new to southbeach..can I use Carbquick, low carb items?
I need to buy the book, i'm starting Saturday (i have surgery tomorrow so i'll feel better on Sat.) anyway, the thing i love about Atkins is the fat. I love blue cheese dressing and tomatoes, but i couldnt have tomatoes to often lol.
anyway i see the give and take in both diets. I miss bread and fruit. I noticed with southbeach i can have a few items i miss so much like an apple or whole wheat, oats, etc. anyway, i packed on 12lbs over the last few months and am ready to drop again. I'm tempted to do an atkins induction first but will try it the southlake way, just not sure how i'll do it, my atkins inductions are basically STEAK, STEAK, HAMGURGER, STEAK, CHEESE AND SALAMI. Cant have a lot of that on southlake. anyway, i have a ton of carbquick and other low carb items. Can i use them? Is carbquick low glycemic? im rambling, but anyway thank all!

South Beach emphasizes good fats and good carbs and allows whole grains. Carbquick isn't a whole grain product, so the answer would be "no" it isn't allowed. If you follow the plan, as written, you will get good results. Good luck.

I use carbquik all the time
Just wanted to say I have used carbquik when it was first introduced and I have never had a problem with it causes problems while on SB. The only problem you may be is limiting the great stuff you can make with it. I usually mix it with whole grain flour (after phase 2) and use it to bake everything I use to bake with white flour. It's delicious!
