I drink about 100 oz a day without effort. Water is so much better for you, the lemon or some lime really helps and it is such a big help in weight loss. I treat myself once in a while to a diet rite, but it's rare. Keep trying, eventually you will love the water... ![]()

Trust me.....once you start drinking all the water, there is no time for pop!! I find my pop desire always leaves when drinking water as I should. I used to be a big pop drinker also.

This is a tough challenge for me too. I love my fountain Diet Cokes. I have really noticed a caffeine withdrawal when I first tried to not drink as much. I have tried to replace it with some ice tea I brewed in my Iced Tea Pot. I figure at least that is more natural. I also use the small packets of Crystal Light or green tea that you pour into a water bottle. I find that it helps me to drink water much more easily as well. It seems like unless I am working out, I just can't sit down and drink a glass of water. I believe that according to South Beach, one diet drink (12 oz. or less) is okay per day, but if you have more than that, your body may stall in losing weight - I know this from experience - because your body will start to think that it is real sugar and keep you from losing weight.
My best advice is to gradually drink less and less each day and see if you can replace it with a healthier choice like the other posters said. Good luck! |
